Your hard work traveling and putting these tournaments up got me through the basically all the 2010s. You deserve so much cause so many wouldn't be here without you king.
MarlinPie was such a fascinating player, he seemed to play teams that let him flex his execution rather than the top tier meta picks. I still remember him doing a Doom infinite while looking away from the screen staring down his opponent. The dude was a showman and brought the hype and that's why he was one of the most memorable dudes in the scene for me
I really feels like it was just yesterday that all of these events were happening. I’m so buns at fighting games, but y’all are the reason why I love them so much so thank you.
MarlinPie was the pioneer of killer combos! He was the first one to do them at high level in real tournaments! Love him so much no homo. My favorite player of all time.
It's fun going on this journey watching back these moments and the early days of Team Spooky - remember started watching you back with Final Round... 12-13 years ago time fkn flies. Glad you are still around bringing content to enjoy. Also MarlinPie always brought the hype no matter what game he played - his I-no in xrd was also always a sight to behold.
MarlinPie was the inventor who could then put it into practice (and results!). His methods may have since been even further perfected upon, but you never forget who got it started.
Love you spooky. This was a throwback. When i saw this live i waa in 8th grade learning about the FGC and optimization. Now im +25 still openeing up umvc3 and mvc2 just to make sure I still got these dante combos and ROMs
I love hearing about what these players have moved on to do, like Marlin working on Project L. As a fan who has watched Spooky since the old Guard Crush streams before Twitch even existed, some of these players are like celebrities to me and its intersting to know what's going on in their lives. I would love a "where are they now?" On Chris Hu and Aquasilk. Rush Hour commentary was the best
MarlinPie was one of my favorite players to watch back in prime of UMVC3. Loved his stylish combos and it was cool to see his unique team in the sea of virgils, zeros, etc. I like this flashback series and hope you do more videos like this.
2012 is the best year of FGC. There was a tournament 3 weekends out of every month. I miss the old fgc. Ect4 that year was the greatest tournament ever till this day
Looking forward to future Flashback series videos! Always a treat whenever Spooky makes an appearance on the screen and/or is talking. For what is worth, thanks for making my early FGC days of enjoying UMVC3 and SF4 content memorable! You the GOAT for real!!
You weren't kidding about cheering for joy. Not 2 minutes after you first say that, you, me, PR balrog in the recording, all have a smile on their face because of Marlinpie, what a legend
I play your videos on my front room TV for my roommates and I to watch. I wanna see your channel shine! We all love you AND tastysteve keep doing more.
I was still super green to the competitive scene back then, but there was one thing I knew right away. If Spooky was handling the stream, then you knew you'd see some hype matches. Always felt like you were able to get the best matches on stream. (edit: Also, I remember how hard it was to record UMvC3 on PS3/360 back in those days, wasn't until I bought an Avermedia LGP that I was able to record some clean Marvel clips XD)
Another great match from CEO 2012 occurred in Street Fighter 4. Daigo fought Justin Wong and as some would say "emphatically" went up 3 straight rounds. What happened next? I'll let you watch the video and see for yourself.
There is a little bit of unintended downtime at the end of this video! We are trimming it out, it should be fixed in a few hours.

MarlinPie was always one of my favorites. Him looking away while doing those DOOM infinites and stuff. Dude just exudes cool with everything he does.
He streams. On twitch. Just look up Marlin Pie. Peer pressure him to play Marvel

One of the GOATs that’s not talked about enough
@@Reyban26 he doesn't the credit he deserves. Same with Spooky. He always gave us high quality content with the tournaments since Big Two.
I will always consider you the voice of the FGC when I think about fighting game TeamSpooky is always first in my mind!
You're the goat spooky. There's not a corner of the fgc that was untouched by your contributions. Love the flashback video!

Thank you, I made this video because I also really enjoyed these times,

Will always remember this period in the FGC.

This match made me watch love watching UMVC3 tourneys.
But I need hardcore Spooks. I need a flashback of the PIE vs DIE exhibition.
I can still hear the OOOOOOOOOOOOOH WHAT, WHAT, WHAT, WHAT, WHAT, OH MY GOD
THE most ELECTRIFYING man in umvc3. FACTS 💯
I met Kyohei at Evo 2017 and told him he was one of the reasons why I played UMVC3 so much….he apologized lmao.
Love these nostalgic flask back type videos Spooky!

Awesome series. Spooky showing love to the previous era, the nostalgia is strong here.

Still remember randomly playing marlin pie in tourney for sf4 and winning then getting double perfected in umvc3 casuals lol
I play your videos on my front room TV for my roommates and I to watch. I wanna see your channel shine! We all love you AND tastysteve keep doing more.
Thank you, I want Tasty Steve to be successful too so that is part of my motivation.
Imma check out the rest of these throw backs, keep em coming
My personal favorite vid is MarlinPie Grape Face (without the G)
There's godly execution, then execution without looking at the screen 😅🤯

Thank you spooky
SPOOKY IS A LEGEND!!!
Yo, Spooky! Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks for coming through and supporting it.
MarlinPie is the reason I play Viper. His style/swag points were light years ahead.
This is amazing please keep it going.
Bro legit got me into mvc3 he was so beyond the curve with the tech
Marlinpie for sure had the most stylish Doom and paved the way for the greatest Viper in the world Ig Fullschedule.
Another great match from CEO 2012 occurred in Street Fighter 4. Daigo fought Justin Wong and as some would say "emphatically" went up 3 straight rounds. What happened next? I'll let you watch the video and see for yourself.
Marlinpie fans : He is a character dev for 2xko and directly helped design Yasuo
love this series
Never liked a video so fast in my life and I haven’t even watched a minute yet
Thanks for the support, it's appreciated. Nice to know someone likes these.
The creator of the DOOM TAC infinite correct? One of my favorite Mahvel players 🕹️🤖🍋
He created / popularized many of the popular Dr Doom combo routes. (Including his TAC routes)
been a few years but iirc buktooth discovered it first and marlinpie perfected it.
Fire video my g
Appreciate you, thanks for watching!
i can still hear that guy do the tom and jerry screams a nd sf2 defeat scream
My top 5.. j wong, ifc, marlin, ryan lv, kbr.. to close out a best 10 would be fchamp, chris g, joey d, static alpha, fooblast
