They also need to sign their crowns. I just dont get it man. These are such gorgeous pieces and all they need to do to really make these unrivaled is just add a quick adjust clasp, signed crown, and replace the pins and collars woth screws. Can u imagine this line with that? The complete unrefuted champ. I would honestly buy every single one from the entire line.

Just purchased the black one last Friday on the release date in Japan. I have a green Willard so I picked the black. This is my second Seiko. I usually only purchased Luxury watches until now. I am amazed by the quality of the GMT. It feels great to wear and I love the dial with all information and the date at 4h30. The bracelet is really good and I picked this watch as it has a ceramic bezel. The GMT is interesting but a bit hard to read. But I care more for the 200m/ceramic and overall look and feel than the GMT time. Your video was great. Thank you.

Very good video as always. I purchased the 383. That black dial is a thing of beauty. To me, one of the best looking Seiko divers one can buy. My favorite case is the MM style, followed by the 62Mas. I agree with all your points, and as a personal owner, I have 3 concerns that could've made this watch great, but also understandably would've probably pushed it above the $1500 price tag.
    1. The dial and crown. The dial could lose a line or two of text and the crown for $1500 needs to be signed. Come on Seiko, Zelos does lumed crowns on watches for $500.00. A good move would be to take the X from the dial and use that on the crown. That way we have less dial text (Also remove the 3 days, definitely not needed), we have a signed crown. The X will still identify the Prospex line, and it is a good differentiator from other models.
    2. The bracelet. At this point, I don't even get my hopes up for a good Seiko bracelet, even at over 1K. With folks like Monta, about the same price point as this line watch, they are giving great bracelet's. I don't know why Seiko continues to provide sub-par offerings? Again, even Zelos at sub $500 is offering superior bracelets and clasps. When I purchase a Seiko or Grand Seiko watch, I automatically also purchase an aftermarket strap or bracelet. I include it in the watch budget. It's like muscle memory, I do it out of habit.
    3. The movement. Like their bracelets, Seiko doesn't seem to bother to dial in the movement. Unless it is GS, I don't even expect nowhere close to COSC specs. Luckily I don't buy my mechanicals for accuracy.
I'm still a Seikopath and luckily their designs are still beautiful and the fit is on point. If either of those slips, Seiko may have lost a loyal buyer.

The Seiko Marinemaster case design is one of the BEST designs for a diver in the world. It is just so pleasing to look at. I think that these GMTs at $1500 are very reasonably priced. Nice to see you here @khronokraze!! After your recommendation, I went to Spencer Klein channel, and looked at the 6R movements in detail. They indeed have a lubrication problem. But I think that Seiko has fixed that quality control problem with the 6R54 movements.

It's time to say thank you for this sensational video and also the many other videos, all of which I have already watched several times. I watched this video alone so many times to bridge the waiting time for this watch that I almost have the text memorized 😉The SPB383J1 arrived yesterday and although I already own a few MM200s, the GMT is a wonderful watch. Just as comfortable as all MM200 but visually cannot be compared. Thank you again for the wonderful videos and many greetings from Germany

I just wish they can enlarge the dial a wee bit more and reduce the size of the bezel. The overall size is just right but the dial is a tad too small in relation to it's overall diameter. Having said that I'm sure many will love to own one. Most impressively, there is a quick set date change function. Other far more expensive watches are unable to incorporate this technology/complication in their watch

    • @lockhandel

The whole reason why I love the Seiko Marinemaster is that they have a small dial in comparison to the whole size of the case. I have always found it to be sexy in a way. One of my grail watches, the SLA021, also has a very small dial.

Ceramic bezel again. Good god, they are making these shiny enough to appeal to the average magpie. Circus attractions. Yuck. I'll take a matte sapphire bezel like in my Baltic Aquascaphe or an old fashioned Aluminium bezel like in my SPB317 all day any day.
I cannot express in words how ugly I think shiny ceramic bezels are. When I'm buying a mechanical watch, I'm buying an anachronism, and I don't want something that won't develop wabi-sabi. It's funny you mention Rolex, because they are indeed approaching the ugliness as a modern Rolex.
So when you ask me which colour I'll pick up: I'll steer clear of these releases. Wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole and it's all down to the bezel.

This one is from Nivada Grenchen tropic strap. I think once or twice a week people ask about this strap. I use it in all my videos where I can't size the bracelet. It is fkm rubber and once you get used to it is very comfy. It has quick release spring bars as well.

@@essexnto What a stupid comment lol. $1500 for a purely luxury purchase (anything non-essential is a luxury) which does the same thing you can do on your phone for nothing, is expensive for any normal wage earner.
