Thanks Joseph ... I bought the wall mount because it will be barely noticeable and I am confident it will solve various wifi weak signal problems here. I also had to buy a longer Cat8 Eth cable to simplify the setup, BUT ... cost? total is $28. And about 45 minutes of my time to get everything installed and tidy. Thanks for your great content.
I just received my long wall mount kit and when I opened it, I found that they sent me a used one. There was no cardboard in it like there was with the dish and the wall kit for the cable. The worst part is that I’m missing the screws and clips! I finally figured out how to send in a support ticket! It’s ridiculous that he doesn’t have a call-center! According to one of your earlier videos, I could be waiting up to two weeks. I’m going to take your advice and post every day to hopefully speed up the process. If the booklet had of listed the dimensions for the screws, I could just go to the hardware store and buy them.
I just bought two Ver 3. from Spacex offer. They have 2 RJ-45 ports. One is a replacement for the Ver 2 and the other, a mesh unit for the barn. We shall see how this works.
You are a brave soul - my wife would choke me out if I didn’t use a level to confirm placement before I nail/screw anything into a wall she could see😂 Hats off to you, another great video.
Not a typical JCHRISTNA 5 star video, only 4 stars this time. I am not complaining, just leaving the feedback you need to know. You are still my top guy!
Nice product demo. I used a third party mesh network from Netgear with SL in bypass mode. It's a few years old, but it does the job. Aside from clearing up some shelf space I don't see a use for this. Maybe when I build my data closet.😊
Actually, I ve had this since May and find that a single WiFi modem works fine, however I brought an additional modem to mesh and that also works very good the main router is in basement and projects fine through the floor on our small home 1000sq ft
My starlink router is sitting near my window since I wanted my starlink around my backyard. Also I would recommend splitting the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network since there were parts of my house where 5 GHz can reach but my phone would just use 2.4 GHz instead.
So I have NETGEAR RBK753-100NAS AX4200 Orbi TriBand WiFi 6 Mesh. I run 3 satalites. The coverage is great, I litterally have coverage about a 7 acre radius around my house with no outside satalites. The issue i have had, is when trabsfering PC to PC or PC to server the back haul Is never advertised speeds of 600-800Mbps. It seems to always rest around 140Mbps.
I’m currently Deco mesh with 3 nodes on my boat. Right now I have no interest in increasing the WiFi speed to 6, 6+, or beyond as I have no devices that can handle those speeds ( will get a new iPad Pro in the spring). But even then, I’ll wait for the prices drop before changing the router.
Great video. Still debating on how to mount dishy. I currently have rigged up on deck. Considering going with the pole option connected to deck or the mount for the peak of the house and running cable through existing satellite dish hole. Only problem is how to run my cat cable. House is on steel beams and has insulation with black covering in between rafters. Ughhhh. Any ideas?? Thank you for the content
I have to ask. I have a few neighbours that are installing Starlink. Everyone that starts a new install or reinstall theirs causes me to receive a require to allow a mesh network. I say no to the message but those request can not be deleted nor is there an option to ensure I will not get another request.
Can I use my new starlink router as a mesh network extender with my old starlink router? If yes how do I do that? I plugged in my new router and I can access it but I can’t figure out how to connect it to my old router
I have a tp-link ax11000 router and wanted better wifi around my house. I picked up a mesh system. I returned the mesh system, because my signal was marginally better in some areas and worse in others. My router sits high on an open shelf. I took my wifi extender from my garage and got about the same wifi as the mesh, but I was hoping for magic, I suppose.
Well, it appears my gen 1 router ethernet port quit. I think it's been going out all week since I've been having trouble. Starlink is sending me a new dish.
We use deco axe5400 with a TP-Link 16 port unmanaged switch. We have a few of our points hardline and it does amazing. Set up is user friendly, practical sets itself up, this system was overkill, but it’s amazing and we can expand it as needed(cameras, NAS, Poe items). I put my starlink as high as we could before but now with the mesh system we are good to go. Definitely could have used that stand before the mesh system set up 😂
Having slow connection issues slow speed when checking on Starlink app but get faster speeds when using any other speed testing site In the advanced settings on Starlink app in the debug section under status all the dots are green but 1 and it says ( slow earthnet lan link ) what does this mean. Are they referring to my switch that powers my outside WiFi antenna?
I’m wondering if the switch I installed for my other device is bad or could it be the wired connection. The router I have only has the 1 port so I had to buy the cable with an external port to connect to. Could this be why I’m getting a slow lan link connection
No Starlink router here but I’ve got a cellular router. I turned off WiFi and feed internet to a FireWalla firewall router that feeds two TP-Link access points in a mesh network. The FireWalla router allows me to block whole domains like cn, ng, in, and ru. It keeps a record of all uploads allowing me to block all the suspicious ones.
Thanks for another great video JC. I assume doing the same thing with my mesh node will have the same results? We are in a 2400 sf home on two stories main router is on the main level and mesh node in the basement. I am thinking of getting two of these brackets to mount both up high.
I have a related question. My home has metal siding. I have plenty of signal everywhere inside, but it falls off dramatically outside (likely due to the metal siding). I have several old routers that I could use as point of access to extend my signal outside, but I live in a very cold climate. I live right on the US/CA border at 4,000' (1,220m) elv. Last winter we hit -36F (-38C), so ya it gets bitter cold here. Just sticking a router or any PoA device outside will likely not work long. Are there any other options for folks like me? I did try to find out if there is an option to just run an antenna outside, but did not come up with anything.
I use a TP-Link outdoor AP as seen in my video description which has worked over the course of a few hurricanes.. Not sure about the cold but I would not doubt they would work. You can also build a box / enclosure to keep the elements at bay.

