A wonderful hotel which never compromised with taste in food. I visit this hotel often whenever I come to Mangalore. Thank you for taking us through Woodlands Restaurant!
Governments come and Government s vanish .....but South canara based evergreen hard working waiters like Mr.Sadananda...work over the years untired to serve the customers in hotels of coastal Karnataka 👍 That is the success of Udupi restaurants throughout the globe!!
I went with my parents and toddlers here in last December. We ordered only tea but the kind waiter got us a plate of golibaje without us asking! We enjoyed it immensely and ended up ordering three more plates. What a heart warming place
I remember my first trip to Mangalore, got down from the train, took the cab and headed straight towards Woodland with my mangaloreian office mate. We reached at 3.15 and had to wait for 20 mins for it to arrive. Got a bit fussy over the delayed service but then today I came to know that they start serving only by 3.30 and It gets over in two hours. Was very lucky one to have it. Loved the goli bhajje. It was a very different experience. Amazing fun. Woodland rocks for this.
Have so many fond memories of Woodlands Hotel. Took me back to the good times and childhood from 90s. It’s been 20 years since I left Mangaluru but none of my trips to this city is complete without visiting Woodlands and Ideal. Thanks Kripal for the lovely episode🙏
*Couldn't help watching twice the Mouthwatering Kashi halwa portion of vlog* 🤤 *Also for those who wish to get the transcript of this Vlog, one can read the comment from Mr Ramesh Ramachandran* 😇

To put an end to speculation about my origins 🙂 I was born in Mangalore and my roots are from South Canara, my parents moved to Mumbai when I was two and that’s where I grew up.
@@FoodLoversTV Speculation of your origin has been our sweet timepass, please don't deprive us of that or make a full episode on your self and end the speculation
Good morning dear Kripal - Bang at 11 Am and the Vlog is out 👍 So nice of tug to have remembered and interacted with Sadanand Shetty 👍 What a determination to close the Woodlands tour by returning back for their famous Goli Baje - The Gold of Mangalore 👍 The kitchen tour was good - wow Kudos to Girish for making the Goli Baje for 25 years with a smile on his face 😀👍 The hot banana fritters ( double -fried for that extra crunch ) literally popped out of the TV 😋 Wow - loved the way you interacted with Mr Ravi Bhatt - first explaining and complimenting the coffee - and the moment Mr Bhatt explained it’s from Panduranga - the child like passion and happiness that you exhibited truly keeps revalidating your love for genuine and good cuisines or a coffee ☕️. Now it’s time to savour the Goli Baje - thanks a bunch for explaining the ingredients , process , texture and the flavour profile 👍 I am a tad surprised that the chutney contains a dash of tamarind ! True that a hot Goli Baje and a spicy thick coconut chutney which plays their perfect partner to enhance the wholesome taste 😋 Oh it’s Nendram Banana - Have tasted quite a few times in Kerala - It has a unique sweet and savoury flavour 👍 What a crunch - a literal ASMR moment 😀 Time for Special Dosae , with Pumpkin and Tomato Sambhar and Coconut chutney 👍😋 Ok - Got it - The Dosa is special because of the addition of Maida to the batter 👍 I genuinely love a spicy coconut chutney be it with any South Indian breakfast or tiffin 😋 Already drooling watching you savour the dishes along with the chutney and Sambhar 😋😋 Oh Kashi Halwa is one truly decadent high calorie dessert which I am sure Boss would gently refuse 😀😀 Nonetheless we love to watch and hear you express your passion be it the Kashi Halwa or an amazing Panduranga Coffee ☕️ Thoroughly enjoyed this super awesome Vlog of the Iconic Goli Baje from Woodlands - Hats off to the Bhatt brothers , staff and everyone involved in making this a memorable experience for you and us 👍👍 Too good dear Kripal 👍👍👍 Take care , stay safe , happy eating and God Bless 👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Rajesh, you must certainly add the Kashi halwa, also known as the boodhakumblakayi halwa to your bucket list if you haven't tasted it already. Tamarind in chutney is rather commonplace in these parts as it balances the spice and coconut richness with its acidity. Have a great weekend.
@@FoodLoversTV Dear Kripal - I have tried Kashi Halwa - In fact it’s one of the staple sweet dish that you may come across in South Indian wedding . In fact we also make it during Diwali. Thanks for your explanation on the inclusion of Tamarind to the chutney 👍 Thank you and wishing you a wonderful weekend 👍👍
