At 4:28 you write ‘пойдет’ but pronounce it as ‘пойдёт’.
Is this a case of Russians not distinguishing between ет/ёт in writing?

The answer is 'yes'. I write е/ё. Sorry, In this video it's my mistake. Native speakers usually don't write е or ё, because we just intuitively know how to pronounce the word. But I completely agree with you, that for learners I must distinguish them.

If we are just learning sentence structure then why would you switch to only using cursive? At least use cursive and printing letters for us beginners.