We have a large house though and it includes the in-law suite.😊

😂 honestly. I can see within mm. Just too see how far off I was. Maybe I’ll put a level on it to see and take a picture of the phone. 🚀🚀🚀🚀

@@jcristina Do you know where l would get a mount for gen 1.

Does Home Depot currently have the best price on Starlink equipment ? Any suggestions appreciated. Its presently selling at 599.00 👌🇺🇸
I believe they are $599 everywhere in the US.. That said, Canada has them "CHEAPER!"
Visit Canada or buy from canada
Hello, So the Starlink mesh router could be used as a main router in case the original router malfunction?
Yes
Yep.
Followed up online and couldn't find a version for V3. Guess someone is working on one..?
V3 are for v1 users to upgrade to. V2 can not get the V3 router currently.
I have 2 of the v3 routers (that I upgraded to from v1) that I need to hang on the wall... @@jcristina

What about 6 acres doesn’t reach
So had super slow speeds brought to Starlink attention they send new router from 10 mps to 150 mps
Bob Villa can take a few lesson from you!! 😊👍🏽
😂
Ranges suck in cement houses.
Hello! The position of your lighting causes your cap to generate a shadow on your face that is too dark and makes your face look strange. greetings.
Thanks so much for that.. I'll keep that in mind in the future.
Starlink ping is not stable 😢
Only if they could make a long range Starlink router
WiFi 7
get a scan so we can 3d print it.
I don't have a method of doing that but for under $20... I think supporting the creator makes sense.
Wow starlight about 10 mbs that is pretty pathetic when are they going to step their game up
Hope soon.
Starlink router is blah. Don’t use mine at all just use the pro dishy into wan 1 on my commercial router then use my own mesh.
It’s maybe fine for an apartment but I cover several buildings on several acres and yeah that’s not enough.
Are you setting your Starlink to bypass or do you have a gen 1 and plugging you cat cable from the dish directly into you third party router?
@@jcristina not using the router at all from Starlink. I’m right into the dish with the the-45
@@jcristina I’m running the high performance kit.
20 minutes to tell us to raise our Starlink router, what a waste of time!
Let’s face it Starlink router is garbage so you buy their mesh system
Or use a third party instead.
