TGS, I should state that Duza the Meteor Cubic Vessel WAS however mentioned in the Dark Side of Dimension Manga Prequel, TRANSCEND GAME... oddly enough used by Sera within Kaiba's Virtual World.
The name Cubic refers to the omnipresent number 3 in their artwork and playstyle. A Cube is made of 3 dimensions: Height, Length and Depth. Like this they captured the idea of dimensions which is a common theme among the source material. Hope that I could help.
I was so happy when he was released, I’ve been a Cubic player since they released and it sucked not having the Cubics to play, but now I play an amazing Cubic deck that I spent a few hours building
This video made me realise how many of the cubics have Vijam-esq parts on their bodies, at least the Kings and the Beasts, (easily seen on Vulcan Dragni, as his main eye is surrounded by Vijam-esq skin) which is fitting since they summon vijam
zadel88 Videos like these is why by no means YGO is a ChildrensCardGame and why i cringe every time by that statement, monsters are based on serious deep freaky stuff, hence more like real life amazing 👑
Wow, I did not know that this archetype is inspired by Hinduism and Buddhism. It only makes me like it even more, not only does this archetype have solid cards but it also has a pretty amazing reference to the Hindu gods. Here was me thinking that we needed Hindu God cards. 😅
I had tons of fun playing Mandala and Rebirth and my only gripe is how hard it is to actually activate Mandala, which is sadly more due to how hard it is to play the archetype in the linear fashion the movie shows.
actually it prevents your opponent from summoning monsters or more monsters and negates all monster effects, and the monsters summoned with that effect loose their ATK and effects like kaiba in the movie.
I think the "Cubic" is referring to how in the movie the Cubic monsters were formed when they were summoned and how they attack. The cubes themselves are mostly for the fact that most people who want to think of "A World that can be Created/Bent/Erased by His/Her Will" the Virtual World is usually the first that comes to mind. as for the fiendish look on the Cubic monsters it's also a reference on how back in the old gaming days, foes that you defeat in one area in a game always mysteriously come back to fight you again when you return to the same area where you found that very same foes.
This is one of my favorite but frustrating archetypes to play. Either you get the OTK or you suffer. You can stall out with Vijam if you get lucky, but that sucks a ton
@@rsookchand919 The craziest part is every to religion is free game but Christianity in Yu-gi-oh. Crosses are often censored along with nudity of any kind when it comes to western TCG.
Another Yu-Gi-Oh trivia done, I really like the series. You think Cubic would be a silly name, but after watching this video you know its meaning. I did learn about Hinduism and Buddhism at school, and Yu-Gi-Oh never stops getting creative with their archetypes. I will give the TCG props for it. :)
I have challenge: Take a shot every time TGS Anime says Cube or Cubic. (Disclaimer: Don't actually do it if you're under the legal drinking limit of 21 if you're in the US.)
Dude, you're still going to die if you drink water in said drinking game. The human body can only contain so much water. iirc, about 1.5-2 gallons of water can kill you
Even more about Vulcan Dragni is that the first word of the name is from the Roman God Vulcan, who is the god of smiths, forging. Metalworking, and fire This could also lead to Vulcan dragni's fire attribute and possibly why it has arm-like blades
Yeah. We seriously need some new cards. A New Fusion Monster and a Monster/ or Spell Fusion that Actually gives access to our Fusions would be a Godsend At this point!
I have played this archetype and made changes to my cubic deck, and there my favorite type of deck to play and I love the videos you have and details for deferent cards and about them and how they work.
Octavia Hutchens because its really gimmicky and there is basically 2 different functions. One half has burn mechanic and the other a beatdown. They really dont mix very well and are super dependant on their plays not getting negated. I used them a lot, and they are a going second deck that I usually brick on if I dont have Crimson Nova. They are fun, but youll lose half your games because you cant make plays
If you look at Cubic Emperors, Kings, Beasts, and Behemoths, you'll notice that they have some body parts similar to Vijam, up to the number of tributes they need (Look at the eyes), except Indiora Death Volt (Although Indiora has *three* legs).
It sucks that my favorite member of this archetype is never used or mentioned in this movie. I'm at least happy with the fact that it was used in the link between DM and DSOD, Transcend Game. (Yes, Duza is my favorite card of the cubic archetype. Then again, it's mainly because of the fact that it was the only one I knew about until now, also because of Duel Links. Even now it's still my favorite)
thecardboardbox L Hey I wasn't the one doing the Berserker Soul combo which I thoroughly enjoyed watching plus my monster is fair see Dartz for example.
The cubic deck is cool. I forced 3 different people into surrender by cheesing Vijam back onto the field. I even forced one into filling their own field and making the extra deck useless. It was a good day.
This is one of my favourite archetypes in Yugioh design-wise. While I too think that the word "cubic" might not be the most accurate to be put in the name of this archetype, The monsters look just so strange and alien, and the integration of a pantheon of deities is just icing on the cake 😁.
Well, this may be a stretch, but cubic can refer to how many planes of space there are in our dimension, 3. And considering it's relation to the ten worlds, or ten directions represents all the possible directions you can move in 3 dimensional, or cubic space.
You got unifications effect wrong. You said it can summon a fusion monster and then “if this fusion monster leaves the field”. It’s actually for any cubic monster which is why cubic players use it with Duza to link climb
Came here after the first DSOD event ended because I wanted to take an educated guess as to what Cubic cards we might see in the future and it is more entertaining than just going to the database. Oh...and if Duel Links can be interpreted as even remotely canon, then Diva didn't use Duza because Sera has it. It probably isn't, but the thought makes chuckle for some reason.
Blade Garoodia kinda looks like a Cubic version of Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, or at least its head does... And actually, a couple of the others could vaguely resemble other existing monsters in terms of visual design too... Not sure it that's just me, though...
The Cubic archetype is one of those archetype on which every aspect of its play is inspired by social cults and gets very weird depending if the one that is using it becomes lucky or not on drawing the core combo piece which is Vijam...... And if you are asking which one are inspired cubics then I should tell you that is Math, little Timmy. If only the others could get an errata on which includes Duza as part of the effects.... It would make them much better.... 😓
Indra is the King of Gods (but he's not as powerful as the Supreme Gods: Brahma, Vishnu & Shiva) The name of the card has the word Emperor in it so this explains its connection to Indra (10:02)

