Buying a guitar today you need to keep the sales receipt and make copies. If ever you resell it with an online site now the IRS sends you a tax bill on the amount you sold it for. If you can prove you paid (example) $2,000.00 for a guitar you sold for $2,500.00 they can only tax you on the $500.00 profit, less the sellers fee paid to the online company it sold through. Otherwise they will tax you for $2500.00 less sales fees.
I also have the 61 reissue in aged cherry. Far and away my favorite guitar. I was skeptical of the pickups but I’m never taking them out. Not too hot, clear and no overly boomy like you described in the video.
I have the 2023 SG Standard '61 reissue in the dark Aged Cherry color that looks almost black, and I'm loving it too. One of the best guitars I ever played.🙂
Man, I made a post about how great your 30 blues lick lesson from TrueFire is and now it disappeared. All the guys thinking about it, I say go for it, I usually don’t like online courses, they make me want to rage quit because they’re so frustrating. Your course didn’t do that. Anyway, thanks for putting it out there, it helped me break away from licks I’ve been playing for years. Best lesson purchase I made since taking in person lessons as a kid over twenty years ago.
You have to check his "acoustic cross over lesson" to know how good a teacher he is.I didn't see it in working class guitar but in truefire.Must buy for all late intermediate and even advance player. Thanks Corey.
This is EXACTLY the 61 SG I am saving up for. I was leaning towards the CME black and gold SG Modern because I love the gold hardware but the Modern just has too much crammed into one guitar and it does not have a pick guard. This AMS SG is PERFECT. The 61 SG's are the PERFECT classic rock guitars.
Corey - always love your musical arrangements. Would love to see a video where you talk about how you come up with it. What does the process looks like?
Basically anything lots of people think is “collectible”… isn’t. It people are buying them and keeping them then they won’t be worth much in the future because everyone kept them. New Gibson’s hold value well. But trying to guess what’s going to go up in 30 years is a fools errand. Nobody thought Gibson’s failed experiment with the burst finish in 58-60 would be worth anything.
I bought one of those yesterday with the vibrola. First time I’ve had unpotted pickups. Sounds so much better than other humbucker guitars I’ve had, and I’m doing your licks course on TrueFire. Happy coincidence
Super demo. I have a '21 SG Standard '61 that is killer. Mine is 6.7 pounds of great tone. I'm pleasantly surprised that I've had zero desire to change the stock Burstbucker '61 pickups. I'm typically not into A5 magnets for humbuckers. These are wonderful, however. Simply adjusted 'em and off I went. In my 40 + years of playing, these current USA Gibsons are some of their best yet. I also play a 5.8 Lbs. '20 SG Junior ('61 spec) that's amazing too. Play mine through a JMP 2204 or a baby DSL 5 combo. 🤘Cheers! 🍻
Corey...YOU are the (one) best salesman for Gibson....(or anybody else.....)....cheers mate...and merry Christmas to you.....see you next year again...😀
If it wasn’t a flat wide slim taper and was a round neck I would snag it but I cant do slim taper. I don’t know who actually likes flat wide necks, why would you prefer that over a round neck you can grip your hand around? Otherwise I really love the look and tone, but that neck would kill me. So thats why I play bat guards.. My 335 has about the same neck specs as a bat guard, about .87-.88 at the 1st fret.A nice piece of wood to grab hold of.
Merry Christmas Cory : ) I bought a 2004 Les Paul Standard Limited edition run 1 / 275 numbered. Mine is #154 in flame cherry red. It sounds great and plays a little different than my other four Les Paul's. I have two Customs and one 69 Standard Gold Top (original issue) I like them all. That SG sounds awesome bro. Have a nice Holiday and keep on keepin' on. Peace Los Angeles
@ 1:20 Corey says you'll probably get your money back when you sell a used Gibson exclusive - that makes it a very poor investment actually cos that's a maybe for zero return
Did Gibson ever do anything to stop the neck dive on the SG models? From what I remember from the original early 60's model it didn't have the same problem.
When you went into the Marshall and hit those first few notes it sounded like you grabbed Tony Iommi`s axe in the studio and wanted to try it out. Great Sabbath tone.
Are EXCLUSIVE Gibson Guitars Collectible? Anything is collectible. Now. Are they a good investment? They are only worth what someone is willing to pay.
I find Gibson USA to be far more consistent than Mexican fenders. I’ve played way more good CV squires that “player plus” fenders. I’m saying this as a huge Fender fanboy too. Probably played over a hundred “player plus” strats over the past year, trying to find a good one. I wasn’t able to, they all had an issue of some sort I could t get over. One of them being the Pau Ferro fretboard and horrid fretwork. Granted the CV squires also have Pau Ferro fretboards but they aren’t 1000 bucks. I love rosewood so much I ended up with a CS Strat with a solid rosewood neck. That was a huge digression and I apologize. Anyway, during the same one year time period the gibsons I’ve played have all been completely acceptable, save for one SG that was just too neckdive-y to be comfortable. Gibsons lower end offerings, the “Tribute” Les Paul’s are a fantastic value and I can’t recommend them enough.

