Very popular winter destination for Greeks too. More affordable prices compared to our resorts ,good facilities and of course warm hospitality from the neighbors.
It’s the little things that make me love your channel. You went back and corrected the amount of the round trip ticket. I like that you want to make good content with accurate information. Even when you go somewhere I’m not interested in, I still let the full video play while I do something else just to support your channel. I was already very interested in Bansko even before this video because I was planning a trip so I was thrilled to see this pop up.
I just found some more info about hiking trails in this area and it looks like there are some gorgeous routes here with lakes and stunning mountain scenery. I hope you'll show us some !
Next time when you visit this area in Bulgaria you can go to The Three Rivers Hut , it is placed in Pirin mountain . You can enjoy very tasty food and amazing nature and lovely hikes . Glad you are going in my country Bulgaria I hope you enjoy it . Good luck !
First time at your channel but have been in Bansko 4 times. This place is really worth to visit (not only in winter). The mountains are incredible and they are everywhere!
I would recommend a climb to Mount Musala from which you have an exceptional view to the Rila monestary in the valley below. This is not too far away from Sofia. Excellent hike.
Looks amazing, but it must be spectacular to ski here in winter. I know that Bansko sometimes hosts the ski alpine world cup, so the slopes must be great!
Yep, I am Bulgarian and I can confirm that - Bansko is hosting an alpine world cup in February. But it's very pleasant in the the summer as well. There are 6-7 very good bike trails, there are flowy parts and more technical ones. The thing is that you can not ride them directly when getting off the gondola (except one trail), and you will need some pedaling (not much) to get to the trails.
About Bansko being deserted off-season - I guess most Bulgarians prefer hiking at more easily accessible locations. As you know, there's a mountain right beside our capital; there is also a mountain range spanning the entire country and another large mountain range in the south, and those are popular for longer treks done over multiple days. I wouldn't go to Bansko either during the summer, as it's kind of in the middle of nowhere.
One month from now there will be an international Jazz Festival in Bansko, that was really a cool event. I hope you have my hometown Plovdiv on your ‘to visit’ list for this trip to Bulgaria. It won’t disappoint, I promise!
At Bansko in March a lift ticket was about $40, decent rental was $15. We stayed right across the parking lot from the gondola for about $45 per night. I never actually made it to the very top. Super conditions and overall resort.
A blessed good day sir Gabe Wowww what a breaktaking viewS, Mountain of Bansko Bulgaria I love the beautiful very Interesting relaxing and Nature, I love to ride Gondola, Skyviews thank u so much sir Gabe for your wonderful walk around tour Video Godbless u ♥️🙏 from your solid fan supporter viewer from the Philippines 🇵🇭 sir Marvin ♥️♥️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👍👍🙏🙂
I’d bet if they put in infrastructure there for some real mountain bike trails that place would bring in a lot more visitors in the summer. Looks like an amazing spot
Yes, I am Bulgarian and hope for the same. :) Bansko is a very pleasant place for mountain bike riding, I have ridden several times there. I heard there is an idea to build a bike park there, but it will take a few years I guess, but it will boost its summer popularity as well if completed.
Gabriel! All Bansko wants to meet you! 😘😘😘 Join the crowd and fall in love. With Bansko too...its not deserted.. Go to the lower end of town! Join the expat and coworking crowd
Hey! I am going to Bansko tomorrow. As an avid Bulgarian vlogger and travel lover, I would more than love to make a vid together; or just grab a beer and share travel stories and ideas. Write to me, if you want to
Hi Gabriel, I'm surprised you didn't bring a pair of light sneakers, something to get around easier those hikes in the mountains are steep and tough to get around. To bike around those mountains at the end of the day you'll be exhausted. I can't imagine climbing up those mountains on the bike you'll break a huge sweat, and you'll need a massage and a big dinner to recuperate.
Yooo just watched on of ur videos about weed in Nepal. Then I go to ur chanel and I see ur most recent vids are from BG my country. Haven't got the chance to go see how things are. Keep up what u doin
Makes sense that Bansko is so void of people right now, as it was just inundated with digital nomads that recently left, so others stayed away during that time and will soon return. You just showed up inbetween things. If in your continued travels please share any flight delays or cancellations you experience. The "friendly skies" are not so friendly these days...sigh
Love a summer mountain scenery: the sea is just too predictable 😉 Would you do a live stream where perhaps you could tell us about the BTS of your last 5 months of travels? pnl
Would you join me to Liechtenstein and San Marino? I’ll be visiting these countries from July 27 through August 1st. You’ll be able to check off your bucket list. The last weekend of July there is a medieval festival in San Marino.
I have been traveling by myself lately - every once in awhile - I feel a little awkward going into a nice restaurant by myself - was in Barcelona Spain - March 2022
I was in Slovenia in late June and I went to an Italian restaurant by myself for 3 days in a row and had no issues eating by myself. It didn't bother me that everybody else had more than 1 person on the table. You have to have a strong determination to do it and nobody will turn you away because you're on your own. After all they need customers, whether it's one person or more than one !!
Gabriel, nice videos. However, serious hikers avoid Bansko, as there are no trails starting there. If you go to Bezbog, again with the lift from Dobrinishte, you will see a different picture. Same as the other popular routes. You also make assumptions in your video that since you do not hear Americans, there are no tourists in Bulgaria. Most tourists in Bulgaria are European, as is the case with most of Europe! Bansko is not a summer destination though
We do not need basic safety instructions. Tell us more about the taste of the food, the princess, accommodations, hospitalité, are the locals friendly????
Want to become a better vlogger Gabe, ask more questions to the locals. Ask them why are no people here in the summer? I love your vlogs but sometimes your too timid and shy But will always be a fan!
You have to realise Dave, that some people may not want a camera towards their faces and Gabriel may not want to film someone who might tell him, don't film me, if he asks some questions to locals.
Hi Gabriel it looks funny you are in Bulgaria at the ski slope how many days are you going to stay at Bulgaria for and visit I would recommend you to go to meribel 3 Bali I have skied there it is very beautiful scenery
They are very rare and avoid humans as much unless you go deep in their territory. I went hiking alone in Slovenia 🇸🇮 and I did not see a bear 🐻. I did see foxes 🦊 and 🦌 deers but that was it.
Very popular winter destination for Greeks too. More affordable prices compared to our resorts ,good facilities and of course warm hospitality from the neighbors.
You are always welcome and we will always visit your beautiful country too :)
@@kosmicheskiprah Thanks my friend. Same applies to you 🙂
I'm a bulgarian and I've been to Bansko once in the winter, it is amazing city.Glad to see it again through this video !
Beautiful!
Bansko just has that WOW factor. Buildings so pretty with most amazing backdrop of mountains. Even horse and carts mixed with modern day life.
Bansko and Pirin Mountain are amazing
Bulgaria looks like a real sleeper for travelers. Thanks!
I just came back from Bulgaria! It was so so so beautiful 🏔
This place seems so nice and quiet. I had never heard of it. Thank you for the discovery.
Bulgaria looks great for biking!
Indeed it is. Check Plamen Petkov's channel. He is a biking icon showing all the routes in Bulgaria.
I'm sure the hiking trails in that mountains will be amazing! Just don't get lost like your previous hike 😜, big mountains can be harsh.

