@JAWNDOEmusic SMALL BUT KINDA BIG SUGGESTIONS: i think u should ban defenders from their own crease too - if they step in during the course of a play it could effect the other team gets the ball back should they not score first before whistle blows (like a penalty in the NHL, play till posession is lost/the whistle etc) - if they step in the crease and block a shot etc then its an automatic penalty shot (not from the long range neutral zone but from whatever the PK distance would be (double the width of the goal) so maybe 20ft away BUT it has to bounce first to give the goalie a shot This would force defenders to create more organized plans and create more screens making the longer shots more enticing - also prevents teams from packing the crease to keep the ball out late if they have a lead etc Also maybe a 2point for a shot/3 point for a slap system to even things out
He put all his eggs in the blitzball basket but that's not going to matter if his team is last place in every other tournament 😂. For sure not GM material.
Even with these early rules I think this might be my favorite warehouse game. It’s so simple, fast paced, and there’s so much room for strategy/designed plays. A very simple rule that would solve the “multiple goalie” problem could be an additional box 1.5-2 feet inside/outside the existing one. The offense can’t be inside the outer line, and only 1 defender can be inside inner line. The “penalty” if the defense breaks that rule could be 1 free throw and possession. This is so fun to watch, can’t wait to see other rule changes and strategies by the other teams.
I think having a second line essentially. That only a single defender can enter near the goal. While the outer line shows that the offensive can't enter. I'm only half into the game but it's really easy to follow and a refreshing change of pace.
Perfect rule change, since with the rules right now what stops the defending team from just making a wall across the entire goal? I feel like with 4 people you could block pretty much the entire net without moving, would love to see a team exploit this!
I gotta admit I enjoyed this first game more than most of the entirety of Blitzball Battle 4, more action, more chances for everyone to shine, more actual goals and interesting strategies and less waiting around for someone to get a hit after 50 balls thrown.
@@edibleapeman2pretty sure he was tanking just floorball based on the draft video. Jolly needs points in slap ball if he wants a chance at not being relegated..
He kept pump faking shots like it was basketball. Except you cant throw shots in this game unless at mid court, so what is the point. Fake dribbling or fake passing near goal is another thing
He's gotta be off the goal line, cut the angle down and he saves those, but being so deep on the GL and tight to the post he left like 95% of the net open
As a handball player, I respect the initiative here. Looks like it’d be fun to play for sure, but def some improvements could be made, for example defense not being able to be in the crease as well (like in handball). The freeze rule is funny love that.

Allowing a team to play with essentially 4 goalies when on defence feels bad to me. I think defending team should also be limited to 1 player inside the goal area to reduce how tight a defensive team can play to their goal

If it's too big of a problem maybe make the restricted crease bigger bc it seems to me like throwing is just objectively better than slapping in its current state but maybe I'm wrong
I think they would benefit from reducing the number of defenders allowed in the crease also. Maybe make some kind of penalty slap if a second defender steps into the crease to reduce how tight a team can play to the goal.
@LETZGONHLdraftI feel like that's too complicated to keep track of. Reduce congestion by making the attacking team leave a player behind in the defensive zone. The defending team must likewise leave a player in their offensive zone. Attacking team have a 3v3 with the option to pop the ball back out for a quick throw. If the defensive team can make a quick turnover and pass, the counter-attack becomes a 1v1 breakaway. My two cents

Is there a shot or pass clock? What is stopping a team that is up say 6-2 in the 2nd period to basically just rag the ball the entire time without attempting shots or passes to run out the clock without giving the other team possession? I know you can call freeze but you can only do that 2 times and only if the player is in the neutral zone so it wouldn't be effective to prevent such "don't do anything and retain possession" style of running down the clock.
I think the players are aware that would be awful content so they're not gonna abuse the system that way, probably just a gentleman's agreement to keep things moving

