I saw it when I was 12. I tell people if you want your kids to NEVER forget you, bring them to the movies or on a vacation. When you see that movie, now matter how many years from that day, you go back to whoever you were with. Same goes for a vacation. God bless our parents and God rest your mother's soul. Certainly something that Paul McCartney didn’t have 60 years back. But she hasn’t got such a following.

I just read the book and it's a lot different from the film.
Despie is Buddy's girlfriend, not Richie's. Someone else (not Chubby Galasso) is Despie's father.
Perry isn't new to the Wanderers in the book. He doesn't come from New Jersey, though he moves there after his mother dies.
Turkey was a nerd who wasn't in any gang. The guy the Ducky Boys chased and killed wasn't Turkey, it was one of the Baldies (who was not half Wanderer and half Baldy, like Turkey was in the film).
The scene with the bowling hustlers happens near the end, not the beginning, of the book. And the Wongs are hardly in the story in the book. They get a brief mention in one the early chapters.

The distance from Fordham Rd to Holland (or possibly Cougar) Ave ... yeah I'm sure most people would've dropped running at that speed the whole way ha ha. My friends and I played in the ally shown at 2:21

I love this it reminds me of Grease, except much more Hardcore. I haven't seen much of these kind of films as you can gather. It doesn't compare to Grease its just the style of film. I think the fight scene is great. But yes probably on roids
