This song is so comforting. I moved out of my home and this song takes me back to elementary to middle school. I used to lay awake at night drawing listening to this song. Just in the dark doodling away thinking my life was so chill. I miss my room i miss those quiet nights. Now im cramped in a college dorm. I truly miss my old life.
This song makes me feel a lot of things...nostalgia,sadness,happiness,maybe even hopeful. The last 6 years have been hard,with losing my sister(governmentally) and having to step into adulthood,this song makes me feel like i was still in the livingroom 6 years ago,smiling and laughing with my sister. Granted it was already so long ago,nothing makes my mind and internal scars hurt more than thinking about those times so fondly. Yet I'm happy when I do.. I wish everything could've stayed,but it all kept changing in little ways,and she eventually disappeared. I plan to stay where I am,but i want her to come home where everything stayed.

i really want a finished version of this song where marceline and her mom was singing together (Olivia Olson and Rebecca Sugar). that 10 seond clip we got in the show made me fall in love with it and i cant find a version with them both in it.
that's actually a really interesting idea. having a more completed version of everything stays with Marceline's mom would provide closure. However, I get the sense that everything stays has the feeling of longing and letting go of the past to move on but still keeping your memories close to your heart. Bringing back the mom would defeat the purpose of that. Or maybe the mom could be a spirit singing in harmony with Marceline even tho she is no longer with her.