Very interesting and has potential. The one change I would make atm is having the designated goalie be the only person allowed inside the crease so if the goalie can't get back in time that's to bad😂
I think there needs to be a step count of like 3-5 steps when you have the ball. Someone can just run back and forth and back and forth and waste so much time
But not once they’re past the neutral zone. The only defense that’s played is just a bunch formation in front of the goalie. If they made a step limit it would get more people involved and steals and team defense come more into play. Lou dab was the only one with a steal and could potentially be the only steal of the tourney
The complaints about the crease issues make sense, but I think this falls a lot on: a poor draft from Jolly a poor strategy being very one-dimensional They seemed to play a really tight def around the crease cus that's the only point of attack. There was really only one instance where Dalton and Joez were goalies at the same time, which could be just some growing pains. Maybe instead of expanding the crease, since it hurts slaps to do them further out, just make a zone roughly the width of the net and about a foot out and have that be goalie only so it marks a switch from Dalton to Joez
We played a game outdoors like this called trash ball. Small ball… 100 yard field. Tackles. Once tackled you had to spike the ball so that it went in the air and both teams had a chance at it. It was amazing! This is is basically handball but less European…
Great new game! Only thought is should the offense have a shot clock? Feels like once a team goes up there’s nothing stopping them from icing the game just passing around
I'd recommend changing the shape of the crease to an arc or trapezoid as well as adding a rule preventing how many defenders can be in the crease defending a shot.
Jolly’s gotta be the favorite for relegation at this point. Skunked in BIP, this team looks lost, and traded away all his floorball picks. Getting late early
He's also putting a lot of eggs in the Blitzball basket, which is...definitely a strategy when Jack is one of the captains and who also happens to have the first round pick.
My constructive criticism on your rules so far. The crease violations are right but overturning calls on replays without a challenge, while you can barely see if a thrower crosses the line into the defensive zone on replays is tough. Also, are the throwers feet set or jumping on quick throws on open net? 18:38: Lou at 19:51, Zoe at 31:59, Rob, I'm sorry, I missed the time on your throw on goal, Lou 31:59 good plant but jump throw, Jake at 34 mins. You made the crease rule and enforced it, but your player must plant feet to score rule wasn't. Also Jimmy what is you doin' baby? Matty should be making final decisions on replays, because you are a competitive competitor. I like that about you. It's just a bad look for a new sport. Hope this helps for the next tournament.
I think the biggest change to help is changing the throwing rule. I think it should only be an instant turnover if the throw reaches the crease. If it throw is stopped before the crease it should be allowed to be played like a live ball
One defender in the crease if a ball is touched by a defensive player. This allows goalie switches but gives the offense some shooting angles. If touched by a defneder with 2 in the crease its a 1 v1 shot from half court. Also having the ball be dead only for throwing team would be cool. It stops the rebound issue for throwing team but could lead to a good block leading to a quick counter. Defending team could be required to do a self bounce to basically declare they are "playing it" and that would give the throwing team a second to get back.
If you watched the video where they drafted the teams (and there's a short on this too), it's the end of the draft and Jimmy offers Jake a trade where Jake moves up 2 slots in floorball, and they swap their entire Slapball teams. And hearing Jimmy on commentary this game repeatedly praising Jake's team only underscores his initial instincts: Jake drafted a winner.
Because of warehouse games I've been playing floorball since December as a goalie as i had never heard of it and i love it. now because of the warehouse i now know a game i can use as a warm up as theres not gonna be a local slap ball team 😂🏴
I feel like you guys are destined for a shot clock, every shot on goal results in a turnover anyway, so in order to force offense, promote late game comebacks, and prevent running out the clock, it just makes too much sense, maybe allow a reset by bringing the ball back into your defensive zone, but limit it to 2 per possession
You may have to allow pass slaps while moving (not jumping of course.) in order for the smaller guys to use their speed as once they are planted it's much easier to defend a smaller motionless target as opposed to the larger guys who can slap from above. Sport has some potential for sure!
I agree with a lot of the comments. Coming up with a new game is hard. But there has to be more rules for how the defense can be played. The goalie shouldn't be allowed to to cross midline. Also there needs to be a limit of say 2 defensive players in the goalie box when a shot is taken. If that rule doesnt get added then every team will follow suit and just stack the goal. You could make it like soccer and say if you are not the goalie you cant use your hands to block shots on goal. However i know yall have thought about all this and we know it will only get smoother as the season progresses.
