This game is undeniably in the Top 10 blitzball matchups. From start to finish, a nailbiter I will still be thinking about a year from now. The ball was ALIVE in this one, bouncing off faces, backstops, knees, and more faces. Legendary.
Jack doyle is definitely the best player in the warehouse because he can defend with the best in the warehouse he can hit for a ton of power but still having a great average and is undoubtedly the best pitcher in the warehouse. Also Jake didn't hit the homerun "right after" & context matters, so don't dismiss it as if it doesn't. Jimmy said he didn't want Jake to win before the game started. Jake didn't hit the homerun until late in the bottom half of the 2nd inning. Jimmy always prefers the games to be close, so him rooting for Jake in that situation was likely largely prompted by The Story trailing 5-1 late in the game. Just prior to Jake's homerun, Jimmy let it be known he changed his rooting interest from Jake losing that game to instead be that he just didn't want Jake to win the tournament. Either way, Jimmy's rooting for Jake has it's limitations. I rewatched that Jake homerun and there was no actual proof of Jimmy "cheering" as you so claimed. Jimmy wasn't shown or heard cheering for Jake when he hit the homer.

Each player is assigned three base stats (Power for plate strength, Accuracy for hurling, and Clutch for the X factor) with Speed being a slightly different stat. Each P.A.C. stat is scored from a value of -1 to +3. Here's a snippet of my stat assignments. Similarly, Jimmy has fairly tepid stats, but would have the Boss skill, giving him a latent edge in heads-up matchups against non-Boss JM players.

First season of blitzball, or any Warehouse Games, that I've watched. This game has been full of the drama and memorable moments that we crave in our traditional sports. The pitching was masterclass in every facet. From the 22mph loopers to the gorgeous cross sequence from Jimmy. I would love to play this. In the Dominican Republic, there is a game that my cousin showed me and my brother that is similarly played to Blitzball called Pitilla. I'm probably butchering the spelling. Instead of a ball, a thick plastic cap from a large 5 gallon water jug is used as a disc to throw and the batter uses a wooden broom stick as a bat. Can be played with 3 and everyone cycles positions after each AB with Batting, Pitching, fielding. Once the cap stops rolling, a point is awarded to the batter. if the cap is caught in the air or grabbed before the cap stops rolling, it's an out for the batter.

Joez McFly (I believe in) has 15 pitching control, around 43 contact at the plate, and 63 fielding. However, he is a known prodigy with 96 power, 99 poise (2 championships says it all, he comes up in the clutch), but most importantly 99 Aura. When Joez is in the game, everyone else is unprepared and he finds a way to win. This aura rating also determines how good you are at playing the silly position in BIP league, where Joez is an all star. Just for fun, he also gets a 99 in fan appeal and a 110 at being in the fence
