You can tell that mud was going to be tight by listening to the truck hydraulic pump working hard. The drum revolutions were pretty darn slow when adding water. Might not be getting a good mix when adding water. Is driver really putting in amount of water requested? Check water gauge to see if his tank is full then check after add water. Drivers chutes look like he don't care with all that build up. Maybe his fins are the same way creating more heat inside drum heating up your mud. Last but not least your supplier might be reselling old mud left in the drum from last job. That's BS if they are. Another thing are they using reclaimed water in the mix? That will act like daraset and go off like crazy. I'd be calling the batch plant and be adamant about no left over concrete, no reclaim water on slow pours or while you're training especially. Yeah first thing you want to do is have an ear for the mud and listen for the trucks hydraulic pump working hard. You can actually see the truck rocking back and forth with stiff mud rocking and when its wet it smooths out and the barrel has a nice revolution spin to it. If that driver put in 60 gallons on a 6 yard load it should have changed the slump by 10 inches. 6 gallons would be one inch right? From a 3 inch slump that would have been slop. That didn't happen did it? Sucks when you don't get what you ask for in a slump and good fresh concrete. Hope your trainee makes it, seems like a good kid.
Yes because recently I put 40 gallons into 5 yards myself and it barely got any looser then blew up. Not a fun mix but a fun mix at the same time. I changed the mix up I either need a plastisizer or retarder to counter act the 2 lb a yard micro fiber. So I just took it out for now as plastic shrinkage is least of our concerns at this point. I will re introduce it next summer in a different fashion. Thanks for the comment. Mostly the problem is a rich dark concrete that seems to have a bit less working time and with a bunch of micro fiber in it it just blows up and doesnt stay wet. Not sure why they brining me 2 inch slump but they have stopped for now. Well we will see tomorrow again I got 20 yards coming.
@@CONCRETEMANtv thanks for the reply. Yeah that micro fiber can hold the mud together somewhat, a retarder would help. You guys use much fly ash or just straight cement? You are missing assuming a lot of information. I told him that was his pad and I wasn't going to help.
The pour was easy.
I couldn't reject the concrete because every load they bring is that terrible and needs a mass amount of water and the concrete sucks.
Probably more details youre missing but hopefully that gets you a better understanding. Thanks for watching.
No chance it was 60 gallons of water for 5 yards.10 gallons max
Did you watch the video? It is literally documented with video evidence..
Aye man you need some help in trying to relocate and have a job ik concrete work
Hey brother maybe down the line you never know.
No doubt man where are you out of im from iowa
That little patch was easy work I used to be on road crew we be patching the roads
KCMO
@@faustoperez4736 so easy. I think a lot of people dont understand how easy that was suppose to be for him. He wanted me to do it for him. All of it. 2 months in I wasnt having it.
When you watch a few Victory videos and think you can pour concrete 😂
Or over 20 years experience.. I think you are missing a lot of context and making a lot of assumptions.
You know what they say about assumptions yeah?
@@CONCRETEMANtv Idk what I'm more surprised by.. the fact you uploaded this video or that you expect me to believe you have 20 years experience.
@@MrC9Oh3 I will not sugar coat anything in fact I would rather edit more interesting then it actually is if I can.
Lol you dont get it do you. That was smooth day. Nothing was hard about it. At all. Except for the training.
You shovel it
Kids today- no work ethics!
I would like to see you have 1 more guy that knows what hes doing while you get the new guy all trained up. He needs to learn to rake mud before he learns to finish it. Good job though and very entertaining. Thats just my 2 cents
Been trying to hire reliable finisher since last winter. Seems no one wants to work right now..
Thanks for the comment.
People should not be given a tutorials in this trade when they don't know what they're doing themselves this was amateur hour at its best!!!
Show us big guy!
So, is this a parody channel? I am unsure. Other than that, it looks decent.
I just exaggerate what happened in title and TRY to edit it as entertaining as I can.
Trust me I plan on doing some concrete parodies though. Texas Barndominium has a great one.
@@CONCRETEMANtv I look forward to this. Sounds interesting. Is your help really that incompetent? - That seemed very painful to manage lol.
@@BattlestarCanada He is 23 years old his second month in never done anything like this in his life.
So INCOMPETENT is an understatement. Which is why he is going through the training he is. Accelerated training lets call it.
@@CONCRETEMANtv We all needed someone to kick our ass into shape at one point or another, I am thankful for the man who took me on. If not for him, I would be useless at my trade.
They are sending you peoples left overs
nah just terrible concrete from this particular supplier. Consistently terrible. Thanks for the comment.
Stop complaining at least his at work helping ...
Sorry bu there is no way that was 60 gallons
I have another video with 5 yards where I personally put 40 gallons in.. Barely loosened it up and still went off. not fun concrete around here. Or fun depends how you look at it..
When you have 2 pounds of micro fiber per yard the fiber takes all your water away. Crazy af
Too much job for two guys.
Next time use some concrete retarder, much better than a lot of water.
Retarder costs money and can add more issues then it is worth as it can make the concrete sticky and other issues. It wasn't hard to do. But I have to express what is going on as a teaching tool. Good times thanks for watching.
You’re very disrespectful/poor training to anyone that comes to work. Pouring square is basic work and nothing compared to what victory does . YOU lost this , take accountability smh
Pouring round or shapes is not inherently harder then a square. Setting the forms takes the knowledge of how to do it. But other then that its the same thing. Tight radius can be a little tricky to edge. But you can find examples of me doing here on this channel. Thanks for the comment. Though I can't agree with your sentiment.
You pour like a joke son. Learn better batch profiles and use a silica based surface film to aide your slab and workability. Oh and use water reducer..... you added far to much agua
I worked with the supplier changing batch over 10 times with no success. Ended up having to buy a bunch of special equipment and products to remedy the problem. Not all suppliers are created equal or have equal materials. Thanks for the comment.
Still complaining
You are Not a Finsher
LOOK BRO IF YOUR GOING TRAIN ME AND SHOW ME THEN DROP THE CAMERA BECAUSE NUMBER 1 ITS UNPROFESSIONAL NUMBER 2 YOUR RANKING ON THIS DUDE IN FRONT OF THE WORLD BRO HIS FAULT FOR ALLOWING IT I WOULDN'T SORRY BROTHER .
@@johnyberra5328 You a bot
Its cause hes a brotha... you a lame boss
I liv e in az peagravel always kicks off three times as fast rock hot n dry but we have chilled water
Yes it is just that on this pour although we do pour pretty tight concrete and 4000 and fiber, we had almost 2 1/2 hours finishing time which is a lot for us. Marcelle had plenty of time to do the pad his skill and mindset just wouldn't let him. I wasnt going to do it for him anymore this pour.
Why I told him what I told him earlier in the day. I could have poured both easily myself. Dont always take everything I say too literal I am eccentric and can be manipulative. I just use my powers for good not evil.
@@CONCRETEMANtv worst u can do is depend on a guy than go around corner n it's a mess easier by yourself than I know where u at u can tell if he's a finisher in the first 10 minutes I never count in a first day guy as a finisher
@@willywombat2087 I know I said that to HIM. But that wasnt the case. I was making him finish it. I dont know I feel like broken record here.
@@willywombat2087 He was 2 month finisher and again tiny project. Best way to make a finisher. imo..