The defense is too limited, since there’s no dribbling or forced passing the defense can’t do anything but collapse near the net. So if you implemented ultimate frisbee-like rules where you limit steps and require passing it would up the pace a bit.
Much like when I'm choosing a bottle of wine at the grocery store, I pick my favorite JM Warehouse teams based on the most Italian sounding names. Let's go Goodfellas! Andiamo Ragazzi!
The fact that I’m rooting for these teams and this sport makes me happy that I have something actually entertaining to watch in the spring other than baseball
congrats on inventing another banger of a game Love the two bounce rule and the "freeze" Also good for Joez and Dalton, great game for them Jake and Lou Dab have great CHEM
I think this new 'sport' has some future in it. But here are some things I would edit: I would add the rule that the clock continues to go and no stops on a goal kinda like soccer. The only ways you should stop the clock are on a freeze and replays. But other than that, you keep the clock going. Another thing about the creece, maybe you should have a pickleball rule where you can be inside and slap the ball as long as your feet are in the air. You should allow spikes from the air when this should happen. But if you grab and catch the ball and your feet land either on the line or inside, that should be a penalty which comes to my next point. When this happens, the opposing team should get a penalty shot with just the shooter and the goalie and no other interferences. This should not take any longer than 5-7 seconds. If they do, the shooter gets a warning and I'd say two warnings and he is out the rest of the game. If he goes 10 seconds or more, he should be kicked out of the game and into the first half of the next.
Suggestion: distance shots from the neutral zone count for 2. Right now, there’s little incentive to try a distance shot and a big negative (i.e. if failed, it’s an instant turnover). A high risk play should have a high reward to incentivize attempting it imo.
Great video! I have a slight suggestion for the scoreboard graphic; when someone scores and it has their name, a hyphen, and their total goal number, I think the goal number would be better in parentheses. I kept reading them initially as negative numbers
If attacking team have too many players in a zone, they give away possession. If defensive team does, they give away a penalty throw from behind the half line.
Honestly, I think there should be a shot clock because essentially each team could take up the whole half playing in in the rulebook or in the introduction. They never stated something about shot clock, so… Maybe they could introduce that
Interesting sport concept. I see three potential issues however. First no shot/play clock seems like it could cause issues in closer games. What's stopping a team with a one point lead from running out the last minute? Second the having to be set on a slap pass. The defense has the advantage on the slap at the moment because they can enter the crease and the offense can't. That plus the getting set rule means a slap score always has to beat a double team minimum. Thirdly is the two defenders in the net, it feels like there needs to be a one defender acting as goalie at a time rule. And if the defending team wants to switch goalies there needs to be a transition rule.
25:52 Question on the goalie rules, since Dalton was protecting the net in place of Joez, how was Joez able to just run in and block? They had two goalies at once. Is there no limit to how many defenders are being a goalie at one time?
Some suggestions for award names: Best thrower could be rope sniper or net worth Best passer could be Slap Searcher or Palm Passer Best slapper could be Napalm or Tap-in Merchant Best goalie could be Brick Wall or Pipe Wizard Best defender could be Hyper Knight or Slap Stopper MVP could be Spank God, Slappy Hands, or Slap Happy
Love the game. Instant classic! I am a tad confused about the instant turnover after a shot rule - there were times when the ball bounced off a defender or the goalie and it sounded like it was still a "live ball" but other times it is a turnover. So just a little clarification on that would be awesome. More advanced things might be a five-second rule that a person with the ball has to pass it or shoot within five seconds and a 30-second shot clock for the team - it did not impact this game, but I could see a team sitting on the ball. Love it though and looking forward to the rest of the season!
In defence, you 100% need to set up like your playing defence for lacrosse. Play the zones, pick your man and the keeper calls where the players and balls are.
That performance has gotta be rough after finishing last in Ball in Play and COMPLETELY punting on Floorball. Jolly is as close to relegation as one can possibly be after the first game of the second event.
I'd like a rule akin to football special teams play where the following a throw the defending team can grab it and counter, but the throwing team can recover it to force a dead-ball restart. I like the game, excited to see a more competitive contest, but I don't love the amount of stoppages atm.

