Thank you for explaining your actions. This is an excellent video on fundamentals, especially thinking ahead/safe driving(limiting lane changes, protect space ahead) and saving fuel(coasting to a light).
This is how I drive my car also. Also how I taught my daughter to drive (besides the half speed exits.) I'm about to start CDL school and it looks like my driving basics are on point already. Defensive driving, all day, every day.
Awesome video! I’m currently in training at Prime in SLC and this is a great reference for what it’ll be like when we get out on the road and how to stay vigilant. Thank you!
Hawkeye Community College's Regional Transportation Center is teaching the same call out of intersections, cars, people and other hazards to keep on the lookout for. Thanks for posting this video, gives one an idea of what WST expects.
Good video, pretty similar to how I'll road test a newbie, good way to show how to reduce speed on on/off ramps. I have a few tight ramps I can take drivers on, and explain why the "my load shifted" excuse will not fly when they lay the trailer on its side, only 2 reasons why a load shifts, both of which are preventable by the driver. I also have a 12'2" bridge which is clearly marked that I'll run them by. A 13'6" trailer will clear, but they don't know that, now tell your boss how you made his brand new trailer a convertible. I'm assuming you also run them through a complete Pre-Trip Inspection, it's pretty scary how many drivers, even experienced ones, can't do a proper Pre-Trip, and I judge State Truck Driver Championships.
This is in Cedar Rapids Iowa, I recognized the roads because I went to my schooling with CRST in cedar Rapids Iowa, and this is part of the route I drove...Too funny
I like your style of driving. This is how I would drive. I'm in cdl school right and I'm having a hard time trying to stay speed limit because I'm more of a low risk driver...
@@Americanspy-hn2kw been good, finished cdl school in the end of may. Got my class A. decided not to go OTR for now. My dad was able to get me at his work driving Bobtail, with 4500 gallon tank. Doing Fleet Fueling. Going to do that for a while. Then probably going to want to use my class A soon. But for now I don't mind getting class B experience.
I'm driving a 6 speed for my CDL test in CA, do we lose points when we shift in the intersection? I know we cannot shift when we turn, but what if we are just going straight?
Wow, I'm surprised with how thorough this guy was, did anyone else see that no truck sign near the very beginning of this video that he did not mention, a very important sign to observe and point out to your examiner during a road test
Those truck driver did a very good jobs explain other how to working on that truck driver and what to do before you get there as I see how he drive that stick shift very well for me to remember how he work that shift only to move that big truck driver as well they driving it very neat and clean and do better as they teach you with a wisdom and knowledge to encourage you the best be the best ok god bless you our big brothers and sister ok you lady and gentlman did very well good jobs ok
I don’t know why yall make trucking seem so hard same rules apply to cars apply to you. Other than most truckers are reckless, bigger blind spots and heavier weight means longer to stop, and you’re federally regulated.
I understand keeping a safe distance, but as long as the vehicle is gaining ahead of me, why keep backing off? he's going to be late for his load/unload appointment time. looks like he's driving an automatic
All of us professional drivers with 10 or more years experience would fail real thorough road test if we were to do it the same exact way we drive everyday. I say this because we all do things that are "no-no's" like multitask alittle, float gears and drive with one hand
Cool vid,but if every driver would drive like that, that would be perfect but you're in Dreamland dude, in some of the West Side drivers that use have side like a fucking nut
This is awesome video, I'm.about to go for my D truck license, very informative 😊
Thank you for explaining your actions. This is an excellent video on fundamentals, especially thinking ahead/safe driving(limiting lane changes, protect space ahead) and saving fuel(coasting to a light).
Drive like " The officer behind me and the family in front of me "
Thank you so much for that sir! :)
I used to drive for Westside. Good company and good people.
This is how I drive my car also. Also how I taught my daughter to drive (besides the half speed exits.)

Do you not have to stop before the stop signs before pulling up past it to see better?
You are on point. Thank you for these explanations 🙏🏼
Awesome video! I’m currently in training at Prime in SLC and this is a great reference for what it’ll be like when we get out on the road and how to stay vigilant. Thank you!
This video was brilliant and thorough. I take my test Monday.
Pass?
With ease... 🗣CDL LIFE!

Says they must comply with all local traffic laws and then doesn't signal when leaving the yard.
🤭😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video!
Great course 👍 congratulations from 🇺🇸
The problem I’m having is when is the best time to slow down even when there is a green light.
Thank you for your help
This is in Cedar Rapids Iowa, I recognized the roads because I went to my schooling with CRST in cedar Rapids Iowa, and this is part of the route I drove...Too funny
You still driving these days?
Excellent video!!! I really want to return to trucking. I thought it was time to retire and crazily gave up my hard earned CDL. NOW I REGRET IT.
Never too late to get back into it! I’m getting ready to hit the road again after a two year break.

First stop sign he rolls past. Is that correct?

I passed my test because my son won’t stop telling study
Do you have a bendix system in the trucks
Exelent Video,Thank you so much, fot taking the time to make it
Do you guys hire student drivers?

Yeah my school told me not To shift in the intersection
I think your Qualcomm wants you to log in as the driver 😂
First left turn out of the yard with no signal, lol
Awesome explanation while driving 👍 👌

Some confusion going on in this video.. "i will wait and turn on the green arrow oh im gonna turn on the green light" lol

I never seen him down shift or up shift i was saying that must be an automatic truck
Fail my city driving twice, I pray I passed my last try. Honestly worst feeling ever
Thank you for all the points🚦🚚👀
Know the smith system. Live by it and you'll do fine. If you don't know the smith keys google it an learn the key. Good video as well.
Nice video to bad you can’t look up the company on a cell phone. Wonder what your requirements are?
Wow, I'm surprised with how thorough this guy was, did anyone else see that no truck sign near the very beginning of this video that he did not mention, a very important sign to observe and point out to your examiner during a road test
He's using the Smith system too

I was an automactic
of all these road tests. I never see a cdl driver demonstrate or do a railroad crossing.
Very safe driving and experience

I feel if I do my commentary like this guy, I should ace my CDL test next Tuesday... the road test part.
I don’t know why yall make trucking seem so hard same rules apply to cars apply to you. Other than most truckers are reckless, bigger blind spots and heavier weight means longer to stop, and you’re federally regulated.
Testing tomorrow
Thank you sir.
Thank you
Yes that is an automatic transmission y😢
I understand keeping a safe distance, but as long as the vehicle is gaining ahead of me, why keep backing off? he's going to be late for his load/unload appointment time. looks like he's driving an automatic
Being late is better than involving in a road incident my friend 👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍
good video
Same
Don't forget your keys brotha
that left turn he made on the freeway the light turned yellow wouldnt that be an automatic fail on a driving test
Thats what i was thinking he waited 2 late 2 start moving
Passed my test I am hitting the road
thanks a lot sir
I'm surprised the Smith System hasn't asked you to take this down yet. They get testy when people cover their keys without paying.

Who's watching this in 2024?
I miss iowa
Why?!!
I would fail this road test I'm doing all of what he's saying but to be calling it out would piss me off to the extreme
All of us professional drivers with 10 or more years experience would fail real thorough road test if we were to do it the same exact way we drive everyday. I say this because we all do things that are "no-no's" like multitask alittle, float gears and drive with one hand