NOphion Trollbringer just sAyInG the “t” in length and depth are mis-placed. for future English uses.
Plus they're all also made up of cubes
Also, in the movie, it looks like they're made of a bunch of cubes that are clumped together to form various shapes
Did you notice that all other cubic monster has vijam the cubic "seed" at the bottom like vijam is a seed
The cubic 3 can also refer to our 3 main Hindu god .🙂
He doesn't seem like a TH-camr, he feels like a friend.
Carsen Tenney That’s how they get you.

Yes
I'm here because, Aigami just came out in duel links

So cubics is just a god card archetype that actually can be played competitively
Basically.
@Casswury Don't forget the Crimson Nova playstyle, obliterating the opponent.
Best in Legacy of the Duelist on the Switch.
"If you're a scumbag-" immediately cuts to Weevil XDDD
Cool to see how much Hindu and Buddhist influence the Cubics have :)
Meewthree you're*
*Ap. Prithvi. Agni. Vayu.*
*Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony.*
*Then, everything changed when the Agni Nation attacked.*
I challenge you to an Agni Kai!
Why am I not surprised
Just looking at these monsters, I would've never guessed that they're based on Buddhist / Hindu beliefs.
well most accurate depictions of deities, spirits and demon would fit with Lovecraft and Gigers styles
They wouldn’t be allowed to exist if it was obvious.
This video made me realise how many of the cubics have Vijam-esq parts on their bodies, at least the Kings and the Beasts, (easily seen on Vulcan Dragni, as his main eye is surrounded by Vijam-esq skin) which is fitting since they summon vijam
They also contain always a number of Vijam in their design that corresponds with the number of cubic monsters needed for their summon.
Afther that cubic shit... I'm not surprised.
