- At a rare Saturday session, the House passed funding bills to send aid to Ukraine, Israel, Gaza and Taiwan. It also passed a bill that could lead to a ban of TikTok. Despite strong bipartisan support for each, the votes could pave the way for a showdown over Mike Johnson’s future as Speaker of the House. NBC News’ Julie Tsirkin has more.

Most of the money creates jobs for Americans, for instance we don't send money we send arms that are manufactured. It creates lots of jobs and stimulates the economy. Nearly 3 million taxpayers must work full time for a year to pay their taxes to send to Israel. Israel has free healthcare and education. Think about that.
Total Israeli Aid: $26 billion:
1. Average Taxes paid a year per American Citizen: $10,000 per taxpayer
2. Number of American Citizens Needed: Approx. 2.6 million
Just how many people is that? Imagine the entire population of:
• Houston, Texas, with its 2.3 million
• Phoenix, Arizona, with its 1.7 million
11 million reasons that Biden is going to defeat the taxpayers and they all came from AIPAC.

Politicians don't really want the debt to stay down. They have a system. The inflation the debt causes deflates the debt and the people at the top actually get richer. It only hurts the common person. That's either side, too, not just a Democrat or Republican thing. They count on the fact that the majority of people don't understand how it works, so they can keep scamming. Watch some Ray Dalio videos. He explains it very well.

Under Democrat Presidents Clinton & Biden, the deficit has been cut. Under Republican Presidents Bush & Trump, the deficit has increased by trillions of dollars. Unfortunately, too many voters still listen to the boomers who grew up with big spending Democrats. If more Americans would do their homework, they would realize the Republicans are the big spenders. They talk fiscal conservatism, but they don't budget that way.

@MrRicardo8614 • It sounds like you want a national referendum on spending items, although it's not clear how many and how you would determine which items require a referendum and which don't.
I myself am satisfied with the representative government. The problem with democracy is that you don't always get your own way.
The underlying assumption of your comment is that the majority of Americans would not vote for these bills. Given the wide margin that the bills were passed by, I think that's unlikely. These representatives want to be re-elected, so they probably voted in line with what their constituents were telling them. The votes also match the polling data.

Funding for the southern border was part of the bipartisan Senate bill with funding for Ukraine, Israel, and the Indo-Pacific. That bill had funding for more border patrol, more vehicle scanners, more asylum judges as well as restrictions on asylum claims.
Speaker Johnson refused to bring that bill to the House floor for an up or down vote.
Reports are that Johnson held the bill up at the request of candidate Trump, who wants to campaign on that issue. Supposedly, Trump didn't want the House to give Biden a "win" on the border issue.
