Hi Deb, your duplantier dress is superb - particularly in the lovely fabric you purchased from the Dahlia Sewciety. I think the shape of bodice is very flattering and I am seriously thinking of purchasing this pattern (and adding length to it as you have done). You have a great knack in pairing up beautiful fabrics with the various patterns you sew - I think fabric choice is so critical. Happy sewing. 🌸

I have seen someone recently doing her weekly shopping in the local supermarket in her flannelette pajamas, with UGG boots of course. I was dressed to the usual standard..stockings, matching skirt with handknitted jumper, scarf, full make up... I felt quite over dressed hahha. ❤❤

Deb I love your top. Liberty😮❤❤❤. You are my inspiration for wanting to make it. It was really good to hear how you do binding. I think I do something similar. I don't like traditional bias binding. I like it when you sew it on flat then fold it over, understitch, clip, trim, I think I may fold it again then sew. Does that make sense 😂? Probably not😂. You are so good choosing fabric. I might get better when I have my own money again. I think a shirt would be good with The artist muse fabric. I love that Zoe Blouse I think it is. I've been eyeing it off all year. Love your new makes. Inspired by your dress but mostly i wanted to say thank-you for mentioning the Tana Lawn. I have quite a few different pieces of tana lawn and then get scared to use them because of the lack of drape. I think it is a great base fabric to take the most beautiful prints but hard to use. I know it is good for shirts but then worry that they will come up like a pj shirt! 🥴Your info and advice is fantastic!

The artist muse fabric could be wonderful as a duster or long shirt, as you mentioned, it would work fab over you white linen trousers if they are a tad translucent. Thank you for doing these videos, I have really enjoyed them and look forward to your next ones!

Gorgeous duplantier dresses Deb, and pleased you finished making that toile to wear around the house. I will be extending my dress and sleeve length as well. Like that puff sleeved top fabric and sleeves. So many projects on the go and you really do have your work cut out for you Lol. I need to make my Tessuti robe as well, and lve made one each for my daughters earlier in the year. I’m also still trying to finish off a nova coat which isn’t a heavy wool although lined. It’s cool in the deep South Island of New Zealand for awhile yet so there will be some use this year. I’ve seen women in supermarkets in pjs and slippers! NEVER EVER EVER. That would make a nice vali dress as it’s a big print.

I’ve made several Vali dresses Deb, as l do like a floaty dress, and lve made a couple of celestial dresses. I have several other patterns of the designer including the phen shirt, the harmonic set and the mersis dress but l keep getting distracted with other projects or patterns as one does. I look forward to seeing what you eventually make with that fabric.

Looking at my pdf version online files the vali, celestial and mersis all seem to require 2.7 of 145 wide, although the celestial and mersis as a ‘mini’ version require 2.2. Not sure what her measurements are with the mini version and l haven’t printed off the mersis yet ( just downloaded it from my purchase in January). I’m a shocking pattern hoarder! But l do think the designer has interesting lines in her dresses compared to many other Indi designers. I think Gini from The big Sew Along channel made a mersis.

Loving all your plans but I would say that as I have a lot of the patterns myself 😂. You are going to be SO busy. I went out last week with pyjama's and a windcheater and runners. Mind you it was 1am picking up my daughter from the train and its only a couple of minutes away. But not in daylight hours.

Deb, the Tessuti patterns use that method of applying bias binding…it also has the advantage of being doubled!