SMALL BUT KINDA BIG SUGGESTIONS:
i think u should ban defenders from their own crease too - if they step in during the course of a play it could effect the other team gets the ball back should they not score first before whistle blows (like a penalty in the NHL, play till posession is lost/the whistle etc) - if they step in the crease and block a shot etc then its an automatic penalty shot (not from the long range neutral zone but from whatever the PK distance would be (double the width of the goal) so maybe 20ft away BUT it has to bounce first to give the goalie a shot

I think the goalie rule could be fixed with a trapezoid like how hockey does it. Having a trapezoid inside that box could fix the 2 goalie rule
I think having a second line essentially. That only a single defender can enter near the goal. While the outer line shows that the offensive can't enter. I'm only half into the game but it's really easy to follow and a refreshing change of pace.

I think there needs to be a step count of like 3-5 steps when you have the ball. Someone can just run back and forth and back and forth and waste so much time
But you'd have to throw it back out of the defensive zone so there is sort of a defacto step limit
But not once they’re past the neutral zone. The only defense that’s played is just a bunch formation in front of the goalie. If they made a step limit it would get more people involved and steals and team defense come more into play. Lou dab was the only one with a steal and could potentially be the only steal of the tourney
The complaints about the crease issues make sense, but I think this falls a lot on:
a poor draft from Jolly
a poor strategy
being very one-dimensional
They seemed to play a really tight def around the crease cus that's the only point of attack.
This is probably the last Dan Canobbio content until Blitzball Battle V. Pain.
Too bad he didn't show up in this video
I WAS HERE FOR HISTORY
We played a game outdoors like this called trash ball. Small ball… 100 yard field. Tackles. Once tackled you had to spike the ball so that it went in the air and both teams had a chance at it. It was amazing! This is is basically handball but less European…
Should be a shot clock
Agree
nah its fine.
Yay
This game has a ton of promise. I was entertained.
I've been waiting to see Jake play on the same team as Lou, and they got Dalton too!?! Awesome 👌 joez cool too
Great new game! Only thought is should the offense have a shot clock? Feels like once a team goes up there’s nothing stopping them from icing the game just passing around
I'd recommend changing the shape of the crease to an arc or trapezoid as well as adding a rule preventing how many defenders can be in the crease defending a shot.
this is like basketball for people who aren't tall or jump high, can't dribble, but can throw and/or slap... i love it
Jake’s creativity and Dalton’s ability to launch it from the neutral zone is going to make the story a problem in this sport
Joez this may be what you were born for. The size advantage in this game is real my guy is a immovable object out there.
24:12 Was that someone singing “Immigrant Song” in the background?
Idk how it can’t be fixed but I feel like 4 goalies shouldn’t be a thing somehow implement a rule only one defender inside the box
Because of warehouse games I've been playing floorball since December as a goalie as i had never heard of it and i love it. now because of the warehouse i now know a game i can use as a warm up as theres not gonna be a local slap ball team 😂🏴
there needs to be a shot clock!!!!
This was WAY more entertaining than I thought it would be.
I just love seeing Lou and joez actually winning. Good job to the story, really like their style of play.
Can see this getting refined and improved, but love it so far.
congrats on inventing another banger of a game
Love the two bounce rule and the "freeze"
Also good for Joez and Dalton, great game for them
Jake and Lou Dab have great CHEM
I think the goalie space should be a half circle instead of squared
Would be interesting if throws were 2
I think this new 'sport' has some future in it. But here are some things I would edit:
I would add the rule that the clock continues to go and no stops on a goal kinda like soccer.
If attacking team have too many players in a zone, they give away possession. If defensive team does, they give away a penalty throw from behind the half line.
This would massively restrict offense, plus if you want you could just do this strategy anyway.
Honestly, I think there should be a shot clock because essentially each team could take up the whole half playing in in the rulebook or in the introduction. They never stated something about shot clock, so… Maybe they could introduce that
I really enjoyed this. It's easy to follow
you need to be able to shoot on the run. forcing the shooter to be stationary just kills any fast breaks
Some suggestions for award names:
Best thrower could be rope sniper or net worth
Best passer could be Slap Searcher or Palm Passer
Best slapper could be Napalm or Tap-in Merchant
Best goalie could be Brick Wall or Pipe Wizard
Best defender could be Hyper Knight or Slap Stopper
MVP could be Spank God, Slappy Hands, or Slap Happy
Super excited for this season!
That rule is taken straight from team handball
On throws if it's not a goal it's a turnover, on a slap it's a live ball unless it hits the back wall.
@@IAmDroot Thank you! That makes a lot of sense. I appreciate you making that clear.
In defence, you 100% need to set up like your playing defence for lacrosse. Play the zones, pick your man and the keeper calls where the players and balls are.
i feel like they should look into like three second violations or something like that with only one player to be goalie in front of the goal
Definitely see the potential for this game once teams figure out good strategies.
you need a defensive three in the crease rule.
That performance has gotta be rough after finishing last in Ball in Play and COMPLETELY punting on Floorball. Jolly is as close to relegation as one can possibly be after the first game of the second event.
The story has me very excited for slapball
@8:26 you can see it doesn't cross the line - you got to add the hockey style top-down goal line camera.
I'd like a rule akin to football special teams play where the following a throw the defending team can grab it and counter, but the throwing team can recover it to force a dead-ball restart. I like the game, excited to see a more competitive contest, but I don't love the amount of stoppages atm.
Personally I think only one defender should be allowed in the crease at a time
