  • This is a series I developed for Instagram and a lot of the content is over 60 seconds, which means I can't post it to TH-cam Shorts. On some of them I have been able to cut them down to try and shorten then, but some it takes too much of the information away. So I have decided to just upload a longer format video each week with a recap of what we went over during the week so you can see it here too!
This week we learn about the best brush for watercolor, why artists tap their brush, how to lift clouds, how to layer mountains, and how to make a fun leaf watercolor!

You are so much fun to watch!!! Even though I know most of this information, I love hearing you deliver the message. Thank you so much ❤

Super grateful TH-cam recommended one of your short’s (the overhead fields of different colors/crops), and I looked for your favorite paint’s and brushes etc. Thank you so very much for the 2 video’s here in this folder! I can’t begin to tell you just how much videos I’ve watched on TH-cam to learn more about my desire to get the necessary supplies and try my hand at watercolor! Have tried as a kid ;), but now pretty much confined to our home and am grateful to have made it through a serious health scare. I don’t have much of the same energy and can’t do so much of my art that I loved beforehand, but I have to create as I’ve always done different art w/my hand’s. This is by far the best, most comprehensive beginner video I’ve found, and I’m so grateful to you! You kept it moving along and still provided everything I could hope to know as a beginner. I much appreciate your style and shared knowledge and am excited for many more moments watching your video’s and creating my own watercolor and mixed media art! 🙏🌻

You have the ig videos published here too?! Yay🎉 i was bummed because since a few days ago, when the siae banned meta sites from using copyrighted music in Italy, for some reason, i can't hear the audio in your videos anymore.

What’s the best brand to start with, for paint, pencil and paper

Listen, we all love it when you bob your head when you "make it dry." You should do a video of a bunch of those one day. 😊

@@diademma4369 LOL - that's the one thing that annoys TF out of me.

When I look at all the colour my rag, I get the feeling I wasted too much colour by just wiping it into the rag and I also worry it might reactivate. Is that normal or do you often see beginners smearing too much colour into the rag?

What are you doing/hoping to accomplish at the time when wiping it on the rag? It is probably less actual pigment than it seems (if it's pan paints and not from directly using tube paints at lest) and shouldn't reactivate to the point of being able to paint with it

Love your videos, but I do have an issue with something. If I had been told to only use one brush when I was starting, I would have quit on my first day. Yes, a fat, round brush can make thin lines, but only with a TON of practice and frustration. Using a thin brush for detail work is MUCH easier. And daggers are great for geometric work. Just saying.

I'm a strong advocate for a round brush with a nice pointy tip for that reason exactly- and for playing with your brushes to see what kind of different strokes you can get from them. Some get intimidated by having so many brushes, too, but I'm glad you found what works for you!
