  • MOTH Light Trap attracts COOL Insects! [SE Brazil]
    Giant moths swarmed this lamp! The lamp Bart Coppens used to attract insects for his research.
    PLEASE HELP!!!! TH-cam does NOT support my channel!! I am permanently demonetised; when people click on my videos, I don't make a single dollar. This channel runs on donations from my viewers for 100% !
    The type of content I make is very expensive and time consuming - such as filming the whole life cycles of butterflies and moths in captivity, which takes months of dedication! I am also an independent researcher, conservationalist, moth breeder and hobbyist, and the funds I raise online go towards my videos, my research & breeding projects that promote the importance and our knowledge of insects and other animals - on social media and in reallife! It helps me make videos, and it helps me help the insects I care about!
    Consider subscribing to my Patreon for as little as 1$ per month: / bartbutterflies - it massively helps! On Patreon, people can buy a subscription. Patrons also get unique rewards, like voting on content, personal FAQ videos, or participating in my videos once in a while.
    Send a single payment through PayPal: paypal.me/BartCoppens - consider it to be like a "tip" if you like my content. Through PayPal you can send a single donation, which will help me produce more videos.
    Send a tip through Ko-Fi: ko-fi.com/bart... - through this platform, users can send small finacial "tips" to support their favorite artists or creators.
    Want to donate with VISA or Credit Card? This is possible too, via LiberaPay, a trusted online platform. My LiberaPay is here: liberapay.com/...
    Did you know that I make custom merchandise such as cards, calendars and more with my moth & butterfly designs? The sales help my channel; find my Etsy shop here: www.etsy.com/s...
    Did you know that on Amazon.com there is a store where you can find ALL the equipment I use and recommend so that you can copy me? My cameras, my breeding equipment, everything! Find my Amazon storefront here: www.amazon.com...
    Patrons & People who have donated can expect to see their names in the credits of my videos sometimes, get shoutouts, or participate in events or special FAQ videos - on top of getting my gratitude of course. Your donation helps me research insects, and helps me spread love and knowledge for them world wide!
    I allow RANDOM followers to send me RANDOM items to my HOME ADRESS through Amazon Wish List! It's super interactive and fun - you can send me anything from video games, butterfly cages, books, energy drinks, breeding boxes, flower seeds for my butterflies, hot sauce, ramen noodles, silly outfits, memory cards, underwear.. it's crazy and hilarious! It is much more personal than donating money, because YOU decide the item I get!!
    ** Please Read How it Works Below! **
    There are TWO versions of my wish list on Amazon, a Dutch one and an American one. If you order through the Dutch website, the shipping costs are very low, because it is my home country! Sending me gifts through USA Amazon is much more expensive on shipping! However, both websites offer DIFFERENT types of items you can ship to me!
    LIST NUMBER 1: (Dutch Amazon) www.amazon.nl/...
    LIST NUMBER 2: (American Amazon) www.amazon.com...
    Anything you send me, I will show off on my channel in a video at some point! If you send me books I will read them! They are items I want or need for my channel, but also some silly things viewers can send me to mess with my life!
    I have a personal website about breeding moths that I am proud of. It has tips and caresheets for many moth species. Here is the link: breedingbutter...
    Find me on Instagram! Here is the link: / coppensb
    Want to e-mail me? It's possible, but I get a high amount of e-mails and spam, sadly, so sometimes I don't notice your message (sorry). My email is: bart.coppens@hotmail.com (do not abuse)
    Did you know I often chat with my fans, have meetups, and chat groups for entomologists? Find my communities here below!
    My Discord server: / discord
    My Whatsapp group: chat.whatsapp....
    Do you want to know how I got so many views and subscribers? I use a program called "Tubebuddy" that generates extra views by adding the best keywords and thumbnails to my videos - it can find the most populair ones. It is free to use for everyone; visit it via my affiliate link: www.tubebuddy....
    This is my secret for getting views & subscribers.

    Even if I say so myself, I'd say my TH-cam channel is quite unique. - Rearing moths in captivity & Light trapping videos! There are not many channels like mine. Unfortunately, TH-cam has permanently demonetised me since 2017 and I do not make any money through TH-cam from the over 1500+ insect videos that I have uploaded! The budget I have to produce this show comes from crowdfunding and donations. Consider subscribing to my Patreon for as little as 1$ per month: www.patreon.com/BartButterflies - it massively helps!

      Why would TH-cam demonetise you? You offer incredible, unique, educational content. I am deeply sorry I am unable to help, as I am a destitute, crippled musician and professional writer.

    Coleoptera are my favourite. I'm currently trying to create a reference collection of beetles in my area. I would love to visit Brazil and do some moth trapping one day.
    Those paper wasps are very cool, such great colours.

      Thank you! While am often Lepidoptera focussed you'll see an arrangement of unusual beetles in my moth trapping videos. I'm very fond of the Chrysina species I find sometimes.

    In case you aren’t aware, the wasp species is known as apoica pallens and are unique in that they are strictly nocturnal! They are one of the few eusocial wasps that forage at night and moths make up a natural part of the diet.

    • @BartCoppens
      @BartCoppens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Normally they don't forage on the moth sheet however

    • @manitobant6738
      @manitobant6738 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BartCoppens i think this (and the fact that some nights they appear more frequently and are more aggressive) may have to do with the fact that A. pallens have different foraging patterns depending on the lunar cycle. When the moon is new or waning they leave the nest en masse in the first few hours of the night while on a full or waxing moon they forage in lesser numbers all night long.

      @@manitobant6738 the behaviour was definitely kind of out of the ordinary , I've never seen them assault insects on the sheet this much (you'll see the wasps too in the other trapping videos, some days they are docile and sometimes just agitated)

      @BartCoppens I’m aware that on TH-cam demonetization can happen to controversial people or clearly breaking TOS, however TH-cam is the most extremely tolerant video platforms. If TH-cam did not give you a reason for “permanent demonitization”, I want to know why you think they did so?

    • @BartCoppens
      @BartCoppens  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LongshotLynx Good question. Their official response is that 'my content is not suitable for advertisers' and it has been so since 2017. I have no TOS violations but it happened around the ElsaGate controversy, they manually reviewed some channels it seems? I even emailed them and they said they can't share the 'rule or guidline I violated'.
