Congratulations on achieving 11 months. You have so much to be proud of Glenn. I have almost 18 months in soberiety myself. I know how it feels to be hard on myself. Forgive yourself and let it go is my advice to you. You have come such a long way in a year. Be happy.
Glenn, congratulations on 11 months! Picking up another habit is unfortunately so easy for us. I'm in the same boat but smoking an electronic cig. I feel that it's all I have to relax and somewhat numb things out. That's just how I'm wired. I'm mentally preparing myself to quit in the near future.. just haven't decided when. Aside from that, I'm just a few days short of 9 months sober and life couldn't be better. Good luck with the new job and nice to see you :)
Ann Duguay That's great to read Amy, your doing great 👍🏻 Yep the goal is to be Addiction free, that's easier said than done lol. There's no rush to this, as long as we keep moving forward Xxx
very well done Glenn. quick question how to you get on with people seeing these vlog you do and finding out about your drinking mainy people like work colleagues especially with new jobs etc and someone finding them ? especially with all the stigma attached to having a problem with drink?
Hi Mick, I honestly don't have a problem with that, I did initially, but as the weeks turned into months I became more focused on getting my message out there. You can get off this shite, you just need to do the work. I totally believe I'm a better person inside and out now, I'm more than happy to let others make up there own minds on me. But with that said, I fully understand why some people decide to stay in the closet with it. Each to there own my friend 👊🏻
the way back Glenn I been inspired by your videos. I wish you had time to check out my first and second video I just made. I'm not here to promote my page. I would hope my videos could help you in your recovery. As your videos have helped my recovery. I stumbled on to your videos yesterday. I love the truth and honesty in your videos. You are doing great ! Thank you for your videos
You know that you have an addictive personality, so starting to smoke just replaced one addiction for another. I replaced reliance on drinking and eating with going to the gym. I ended up in fantastic shape, but I was addicted to endomorphines. I could not sleep unless I had worked out. Just laid in bed itching! Anyway, you have to pick your addictions. Better that than being a boozer and chain smoker. Alice Cooper replaced his addiction to alcohol with one for golf! Good luck.
I'm continually amazed at your strength Glenn. Thank you for sharing and congrats on 11 months! P.S. I knew you wouldn't smoke for long 😉.
