Hard disagree. It doesn't show what genre of game it is, or anything about the plot or gameplay. This trailer leaves me feeling less excited than before I watched it.
Have the Switch collector's edition and absolutely adore the game. Hilarious lewd humour at times with great gameplay and I'm glad more get to experience this new cult classic :-)
I loved Rain Code it was my 3rd favorite game of 2023 behind Baldur's Gate 3 Zelda: TOTK. I cannot wait to play towards the Platinum Trophy with Rain Code Plus!

I'm pretty sure Kodaka intended for this to be a series with multiple sequels. The title was changed from just "Raincode" to "Master Detective Archives: Raincode" on initial release probably for that reason. He also said at some point that they were in talks for an anime to be made. I don't think we have to worry. A sequel should happen. It's probably just gonna take a while.
@@iceprism367I haven’t played the game yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the devs go with an anthology type of route rather than a direct sequel-by-sequel type of progression. Like maybe it could be a different protagonist in the same world at a different (or same) time. But maybe it’s not as likely as I think because I know the protag can “borrow” abilities so people might think it would be a step back mechanically if the protag was someone else. I might have to get myself a Switch 2 when it comes out so I can play it and the next entry for myself.

Maybe they could jump around showing various detectives who used the Book of Death or have gameplay mechanics other than the labyrinth. I feel like they'll still have to follow up on Raincode's characters in some way though because they are great and the setup at the end is perfect for a continuation of that plot. I hope they at least cameo in whatever comes next. I personally think it might be cool to switch between a few main characters within the same plotline in a sequel because that would fix not being able to borrow fortes and you could just play as each different detective in an overarching plot.
I hope this will become a DLC download for the Mysteriful version later on. It sounds like a really fun extension. But for now, I hope that the rest of you get to enjoy this game and the new missions!

I thought I missed a sequel cause I found this game even better than Danganronpa (plus that little thing that made the twist) but it's okay, I can wait.
I also liked this game better than Danganronpa! I think the pacing was dramatically improved from the Danganronpa games, the story-telling also was more compelling as well!

I didn’t get to have the dlc because of my parental controls on my Nintendo switch. Me and my mom are trying to fix the problem but it still didn’t work. So then months when I got the Nintendo switch version later I have to wait until the PS5 version came out

Great game but it doesn't deliver the equal excitement I has with Danganronpa. The key aspect missing is the "impact" of the "truth". The case is very straight forward and when I selected the correct option, the payoff doesn't match. This is more of an experience issue rather than the gameplay issue.
I know you're probably wondering: "Why I would need the other console version of this game when all I have is the Switch version?" Well, I'm getting a PS5 for Christmas so I don't see what the big deal is buying the PS5 version instead.

When you see the current direction of modern day PS and Xbox I highly doubt the sales of this niche anime style game would make any difference, and it did do really good numbers in Japan getting to No 1 in sales chart where Switch is completely dominant. I feel it was a good move at the time just like what is happening with the new game 'The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy' from same creators, but I'm glad its finally on more systems now :-)
