  • If you are travelling between Pattaya and Bangkok's Suvernabhumi Airport you have various choices.
    There's minivans and taxis, but also two 'big bus' services. One, I've reviewed before from Jomtien Bus Station. The second is run by Bell Travel and goes from the North Pattaya Bus Station. It costs 190 Baht and runs roughly every two hours between 6am and 7pm.
    If you pay a bit more you can also get picked up at your Pattaya Hotel (in a minivan) and then taken to the bus station to transfer onto the bigger bus.
    Find out why this service may be better for you. I travelled in April 2024 and can give you all the important details in under 5 minutes!

      A classic song, Peter!! And tbf Bell travel is a fairly classic service. Been around for ages and has always done a solid job, as you rightly point out!

    Another great and timely video for me Peter. I’m leaving next week till next year. I usually take a taxi, but maybe I’ll try this. But I don’t like the small Bell buses as ten years ago they never picked me up when I was going from Pattaya to the airport. I scrambled for a last minute taxi. Luckily there’s too many of them driving around so it’s never a problem finding one.
    Also I’d be nervous having them pick me up and somehow missing the bus. But I suppose that’s rare. The suitcase in the lower rack is a big plus as less lifting involved.

      I didn't know you were leaving! Have a great trip back and see you next year! I still have bad memories of companies that gave me bad service years ago. But I guess after 10 years they might deserve a second chance. Maybe! I think the bus would wait if one of their own vans was running late. But you can never be 100% sure. I usually rely on Bolt to get me to the bus station! Thanks.

    190 baht is a good deal plus the coach looked decent. Better than being in with a mad taxi driver.

    I have used these buses several times. Good value and not that uncomfortable. The alternative is getting a private car via one of the services for 1100 B. A bit pricier, but also faster.

    • @balloonchaser
      @balloonchaser  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, David. I must say I think it's a comfortable way to travel. More comfortable for me than a lot of taxis. But, yes, a taxi is quicker. Just depends on if you are in a hurry, I suppose!

    On arrival into BKK I take a pre-booked taxi to Jomtien for handiness sake but if doing an internal flight or visa run trip thereafter and traveling light I take the regular blue bus from Jomtien.

    • @balloonchaser
      @balloonchaser  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, John. If you're staying in Jomtien, there's nothing wrong at all with the bus from Food Mart. But for Pattaya people, I think the Bell service is superior. Largely depends on location. Thanks for the comment!

    In reality the minibus service is the best option, as a motorcycle taxi will be about 89-100 bt to the bus station from central Pattaya, but without an unprotected ride in the possible event if an accident. The taxi rider didn't have a helmet for me during my last trip to NPBS🙄

    • @balloonchaser
      @balloonchaser  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The minibus is certainly an option. Having said that, I got a Bolt taxi from Central Pattaya to the bus station for less than 100 Baht. The disadvantage with a minivan is they can pick up from several hotels, and that's sometimes a frustrating experience for me!

      @@balloonchaser Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that. Another nuisance is the coach from the airport to Pattaya drops you off near the top of Pattaya Klang, which also involves a little further expense to get to my usual choice of accommodation in or just off Soi Buakhao near the entrance to New Plaza (D-Appartments)

      There are buses all the Thais use to go all sorts of Provinces direct from Pattaya. There are a few on 3rd road just after Pattaya Klang. But you might need a local with knowledge or Thai. I got a bus that is about 14hour journey to the far North East and it sets off from Rayong before the Pattaya stop at the service station fuel filling station on Sukhumvit directly north of Pattaya Klang.

      It's actually inside the big North Pattaya Bus station where other buses go to Ekkamai and Mo Chit. Technically there are occasional baht buses that go down, but normally you'll need to get a Bolt taxi or bike

      @leojonkers3181 Yes, Leo. If you stay near the Jomtien Bus Station at Food Mart, then the bus from there is a good option. Although the Bell Travel bus is definitely more comfortable.

      There is a baht bus up Pattaya Nua North from the Dolphin roundabout. Done it many a time baht bus to Dolphin roundabout 1st. Depends how close I am to Jomtien which is easy. I am basically staying behind Foodmart so this time came to Jomtien as no other transport was needed at any end.
