Beautiful gameplay. The parkour mechanics are still simplistic, but at least they made the most with level design.
I feel like it's the best they could do with the current mechanics. Hope this is a stepping stone for future games
Im actually happy with the parkour yes ofc unity was on another level but this is the best they could achieve with the new system and it looks really fluid
@@songoku6067 Why this is the best they could achieve when they could simply implement Unity's parkour mechanism? Is it that hard?
I don't know how difficult it would have been to implement or recreate Unity's parkour, but it's not as easy as copying and pasting.
The two games use different versions of Anvil Next, I suppose that a lot of things would have been incompatible and that a lot of things would have had to be reprogrammed or rebuilt entirely.
It would have taken more time and effort and given that this game is based on the Valhalla's version of the engine because it was originally going to be a DLC for Valhalla, they had no reason to change the parkour that much.
There is a very good chance that the new parkour system is in development in other Ubisoft studios for the next AC.
Parkour and movement are important in AC and it is surely one of the first things that is developed when a new parkour is to be done.
There was no reason to make this effort for only a "small" game like Mirage
@@buinhat9229 in simple terms, yes its too hard
Finally someone doing actual parkour. Idk why but in all the other gameplay videos ive seen people just walk along the street and barely show any parkour footage
They got used to how they do it in the previous RPG era games.
It’s easier and usually quicker to just walk / run through the streets. Why even parkour unless your being chased and wish to evade your pursuers? Realistically it would be fckin tiring doing this everytime you want to travel from A to B.
Here it seems much faster to parkour tbh then run in the streets, this is genuinely quite fast
@@Carfilliotrealistically this is how assassins travel because you never see any other assassin on the street
I’ve not seen any walking videos you speak of, I’d prefer those footages tbh
This is no AC Unity, but I don't give a shit. This looks so damn fun. Just going so fast from place to place, never once touching the ground or breaking the flow of speed
This is really a tribute to the classic. I really enjoy this mechanic with the combination of current RPG.

Same animations of Valhalla, Odyssey and (maybe) also from Origins. It's not the first time that they re-used that animation.
@@filippob.7183 so what...shut up broo...because ODYSSEY best game eveeer made...
Thank god someone who actually knows how to parkour reviewing the system.
I REALLY wanted musical themes in the cities like in AC1 - ACR(sorta) in addition to ambient sounds. For me the music was a big part of the cities.
maybe to avoid copyright so they disabled the music?
it has really good music
It does have good music it’s just disabled in this video
It's there. There's even an option to increase the frequency of exploration music
@@cribacon oh wow really? That's pretty cool
This game has undoubtedly the best level design we’ve seen since unity.
If the parkour system is the same as ezio trilogy it'd the best of the best, shame the animations still feel stiff and weird
@@VSN-wb2lyI agree, imagine how good this would’ve been if the mirage devs had a better engine to work with other than the Valhalla one
A lot of props to fill in the gap for the lack of actual parkour.

