- I really wanted to do something for Gerard now that The Umbrella Academy is on Netflix.
He's an inspiration, not only for me, but for so many other people. He thought that he wasn't going to make it to his 27s, that he wasn't good enough; but here we are. After years, My Chemical Romance is still relevant and is still helping kids, teenagers, adults, outsiders. He gave us The Fabulous Killjoys, he gave us so many things. He created a whole universe saying that it was "Pretty basic", but made it incredible. Now, that universe is going to the TV, thrashing around the competition, and turning into one of the most watched shows.

It's been brought to my attention that people were making fun of the title of this video for some reason?? (This is probably gonna get ss'ed)
I explained why I chose "He made it" and it's in the description.
I've known mcr since around 2006? And I am aware Gerard was already famous when he released TUA, and ofc that helped, even though he tried to separate the two (band life and comic life).
"He made it" wasn't about him or TUA being successful; it was about HIM, how after hitting rock bottom and believing he was going to die, how he thought he was a failure and he wasn't ever gonna "make it", he did. Maybe "made it" wasn't grammatically correct, idk.
As for the phrasing, I don't know if anything I write has gramatical errors or not, english is not my first language, heck, it's not even my second.
I made this because I was happy for Gerard, I'm not an editor or anything (as you can totally tell, judging by the awful editing), and I wasn't expecting to get this many views, I really didn't expect to get any.
That said, I'm happy that some people seem to like this shit that I made a couple of years ago.

It’s honestly so inspiring to see someone who had and still has all these big dreams and didn’t give up on any of them and is such a hard worker and I honestly feel so proud of him even though I’ve never even seen the guy in person. He’s come so far and is still such a hard worker and amazing, inspiring person.
This man deserves the world. He went thru hell and back and still made it. Gee is amazing and I would do anything for him.

Gerard is a natural story teller. It reflects in MCR’s songs, their style, hell, even how the song was structured, the lyrics plus the awesome way the band incorporates the sound on the lyrics to tell a story so perfectly.

I’m glad he is where he is today. if the band wasn’t there he would most likely be gone. hey heaven would have gained one of the best angels that ever lived. thank you gerard for doing all that you do. you have inspired tens of thousands of people to go on with their life and live it. I really really do love you and I can’t explain how I feel. You helped me through my depression. you helped me when I was in a toxic friendships. you really helped me through a lot. thank you. Part of it's probably that The Kids from Yesterday is in the background. That song always makes me emotional. I cried when MCR played it at the reunion.
I'm just so proud of all he's done with his comics.
Season 2 is coming next month and this vid was recommended to me and all I can is I’m in tears right now. I’m so happy for Gerard for achieving his dreams.
I am 47, my oldest got me into MCR when he was a teen, I continue to listen (not sure if does). When I found out Umbrella Academy was on Netflix I binge watched it and eagerly awaited the 2nd season.
I am actually very proud of him from what he went through from drugs and achohal, to a healthy and honorable man. He deserves to be loved

I really want to study 3d animation when I get older and also publish a story I've been writing on in comic style. When I looked for places to study I fell in love with the School of Visual Arts in NYC. When I heard Gerard say he studied there I just cryed knowing that I definitely found a place where I want to go to in the future and something I can aim towards.
