You guys, these are some tips from someone who cut their mile 2 minutes in 1 try: Practice jogging for a straight 5 min, this will help you find a good pace you can maintain for a while. Practice 5 minute jogs!! Try keeping that pace for the 1st 2 laps on your mile. Slow down if needed on the third lap, and really push yourself to the end on the last lap Hope this works! Finding the right pace for you is key for sure, a mile is easy for me at a 10.30mi pace and being in your 40s isn't a limiting factor either as I'm fitter and can run further than I ever did at 46 so don't think you can't do what you could in your 20s or 30s, sometimes it just takes time. Athletes train for years with fitness trainers and nutritionalists to get their bodies in perfect state for competition and records.

great info.. just love you guys and videos! legit information for runners at all stages of the game. thanks holly! wish I would of known some of these tips years ago! ♡
Great tips! I'm a fairly new runner (I've been speed walking all year, but have just started getting into a low impact running) and breathing is definitely something I'm trying to improve on. I was running a 5k the other day and my mouth was wide open and I swallowed a huge bug, proceeded to choke and puke. So I'm rethinking my strategy with running and breathing. Also for those who may have back problems (like me) and can't do those type of sit-ups ..... the Dead Bug run (laying flat on back - engaging groin, lower and upper ab muscles - and moving legs slowly in a low run off the ground while keeping back flat on the ground) is a great core exercise.

Don't worry me to but I'm the only one bc I'm so short and all my friends are tall and fast :+

@@xxcookiedoughxx5584 ha I run a 5:30 mile noobie
So relatable I’m 14 and 4’11 so it’s a lot harder to run
Sebastian Blair don’t worry bro u gonna hit a growth spurt I was 12 and 4’11 then when I turned 13 I grew 4 inches so I was 5’3 now I’m 14 and 5’5 and I’m still growing
I was in the netball school team and had no problem with running, today we had a sports day and competitive runners ran 3km I completely failed, my heart started to hurt and I can't find a way to breathe, this helps a bit
I wish I could run a sub-6-minute mile without getting tired.
Time to get to work! Feel free to check out our other videos for some help.
I just wanna run without getting tired
Yeah it’s not possible
I wish I could run a sub 8
I have my mile next week for p.e on March 3 wish me luck!!!!!!
just keep on training your enurance will get better
I love how all the female running coaches explain breathing and demonstrate it so well.. the males get lost in what they are trying to say to explain the technical side of it they forget how to exactly show you how to do it… then you just feel lost trying to understand what they were trying to show you…
I have cross country next weak for the first pe class back and im fat af. This is gonna be fun
Good luck! Don't Slack off :)
Omg same 😭😭
Your amazing! I am going to follow! I’m in the Air Force and my test is coming up in December. Your prep is going to help me a lot. Thank you
I'm so glad, Ashley! Go get em!
never thought i would need someone to teach me how to breath but here we are 😂
Watched this video 2 days ago and just had a run. Fair to say it helped haha. Longest I could run was .5 miles before the video. Now I just ran 2 miles straight... yeah. It helped haha
I can't walk when I'm doing the mile in pe :(

This was really helpful! Now I know what to do when I have to run a mile for volleyball tryouts
I have the pacer test tomorrow....
Thanks so much for this video ..I am working on breathing and it's a bit hard while standing
I have the mile run tomorrow 😫
I almost passed out last time since we ran in the cold-
How was it? :)
I had to run 2km (little bit more than 1 mile) one time and the first time I gave up because I almost passed out😂
Silena L I got a better time
By 30 seconds UwU
I got 12:30
I’m really unathletic
I get the highest times and I’m usually the 5th to last person to finish
@@sashabraus9527 It's okay atleast you got a better time😉 I'm not good at sports either and I needed 15 minutes for 2 km😂 then I got a 1,25 (1 is the worst and 6 is the best...that was my worst mark in my whole life). I started to run the week before the last week (if it's how you say this because idk😂) and first I set a goal to run 2km without stopping. I achieved the goal last week and now I try to get a better time like 10 min. If I achieved that then I'll maybe run 2,5km and so on.
I recommend you to do this because it feels good if you achieve something you have never achieved before. And it improves your stamina! Your mental health will get better too!
So good luck if you try this :)
I’m barley starting out track my freshman year and this really helps because I’m not the best at it *yet* but this video actually helped me out a lot
I have to run 3 1/2 miles tomorrow for my PE final. Wish me luck y’all. 🙁💔
We believe in you, Gali!
So.... how did go?😁
Thank you so much for these tips! I hope I can improve my running after this.
It is a bit difficult for someone with asthma...
I could never know when it kicks in..
Sometimes I would do a 1500m race and even win a medal without any difficulty...while some other time I can't even walk fast....with getting out of breath...
Anyways a great video
great info.. just love you guys and videos! legit information for runners at all stages of the game. thanks holly! wish I would of known some of these tips years ago! ♡
Holly has a fan there
Soccer conditioning tomorrow. I'll give an update on my mile again. Last time: 11:20 This time: (haven't ran it yet)
The dude at 10:10 😂
