What is underrated are your videos. So well though so well presented and still you dont have too many views.....keep up the good work. Thank you for the tips!
Wow, that was an excellent video! You explained everything really well. I especially appreciate your point about the importance of deception and not giving away that I'm going for the long serve. The way you used the return board to demonstrate the effects of spin, along with clips from actual games, really sets your videos apart. The slow-motion shots and different angles were super helpful too. Thank you for all your hard work-you're a table tennis angel! 😊
Thank you Craig. Deine Videos werden auch in Deutschland geschaut. Ich lerne von dir und unsere Kinder im Jugendtraining lernen es wieder von mir. Mach weiter so anschauliche Videos. Danke Old Nic😉 Man lernt nie aus.
Chinese pros recommend No. 3 in your list. I have seen sessions by Chinese national players like Zhang Jike and Fang Bo on youtube. They almost always recommend the backspin fast serve where the hand disappears under the table after serving.
Thanks Craig for taking the time for putting out such a quality training video, these serves are just as effective in Doubles too! Look forward to your future training on how to return these serves!
Well illustrated and so clearly articulated in words and form 👏 I've benefitted greatly from your other service videos (particularly the disguised top/back spin with racket drop and double fake)
Thanks again, after quite some time without resulting in a consistent useable fast long pendulum I will give the skidding serve a try. At the end of the day acquiring skill is a journey…thanks for pointing out places of interest 😊
Nice angles and returnboard showing u got a lot of spin. As for the serves i do all 4 of them even from the same starting point with my bat in a neutral position and only in the last half second swinging left/right for pendulum/reverse or going forward/downward for the the direct one and even thou i cannot get as high spin into it since i miss the pre-movement my opponents have great difficulty not knowing whats coming. As for the straight one i think the empty one is a bit too easy to return by just blocking/countering, i prefer to always add at least a bit of downwards movement for some backspin to make them hit the net and i like to vary the amount of backspin on it too, so they have a hard time next time as well.
I agree, if they see the straight one coming, then it can be easier. However, I try to keep the delay on this as late as I can and hopefully bait them into thinking I’m going to serve short.
I have a tip for you, Craig. Your thumb noticeably points up on your first two fast, long serves, possibly tipping off an opponent. Your thumb stays firmly against your bat for your "skidding" serve. You might want to check where your thumb is on your short serves. When I saw this I was reminded of how Boris Becker's tongue position would tip off Andre Agassi and helped Andre's service return. I appreciate your videos.
I’ll rewatch it, great spot if you’ve seen something like that. Exactly the type of tells we can be picking up on. I wouldn’t be too concerned with my thumb position, so longs my short and long variations were the same. My objective wouldn’t necessarily be to disguise between these 4 different long serves. The Agassi reference is a great one. I’ve seen his interview on this, he restraint to take advantage of it a crucial times was completely elite level tactics.
Thanks! I did not realized, that ball should be as close to a table as possible on the contact. Not sure how I did blocked it from my mind. I've been struggling with fast serves because of that: sometimes it came out great, but more offten it was flying into a net, or to far. Btw, one of the best skidding serves I saw in Robert Gardos game.
Fantastic. I always learn something from your vids. Great to watch your moves but also you explain things brilliantly. 👏🏼 May I ask what bat and rubbers you use?
Great video! I’ve been seeing more professional players mixing in long serves because if short serves become too predictable they get attacked with a flick. What are your thoughts about good serves with similar motions to pair with these serves? Here’s my take: 1. Long fast slight topspin paired with short dead no-spin serve. 2. Long pendulum to crossover paired with extra wide short pendulum. 3. Long skidding paired with short extra heavy straight backspin. 4. Long reverse paired with backspin reverse to the short forehand.
I just found you a week ago. What would be really beneficial for me is to go slow motion more than actual speed and show different angles with the camera..I'm old with Parkinson's . This is supposed to help us (parkies). Thanks you're amazing!
I been working on the skidding serve except I'm using it in the shovel motion...I used to do it using the pendulum, but I choked too many times and abandoned it.
Hi Craig!,thank s for y r lessons.I can say that an elite player(amateur not pro) could easily atack this fast long services...and after that you don t have the advantage from y r service. What s yr opinion? Thank you.
Can you make tutorial for long fast backhand serve? For a beginner, I found that pendulum serve family difficult to be applied in a match. Particularly when tension rise. The tension makes the wrist become stiff. That’s why backhand serve more handy in a match.
Hi Mr Bryant. You often make vids about the things I'm not so well at. Can you maybe help me out on this? I can do these as shown but when I'm getting faster I miss the table on the opponents side. So I Go back 20 to 40cm from the table and can do even faster but there I always fail on the normal Topspin version. How can I get consistency in there bc I can do the other variants. Thanks in advance If you can maybe let me know what I'm missing out or should correct.
The skidding serve is similar to your fast underspin-disguised-as-top-spin serve that you showed us a while ago. I've done that skidding version w/ reverse side spin, similar to your last serve shown, but w/ a technique closer to Mima Ito. What I've always wanted to learn is a short top-side spin close to the net. I've noticed only very advanced players use that one as it's quite difficult to get right. It's so spinny that flipping it is risky and pushing it pops it up. Can you show us that one?
@@TheTableTennisServiceGuy It's like a regular pendulum serve but instead of going long or half-long, you go super short so it lands a few inches from the net and almost bounces straight up and down, while staying lower than the net.
So y'all think he's unbeatable? His serves are unreturnable? I don't think he would even claim that. Players miss read simplest serves all the time...I can put a montage of my serves beating my opponents or a return-board. That doesn't mean I'm doing something magical.
What is underrated are your videos. So well though so well presented and still you dont have too many views.....keep up the good work. Thank you for the tips!
Wow. Thank you. The channel is growing, that’s all I can ask for. Thanks for your comments 🙂
Love your skills explanation!
The return board was an excellent indicator of what type of spin was on the ball. Very instructive. Thank you!
I like the Waldner version in the other corner of the table. It's possible to get an non touch ace serve with it, feels great when it works.
Best instructional videos ever
😳😁
Thank you Craig. Videos like these and of Tom are the only way I can receive coaching
That's called full dedication and complete honesty... Every word in this video is super useful

