Lisa how would I find Negro family members back in the 1800. It seems to become difficult because they didn’t keep or have on file in Valdosta, Georgia records department of anyone in the 1800s or even the late 1800s. They suggested maybe finding a family Bible I can only imagine my family carrying the Bible years and years and then them not knowing how to have it registered. I do look forward to any advice that you could suggest. Thank you keep up the wonderful work that you have suggested in the past that have help millions of people.

The family tree web sites have lots of records, but they only scratch the surface of what is out there. A genealogist's best tool is a shovel. We have to keep digging.
