A lot of Gates belts and hoses are made in Poplar Bluff, Missouri which is about 45 miles away from me. My son worked there for several years. My wife works next to the Gates factory at the Briggs and Stratton plant. I like that aftercooler with the NPT. That would make it easy to plumb.
Nice video. I have lost track of how many cuts I've received from those fins on the aftercoolers and intercoolers. You did not mention how much more important it is to drain the condensate from the tank when you have an aftercooler. An autodrain is probably a good idea. Not so important with a single belt machine, but with multiple belts, I would run a straight edge across the sheaves to make sure they were in alignment. I did not have the hydraulic ram like you do, but made up a tool to fit into the belt grooves like a small screw jack.
I made a small jack screw a long time ago. but to many time I don't have to take the belt guard off during regular PM. this hyd cyl simplify s that. Just got a nasty cut saturday. right beside a fingernail. OUCH I did cuss out loud!
Hello, thanks for adding interesting content. Would like to see Quincy playlists in the future. I have a couple new to me basket case Quincy QR-25 pumps that I’m slowly working on and noticed some have a red interior case coating, some do not. I have seen where during rebuild some use red Glyptal paint during the rebuild and some just clean up what is there or remove it. Have seen some engine builders use Glyptal or brown Rust-Oleum Rusty Metal primer in engine heads and crankcases. Any thoughts or perhaps an episode on pros / cons new or existing interior case coatings? Any experience with any coatings failing and causing issues or lack of coating causing issues? How to clean prep reuse etc. Thanks, Jason.
good question. I basically leave the interior of the case alone except for a good cleaning. never saw an need to do any coatings. I will look and see what I can put together in a play list. thanks

This deserves a like just on the use of the hydraulic ram trick alone, and if I could, another for excellent fix'ering content. 👍