Wow man i live in Razlog which is next to Bansko ! So happy to see you in Bulgaria!
I would recommend a climb to Mount Musala from which you have an exceptional view to the Rila monestary in the valley below. This is not too far away from Sofia. Excellent hike.
It also happens to be the highest elevation on the Balkan peninsula - 2 925 m above sea level.
You definitely do it in the summer. And get prepared for cold weather up there
Looks amazing, but it must be spectacular to ski here in winter. I know that Bansko sometimes hosts the ski alpine world cup, so the slopes must be great!

It looks awesome. Some of the houses reminded me of Whistler.
You got some splorin' to do, big guy! Can't wait till next video! Hope it's a nice day like you had here! Enjoy the dip in the pool!

Gabriel we’re in Sozopol! You should come to the coast!!
you forgot to have silver emergency blanket and lighter in your backpack since these are essential for outdoors survival
One month from now there will be an international Jazz Festival in Bansko, that was really a cool event. I hope you have my hometown Plovdiv on your ‘to visit’ list for this trip to Bulgaria. It won’t disappoint, I promise!

Looks peaceful I just spent 3 days in New York city I'll need a mountain escape like that soon after nyc craziness
At Bansko in March a lift ticket was about $40, decent rental was $15. We stayed right across the parking lot from the gondola for about $45 per night. I never actually made it to the very top. Super conditions and overall resort.
you should also visit balkan mountains!!!
That carnival looking thing looks like a first aid station with all the injured skiers pictures

Incredible content!
Gabe never heard of this town thank you for the adventure
The round fence with the closed umbrella on the ski slope is to care for injuries I think. Thank you Gabe, that was pretty steep.
Nice video. I saw a lot of mullein growing wild on that slope. Good stuff
Nice spotting!
My happy hour just got better...this video and some how I missed the Sophia video...yay! Enjoy your swim and dinner..🍻
Great looking resort

Bet the vibe is completely different in winter!
Thanks Gabe, I needed that!
Cool. 👍