Awesome, thank you 🤩
And the brilliant bloopers !

If only I could serve half as good as you ....u are amazing Craig !
Thanks Craig. As always, this video of yours is very well structured, very well presented and very instructive.

You’re absolutely correct with skill acquisition, there are process ✅
thanks always sir for this wonderful thoughts of presenting, especially the last serve, and of course the bloopers :D
There are always plenty of bloopers to choose from!
That is a ******* brilliant video Craig. Thank you !
😁 thanks
I recently started using a return board but I never thought to use it for serves. Thanks so much for the video!!
Thank you Craig. Very useful tips. I will try all versions. Is it possible also to create a video showing how to return these serves :)
great video Craig, i will be watching the video again and again in my beautifull free time on a during the week free day morning at the club
Thanks!
Thank you so much 😊
it is a great explanation as always!
can u make a similar lesson for pen holder?
thanks!
Excellent videos and explanation, Craig.
Very helpful, really appreciate the video Craig.
Brilliant video, that 4th serve is ridiculous!
love your videos, best on this plataform by a large margin
Woah, what a comment. Thank you very much.
I love your videos and you awesome. My friend told me about you and you are so detailed, great explanation and I am hooked
Awesome, thank you. Keep spreading the word 🙂 New video coming out tomorrow 👀
Danke!

Thanks Craig, another great video 👍
Quality, as always
great video, would love to see vids on how to receive the different types of serves
I'd not considered serving the sidespin long serve into their crossover point, thanks for the advice.
Thank you coach. Servis long past very good
Well done Craig

Very strong n effective 💪

Thank u.
Effective against pimple. Many thanks
Excelente,🇧🇷
Thanks Craig , what should you do when receiving the skiding long fast serve ?
Against me, please just let it go past you 😁 You’d need to have a quick wrist, with a brush up the back of the ball.
3 (fast serve with back spin) is my favourite
👌
Thanks for the videos, how to return the skidding back spin serves. Where is the point of contact on the ball we should make a decent return
Sometimes I return these by taking a little longer, taking a step back and playing away from table with a forehand loop spin
I would be wanting to take the ball early and have a quick acceleration upwards 👆
Hi Craig, well done. With the return board should this be set up at 90 degree angle to the table?

I’ve done one on backhand serve, check it out 👌
Awesome
Is there a bit of wrist action just before point of contact on flat long serve?
2 and 3

I’m fairly certain I cover that in my pendulum serve video: th-cam.com/video/twNlkfRRafw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=unGKxy_QgDEHwF7Z
Hi Craig - where can I get a similar return board?
bribartt.co.uk/?ref=21305 Bribar definitely do one
First like 👍👍🏓🏓
Backhand fast serves next? 😋
Check out my precious videos. There’s a backhand tutorial 🙂

Also need to be aware that it's gonna come back, so give your self space and get there quickly.
Good point!
It can be difficult to see the ball against such a light background, which is a shame!
It’s not ideal, no. It’s not my venue, so at the moment, I can’t alter it but I’ll see what I can do in future with some sort of background.
way too much talk!
Serves effectiveness depends on your opponent's experience. I think I can return all your services.
stop being a smartass. This is a very useful video. Thanks Craig!
Let's see a video of you playing so we can judge if you'd be able to
Visit Craig and show us.
you are a legend in your own mind. please post a video of your great play so can appreciate. lol