I just heard on the news last night that they are not implementing that until January of 2024.
@@joeygentile7829 They've been doing it since late 2018.

I need one for Xmas ! The chimney is wide open! Just hope Santa is subscribed and reads my comments.
I got one of these this past February. A lot of guitar for the money! I really like the pickups. Cory called it right (again)!
Nice!
I always love it when you play a Gibson through your Marshall. That’s THE tone! Great stuff.
Tough to beat!
Gibsons and Marshalls go together like mashed potatoes and gravy.

Great to hear that! Thx so much
Unbelievable playing in the intro man! 🔥

It's a really solid guitar. Best of luck!

Thx Aziz! I could do that someday
Dickey was all about the middle position on his SG.. so this one sounds great

Mighty fine playing my friend.🙂👍
love love love SGs. This one is gorgeous.it kinda looks big man. Is it like, a little bigger build or something?
I’m just small
@@coreycongilio hey, looks cool on you man
It's basically, The sound of Perfection! Thank you for sharing!
Aaahhhh. That’s the best sounding SG I’ve heard.
Corey...YOU are the (one) best salesman for Gibson....(or anybody else.....)....cheers mate...and merry Christmas to you.....see you next year again...😀
😂 Ha! Well thx haha. All the best to you! Thx for the support
Man that sounds Nice ! Merry Christmas Corey 🎅🎸🎶
Great demo Corey, how's the neck dive? I know it's hard to get the balance right with an SG sometimes. Thanks!
Thx! Typical of any SG
Great playing...I'm subscribed
Hey thx! Welcome aboard
@@coreycongilio thanks!

Great collection! Happy holidays to you too!
Thank you for your insight and knowledge, CC!
My pleasure Jeff! Happy Holidays!
This SG ("Satan's Guitar") is very beautiful and sounds absolutely wonderful when played thru the new Fender Blues 40 Watt Deluxe RI.🙂
If the exclusives come with your playing skills then yeah it's worth the money.
Any advice from the pros helps.
Great video great view playing guitar song . 👍. Corey Happy Christmas.
@ 1:20 Corey says you'll probably get your money back when you sell a used Gibson exclusive - that makes it a very poor investment actually cos that's a maybe for zero return
Not in my eyes because I move guitars sideways all the time!

Haha! Yeah that is the tone!
Ah. There’s very little that will be worth more later. But something that has the specs you want and plays and sounds like you want.
Great video I am getting in to guitar 🎸 it is at fun hobby
Sounds like a beefier Tele.
Yep!
Are EXCLUSIVE Gibson Guitars Collectible?
Anything is collectible.
Now. Are they a good investment?
They are only worth what someone is willing to pay.
Too many 'exclusives' at the expense of their regular lines, which are hit and miss mostly.

gibson is mostly marketing!.
Gibson lives rent free in your head.