I hope he replies, but Gabe sometimes moves on fast. Let's hope
@@FSVR54 Yeah. But if it has to happen, it will.
At this time of the year, from Jun to October the tourist and local business are on the Black Sea. There is wonderful too!!!
You should try thermal pools in Bansko, they are mostly in spa hotels.
I have been in Bansko only during Christmas season so it feels a little strange to me without any snow but still Interesting .
Wow very nice
Heeey Gab! Im having a seat. 💃 Iv been waiting on the notification 👏👏 yay! Enjoy the day
Always love your vlogs how about one mentioning your top 5 countries visited and why? Kind regards Gerry
Nice video, and good to meet you today Gabriel - Nic & Fosia
Right on, you guys too, nice to talk with you. 👍
Get yourself to the Galapagos Islands for it is a true destination

Reminds me of Zakopane Pl. Prices are very good in Zakopane even in the winter. Bansko=Great Place!!
Zakopane is very busy this time of the year but it has some awesome hikes.
I think that your mood was better while investigating ruins among greek islands.. :D
Everything ok our friend? First time since more than a month, that 2-3 days passed by with no video.
Beautiful

That was a very steep climb. Tiring for you. Not bad watching it on my laptop.
Why did Jacob stop making videos?
enjoyed thanks
man i got acrophobia just from the footage of that funicular trip 4:48
I am really enjoying your travels. I would find it useful if you could comment on how the internet is at each place you stay. Thank you
I often do, I showed the internet speed in the same room in my last video: th-cam.com/video/okov9d3TB48/w-d-xo.html
Also, it looks like a paraglider's dream land. Too bad you couldn't of taken a tandem flight down.
Beautifull🥇
H, you should visit Romania's mountains as well. But please please please not in sandals.
Makes sense that Bansko is so void of people right now, as it was just inundated with digital nomads that recently left, so others stayed away during that time and will soon return. You just showed up inbetween things.

19:00 Hi gabe... is pocket knife and scissor allowed in airport if check in???
Yes, in your checked luggage, not your carry on.
Love a summer mountain scenery: the sea is just too predictable 😉 Would you do a live stream where perhaps you could tell us about the BTS of your last 5 months of travels? pnl
It would be a first if Gabriel did a live stream, but he's not really fond of doing it and has never done one.
Would you join me to Liechtenstein and San Marino? I’ll be visiting these countries from July 27 through August 1st. You’ll be able to check off your bucket list. The last weekend of July there is a medieval festival in San Marino.
There exists the sigma male grindset, and then there's the Gabe grindset 👌
Gabriel where’s Harald is he ok 👍? I haven’t seen his video since last 10 months. After Lang tang treks.
Yeah he's okay. I exchanged messages with him a couple weeks ago. I guess he's taking a break from TH-cam.
@@GabrielTravelerVideosThanks Gabriel, We love your videos be safe. I am watching you from Pittsburgh PA. Namaste !
Hi Gabe I bet u wondered where the road went hopefully short cut to the top
Greece missed you already
It looks like a hot tub with a umbrella for the snow..
If .. ' if ' you had to stop travelling for whatever reason, which country would you decide to live in ( not including your home country / area ) ?
I can safely say for Gabriel it’s the Greek islands
I have been traveling by myself lately - every once in awhile - I feel a little awkward going into a nice restaurant by myself - was in Barcelona Spain - March 2022
I was in Slovenia in late June and I went to an Italian restaurant by myself for 3 days in a row and had no issues eating by myself. Finally you’re visiting my country 👏
I've been to your country, razlog, will see bansko and sofia this year
How do you travel with your Leatherman pocket knife if you're not checking in a bag? I thought you couldn't carry a penknife in carry-on.
It goes in my big backpack which I always check under the plane.
@gabriel do you ever get lonely traveling by yourself?
Imagine being down near Mount Etna today....would be interesting footage to say the least
🇧🇬 enjoy
Gabriel, nice videos. However, serious hikers avoid Bansko, as there are no trails starting there. If you go to Bezbog, again with the lift from Dobrinishte, you will see a different picture. Sushi in Bulgaria in the mountains.?? Place looks great though.
I recommend you to go to Svanetia in Georgia. The locations Mestia and Ushguli.
Everyone is at the seaside right now!
Would u like to visit Rila lakes?

Nice video ! Come to Sarajevo again !!!
heads up on chocolate. worlds biggest chocolate company stopped production . health issues

You should definitely visit High Tatras in Slovakia.
Hi Gabriel it looks funny you are in Bulgaria at the ski slope how many days are you going to stay at Bulgaria for and visit I would recommend you to go to meribel 3 Bali I have skied there it is very beautiful scenery
Should you run out of Emergency Toilet Paper, there is always Dried Leaves. . . . . . . . . 😂😂😂
how do you carry a pocket knife on an airplane? do you have to check your backpack?
Yes, it goes in my checked backpack, the big one.
That's why I quit skiing in the USA. Too expensive.
Don't they have brown bears in that region? I'd be careful hiking there alone.
They are very rare and avoid humans as much unless you go deep in their territory. I went hiking alone in Slovenia 🇸🇮 and I did not see a bear 🐻. I did see foxes 🦊 and 🦌 deers but that was it.