The parkour mechanics are the same but the world being designed for parkour and the new animations this is still a step up from the recent games
Thanks for the video 👍
The City is beautiful and it really is a step back in the right direction regarding Parkour. I just wish Basim wasn't "flying" When taking the stairs...
Honestly putting aside the fact that recent games were far off from its roots and it was barely a real AC game, this one looks so good and also fun!
One of the small complains is that you can never get the parkour 100% right. Like the single leg strides look a little bit robotic in my opinion. Also climbing that crane/elevator has a funny animation launching basim a little too high giving spiderman vibes. Over all cant wait to play this one!
Has it never bugged anyone else that every assassin in every AC game is a parkour master right out the gate? A progressive parkour system would be dope.
Basim as thief:Ufff...Mhyy....Aaahhh...*heavy breath*
Basim as mentor: *silence and easy breath*
It also annoys me from a narrative standpoint but if they did that people would be understandably angry
I guess AC 2 did a small version of that, with the climbing glove greatly adding to Ezio's climbing ability. It'd be cool if a future AC game started you off with the usual parkour we know and added new features as your character got better, such as wall running, quicker climbing, or wall ejecting
Literally in every ac prior to the kenway saga they did that
Ac 1, 2, Brotherhood and Revelations did that.
But no that wouldnt be cool that would feel like ass.
Other than missing side ejects and back ejects, this looks pretty darn good. And the city is gorgeous as well.
You can still somewhat pull of side ejects and back ejects, but it’s not nearly as effective as it was though
i kinda did side eject on my first 10 min but i dont know howdddddddd
Leo K has a longer review on his channel where he explains how you can perform moves similar to side- and back ejects in certain situations
@@joeyleeuwestein7133 will check this out. Thx for the heads up.
you can
hes jumping animation looks i bit like ezios and altairs, which is a real good thing. great showcase of the parkour, it looks amazing🔥🔥🔥
The biggest innovation is the pole vault. Good job, Ubi.
Amazing video, wow!!! 😁😁😁 I actually Started playing Assassin's creed from the very beginning, Altair... Right now I'm at Black Flag, I even played Liberation of Aveline. I am noticing the gradual improvements and adjustments ubisoft keep making and some they keep some they scrapped. It's and awesome journey, I'm just trying to to see how I can get a better gaming PC to continue playing them. I should be able to play up to Assassin's Creed Rogue, but I do not think Unity will work on my current PC, I plan on playing every main installment. This video just gives me chills when I think about how I will be playing it in the future 🙂🙂🙂. Simply amazing!!!
This looks amazing as hell for it not being unity parkour I'm very happy with it
thank god it isnt like unity's parkour, i dont want the character going where i didnt ask him to go. Unity may have cool parkour animations but the system itself is terrible
@@benbrmf8558wymn, i had the most control over parkour with unity's mechanic
Wdym it looks the same lol
@@chonkyd0nkey unity's parkour compared to the rpg era does not look the same lil bro
@@chonkyd0nkeyyou must've not played the RPG games cause this does not look the same😂
I like the parkour honestly - I always felt the movement should be informed by the characters personality and attitude, for me Basims background as a thief would mean his style of parkour would be focused on speed and efficiency to outrun the authorities as quick as possible, so there’s less need for as much flourish as someone like Arno, with a more exuberant personality who learned to run and climb and leap like he was off on a grand adventure
They literally reused animations from Valhala, lmao
wtf are you even talking about bruh. They simply used the same copied and pasted animations of Valhalla. Perhaps they sped up some movements (ofc they did) and they did an actual good job with the level design (as it should be, since you are supposed to do parkour)
@@diamanteniovelos1161 then I guess those animations work particularly well for Basims character then
@@jackharper7002 Idk, Basim is wearing just robes, while Eivor has armour and stuff. Valhalla parkour animations simply make Basim feel heavy when you control him, but eh, whatever. Everyone has their own taste, I suppose

Wow they did an INCREDIBLE job designing the city for parkour. This has to be the best I've seen. Even more routes than Unity...
Fake news
@@Putrescence420there is definitely more routes than unity while unity had the best control over the character there were nothing like corner swings in the game there wasn't pole vaults, no ziplines and all around there's allot more pathing in mirage i just played both mirage and unity...

@@SWdoughboy313_55 right, no. It is a known problem of it. The system has problems working right and has limited options due that. Sure it can do exactly what you want if you want to just go on a straight line.

I expected it to be worse but it looks good and is well accompanied with the level design which is quite dense, I am very impressed for good
What I really love of this game is the parkour mechanics looks like a mixture of asssassin's creed II and united, the city is made to support the parkourand is a mixture as well. pretty good.
This game is so freaking beautiful. Just like any other AC.
dang it.. the parkour is so smooth like AC3 and origins combine :) I love it!!!

