We might have some different ideas about how to do things, but I dont think anyone could ever question your work ethic or hustle. This was rough and I can understand the stress build from running out of time setting up, stiff mud, wind and the struggle to trying to get it closed. I hate that feeling. From one tradesman to the next get some laundry soap powder and add enough water to make an paste spread it on preexisting materials around where you poor then if new cement gets on it it will come off.

You did the best you could with what you had to use, but if you have to add 40 gallons of water to 5 yards , you should have sent the truck back. That concrete will never be good. The strength will be gone after adding a total of 60 gallons

finishing concrete is difficult to replicate if you're just watching someone, theres technique in how much pressure you put into the tool

instead of putting that extra cream in the grass just put it in a pile on the curb or something, also bending your bowlfloat is not a thing you should do, you will get an uneven slab most of the time and you should get a funny trowel, or whip trowel however you call it where you are. but good job
