Although I believe Kyle Lewis or Corey Ray will probably be named the 2016 Golden Spikes Award winner tomorrow, Seth Beer would get my vote. He was a better overall player and was supposed to be playing as a Senior in high school, but decided to roll into college early.

I'm hoping the Giants take him as we'll probably have the 1st or 2nd pick, but we are notorious for taking pitching and defense so you might just land him lol.
Our OF is looking pretty stacked now. We have Luis robert, Eloy, and Blake Rutherford. Not sure where he would play on the sox. Maybe at 1st and Abreu as DH.

Matthew Weiner the swing is different Harper follows the ball when he hits it and he starts with the bat on his shoulder

A bit stiff on the upper half. Luckily, it doesn't seem to affect his top end speed on defense though. Great swing mechanics too, very smooth/compact/easily repeatable motion.

He's a swing that won't allow him to hit for power on any pitches up in the zone. You can tell that he's gonna have trouble catching up to high fastballs.

Seth was absolutely ridiculous this year. The lineup was supposed to be carried by Okey. Beer was expected to benefit from having Okey in the lineup, but the opposite happened.
He's going to be a great player if he manages to tear through the minors. No doubt first round pick this season

Beer was crazy good this year. Surprised he didn't go the Bryce Harper route so he could get to the bigs early.
I'm surprised too. I've never heard of a high school baseball player enrolling early in the spring semester. Only football players usually do that to practice with the team. If eligible, Beer would've easily been the 1st pick. If I'm him, I'd transfer to a JC and be draft eligible after next season. He's proven how good he is. Do you think he should do what Harper did? Bryce used a wood bat and still hit 31 HRs while hitting over .440

nope. why not jake mangum. he had a .408 batting average .948 fielding %. so what hes only got one home run hes not a power hitter and he like seth beer is a freshman
Soap Box Mangum is a good player, but Beer is a great player. He's on a completely different level than Mangum. It's not even just about the HRs, check the slash lines. Mangum has a higher batting average, but Beer still had the much higher OBP and SLG. He had a ridiculous 62 walks compared to just 27 K's. Obviously, Mangum isn't a power hitter, but his 14 walks isn't helping his case especially she he struck out six more times. The sad part is that Mangum is a leadoff hitter and only scored 40 times. Mangum is a good player and will definitely improve, but he's not even close to Beer.

Eddie Ramos Yeah but Clemson is on a higher stage than JUCO, it's more impressive doing what he does against teams like FSU and USC than teams that a JUCO school would face. Plus he's the kinda kid that will want to get his degree anyway

ETHAN WRIGHT you are extremely stupid. Rholman is great, not taking that away from him, but he is nothing compared to Beer. Not only does Beer put up better stats, he's way more clutch. Just look at yesterday's game against Carolina, Rholman struck out in the top of the ninth down one, then Beer came up w/ 2 outs and 2 strikes and hit a game tying homer. Not even a comparison. At least say Pinder who's been tearing it up lately
