it may be better to make each track w/o any fx, will sound dry af - but u (may) want that 4 this issue. then, group them altogether (at least in ableton ik this is an option) and add any reverb/echo/compression/limiter, etc. to the whole. also the panning like he mentioned really helps spread the sounds so it’s not so clumped up. + adjust the volume - obvi the best/ur fave takes should be set louder. and make sure u aren’t screaming into the mic/r @ a proper distance when u record as not to have “peaks” or the gain get to crazy ahhhhhh hope that helpsss
The thing a lot of ppl don't realize while making choir vocals is pitch.......You gotta tune every single vocal layer to make it sound good......if the pitch isn't perfect, it won't sound good.
This isn’t entirely true. It has to be pretty close on tune but if it’s 100% in tune, it sounds like a synth. Slight deviations in vocal pitch is what makes it sound full. This is a real known phenomenon. Ever heard that if 2 violinists played a note together that were totally in tune, down to the cents, it wouldn’t be any louder if 1 violinist was playing? It’s the same for vocals and if he used auto tune on all these choir vocals, it wouldn’t even sound like there were that many voices. Slight pitch deviations is what makes it sound like a choir.
every vocal i add just makes the others sound worse and worsseeee and each one sounds different from other.. so usually i just can add backing vocals and try to cover the bad one with it 💔
i never even thought of squeezing my nose LOL i tried so many voices though this is so inspiring and awesome :) great video imm try this in my next bandlab song
Great technique but I will still align ever take to the first take to make it sound cleaner. I guess that's a personal preference though. Great video!!
Just try to get 4-5 overdubs of everything and then you always have enough material to shift and shape depending on the type of layer you want! If you need more in-depth help with your specific situation, you can DM me on Instagram! @looknorthrecordings
@@looknorthrecordings imma hit you up cause I know the highs and lows and the doubles but it’s not blending like everyone else does videos on. I do appreciate you
No matter how voices I put
It still sounds so like chaos, with reverb, sounds like a group of choir in church turned to monkeys
🤣🤣🤣🤣
You’re not alone man ….

Pin this comment. I’ve been doing this method for years and you’re right. I tend to harmonize so I don’t have to deal with it as much.

That ain't true because even great choirs aren't perfect in real life
Do you think real professional choirs are always pinpoint in tune with each other? That’s inhuman
@@mattbarachko5298 we're talking about sounding like a choir as an individual.
That’s huge I needed that, I didn’t even think of doing stuff like this
Game changer uh lol
the one when he is wooooahing calmly in the microphone reminds me of triple x vocals
That one that sounded like Mickey 💀💀💀💀💀
Nah Frr ✝️😭😭😭
The 8th woah “when she give you that double tongue twist around the gobble head”😂
bro sounded like himself, carl weezer, and trippie 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥

Oh my God! It sounds like a traditional African choir 😃😍
5 and 6 remind me of Trippie Redd
Khaby Lame : *Add Dual octave option Twice* 👁️👃👁️👃👁️
It’s gonna sound much worse than the method used in the vid 😅
@@alwayshavebeenmoonsun haha. Yep.. Dual octaver, plus 2-3 different vocal layers will give amazing result I've tried
@@orgumaniaLive I’ll try
That was so good lol
This is gold!
I tried this and it sounded like orangoutangs singing the chicken dance song to a hip hop beat
Wow. Thanks. That's a lot of work.
you can also add a whisper track for more depth
Really good work brought❤❤

Thanks
I like the woooo ooo oo ooo
It's Ammaze Sir Thankyou ❤😊
How would one apply the reverb and compression? I’m assuming it’s different every layer right?
Yeah, based on the frequency presence of each take, you can make em fit together with other tracks with different or opposite frequency presences!
Cool
And then I started singing God is a Woman
Shoutout to BandLab🤣
✨

I need some layering advice… how do I get that stacked punch sound with in and outs and doubles.
Left and right and all that ? Appreciate any help

Good idea, that you doesn't sound like a vocalist effect unit.
😭😭😭😭😭
Sounds good, but needs pitch correction. Keep it up
Bandlab didn’t have pitch correction at the time lol
when i record on my interface it has a static sound and its really delayed any tips?
Learn the basics of your daw before going into advanced vocal production
Ayoooooo it’s a W
Would back to mic present some phase issue?