It must be painful having an urge to side/back eject knowing you can't. No, seriously. The design of the city fits so well for it...
It's like having a large amount of money in your pocket that you can't spend. How the hell can this lack basic parkour features like side eject ? They're going back to the roots without knowing what the roots were: GOOD PARKOUR
@@chrisstucker1813 They probably played the first AC games with the casual player mentality which is run forward to mindlessly jump from building to building, not considering that side and back ejects are part of the experience.
@@claytabulusshogun to be honest I played the game when I was young and never really admired those types of mechanics like side eject which were fundamental to the parkour. Man, this remenber me so much the A.C 2
the level design is crazy ngl, makes that simplistic parkour mechanics that much smoothers and faster, i wish there were more fancy moves like there were in unity but i can't complain too much, they did their best to make it as realistic as possible
it would be nice to have parkour like unity's but with really smooth animations but im still happy with most ac games anyway
Finally an ac game that actually looks and feel like an assassin’s game
Omg the sound is so relaxing
He grabs the ropes with his bare hands 😭
That's so dumb 😂
the city looks so good and it has height to it
This reminds me a lot of the 1st AC i might have to pick it up
Parkour reminds me of AC2 which had fast climbing and Revelations.
Definitely assassins creed origins my fav and i own em all.
Finally, Assassin's Creed is back to it's roots 😎
Thanks for the HDR!
Once you get used to the parkour after practicing for a couple hours its really fun, the city design means you can run in any direction on the rooftops
Having a little more control over the character improved this game so much
This map combines all the best features of the RPG trilogy maps plus adds a new flair
idk about you but I find this one of the best on release experiences from modern assassin's creed
True
Finally gameplay that isn't mods and it's actually legit good video 👍
Damn thatjump at 2:58 looked like a REALLY SOFT landing the way it compressed
One day I believe we will get Unity style parkour back, PLEASEEEE
Glad to know there are no enemies on every single rooftop trying to shoot you down😂😂
I hope I will have this game soon marshmellaw
Havent bought and played an AC game since Origins(for 75%off) and bought this. I am actually enjoying it a lot!!
Watched a side by side comparison video of this and Unity. Unity looks just as good.
This parkour reminds me most of AC3 and BF, maybe a little clunkier but with better world design. People only hate on this because it's not as fast/appealing as Unity or as mechanical as AC1-ACRev, but it actually stacks up pretty well with the rest of the franchise and arguably does the parkour better than a few of the major releases that people consider "old AC".
This looks good.. What happened to all atmospheric dust that we saw in earlier iterations of this game?
Not really flashy and looks closer to the classic games which is what they said it will be, so that's really good.
I like how the NPCs all speak Modern Standard Arabic like they were reading the news
Standard classic Arabic barely changed. To a speaker of each modern Arabic dialect classic Arabic is like Latin to a spanish or French speaker
It feels like ac brotherhood.. but nothing beats ac unity and syndicate parkour
OMG, believe it or not this is the best AC game till date, developers hard work can be easily seen 💯
The animation when Basim pulls himself up looks weird, same for the jumping animation, but the rest looks good. And I'm glad the city is built really well, honestly looks to be better than in most AC games.
Buying it just cuz it's in Baghdad 🤩🤩🤩
You should switch the sprint toggle to holding R2 for better sprint control. So glad Mirage let’s us change that awful toggle
I feel like they still need to make the horizontal hopping animations smoother and less sticky. Even though it looks more realistic to a certain degree, this is a game. We dont need full realism.
Less sticky with each jump would be nice. Other than that, I enjoy the rock climbing aspect of it the most. I need to do this more, for sure.
It runs surprisingly well for an Ubisoft game. Can even run on old video cards
i dont care what people say this game is close to my heart ..absolutely greatest settings and environment
it looks even better at 100-120 fps. the parkour feels so much smoother than at 60
Oooooooooooooouuuu yeeeeeaaaahhhhhh
Beautiful! still deciding to buy it, it’s $30 now in the ps store… 🤔
Wait. This looks sick as fuck
It almost looks like the first AC game, just sort of revitalized...🤔 I like it.
As someone who coaches parkour and's been in the pk/freerunning community for 7+ years, this is beautiful.
WATCHING THIS IN 1.5X SPEED IS BEST 😉 & i wore the Rebels talisman when fitted with Basims master robes
can't wait for Red parkour, probably in '25-'27
I love the effort they put in the new animations compared to valhalla but I would have loved it even more if it could be a tiny bit faster
Anyone else miss the diagonal climb and parkour down from unity? That was super cool
unity was garbage, move on from your nostalgia
What a Beautiful! THANKS UBISOFT
Ngl I really miss the combat from ac3 through rogue
I like the detail of young Basim having an amateurish leap of faith animation, but this seems like an oversight lmao 4:56
there is something nausiating about the way basim runs slower than he climbs. And is it just me or the corner swings, ziplines and pole jumps sound too loud?
The civilian will wonderous of what the hell all the poles are moving away
feels like a remastered 2010 game. i thought there would be some amazing style or movements but its nothing new. different strokes for different folks i guess. but ubisoft just milks the same titles every year. they hardly add anything
They brought back the unity parkour
The level designers snapped on this game
I also play AC Mirage on my PC in 4K and 75-90 FPS, its unbelivable beautiful!!
1:19
His hops really remind me of Ezio's parkour😭
if they added a side eject/ side hop that would’ve been perfect
How do you get the black gear dye?
I wished they put more effort In parkour movement like they did in ac unity. This feels simplistic and kinda choppy so it doesn’t seem as smooth as it should
Bagdad is the heaven of parkour.
Just so you all know you can make wall ejects alot more easier by setting the run button to hold R2
I LOVE THIS GAME
There is something of AC unity, there is something of AC 2, there are many things that are still similar to AC origin, but basically improved. Temporarily accepted!!
Love the foliage
I feel so bad when barehand zip line
They brought back the system where you could traverse the city without touching the ground
I miss side eject but this is not bad
impressive how you can slide a rope with bare hands
