Can someone explain to me why does he listen to the master track with a low pass filter sometimes? Is it to make sure the sub frequencies aren't muddy?
Yes, it’s like standing outside a club. If it sounds good low passed then the rest of the mix will come easier

what kind of bassline is this? is it a rolling bassline? what about 4 on the floor basslines.
I guess you can call it a rolling bassline, I tend to make the sub layer roll for that but here its just one long note
