I could see why Tyler was not a very popular refrigerator brand. Sure, the metal panels might look like a good idea in an attempt to protect the coils, but in actuality they are a bad design, as they restrict the air flow, make the unit run harder, waste a lot of valuable metal, are hard to service, and are quite inefficient. How about those strange looking, rectangular square motors? I thought ECM motors didn't exist in the 1990s. Altogether, I guess it's safe to say that Hussmann, Kysor-Warren, Hill-Phoenix, Master-Bilt, True, and even Zero-Zone are much better refrigeration brands than Tyler ever was. Hopefully Hill-Phoenix corrected the problems and improved the quality of their units since they acquired Tyler and Barker in 2009. Whether the manufacture date is 2/92 (going on 33 years old) or 10/97 (going on 27 years old), and use R22, I think it's safe to say that it's time for these freezers to be replaced.
Absolutely. Tyler, in my opionion, was really that bad of a MFD. Of course, this design of case evaporator covers, was not a good idea. I think that Hill Pheonix buying them out probably was an improvement. Obviously, i think that Hussmann is going to be the best. Lol.
@@HVACRServiceTech It sounds like a great idea but you and I know there’s always a risk but life’s a gamble. If you go you know I wish you nothing but the best. You’re a great family man and a great service technician. 🤞🤞🙏🙏✝️✝️
Another very good educational video. Keep it up. There’s not many out there like these.
Much appreciated!
That airflow design is awful. It's almost as bad as the meat cases we have here.
What kind of meat cases do you have?
i think the ice walls behind evaps come from degraded insulation and condensation forming along the back walls
wow an ECM motor that lasted 27 years. I wish they would build them like this nowadays!
I know, isn't that crazy

You should carry the EC5411E motor.
Anyone pay attention to that cam chop lol
I agree that is a stupid design and it does restrict air flow. But I guess some designer thought it was a great idea.
Yea. Someone really smart suggested to do that?
