I only drive mine like a manual in sport mode only and I try to never back up a hill. Your comments are right on treat it like a manual drive it like a manual and the clutch will last forever.
For sure! I stick with manual and sport 95% of the time. I'll do cross every now and then. But it's almost too abrupt. Sport feels like the time it would take to shift a manual and should be ideal for clutch life
Lol my thoughts too. Watch before you buy, as if I’m ever going to be able to afford a Lamborghini 😂 I’m really watching as I had to MOT test one last week and I can’t stop thinking about it since 👌
Great video. My LP560 is immaculate in the garage right now ready for a Gintani cars and coffee tomorrow. Detailed it for 3 hours today. Such a sexy car
Thanks! Yeah there are more than I can even name! Crazy how they went crazy with all the versions. Seems like all their modern cars, they just keep pumping out versions. Great way to sell more I guess!
Thanks! Yes you can be in automatic sport. It's very aggressive in that mode and will hold the gears pretty high. So it's pretty good for fun roads if you don't want to use the paddles. Normal roads you'd want to stick with auto and normal mode

You should be able to. It might depend on the dealer itself. If they are well verses in R8 maintenance, their techs should be able to handle this and understand what it is. Basic fluid changes shouldn't be an issue. Diag might need a special Euro shop or the Lambo dealer tho for further things. Fore me so far doing maintenance myself, it's pretty basic
This actually has a lot of ground clearance! With the front end lift too, its gets pretty high. I don't even need the lift to enter my driveway which does have a curb to go over. So you should be good to clear things that most cars clear
Another guy that owned a Huracan did a video of ownership. He stated he needed new brakes so he took it to an Audi repair shop where he was charged half the price than going to a Lamborghini shop.
Oh wow! This has the same brakes as the first gen R8. As long as you don't have carbon ceramics, any Gallardo, R8 or Huracan really isnt that expensive. Would have been even cheaper if he just bought good aftermarket parts and did it himself. Veery basic cars overall
I love the LP550-2. I'm seeing them for sale between $120-150k in Fall 2024. I have a '24 C8 Stingray that I paid $82k for. I was considering trading for a Gallardo after year 2. I would gain the Lamborghini factor, however, performance is similar or slightly behind the C8 due to the transmission and software/tuning. I am struggling to justify it. That's not a knock on the Gallardo, it still punches with 2024 MY C8s, a decade later! I can't imagine what a Gallardo was like in 2010-2014! I suppose the C8 is just too good a value. Regardless these LP550-2s will always be a sweet model to me.
Depends on what you are going for. The character of the Lambo is what you get out of it. The single clutch transmission is raw and old school, the V10 is addicting to listen to and the way the car operates being a 20 year old platform is just a really fun experience. It's a modern classic. So it has the old school feeling modern cars don't have. It's plenty fast tho and handles pretty good. You just won't be pushing the Gallardo is the turns quite as hard compared to a modern Corvette. It's like someone owning a modern GT Mustang and wanting a 1971 GT to replace it to have a classic car rather than a modern car. So for me, I like how this is super raw and drives like nothing else. You can't help but smile behind the wheel because it has so much soul and character. Still new enough to be usable and livable too
Good thing is, there isn't any clutch issues. It just has a wimpy stock one. About a $5k job to replace it and you can put in a newer OEM one or a good aftermarket one and it will last just as long as the LP cars. Just make sure if you do go Pre LP, see if there is a record of a clutch job. Use that as negotiation. But I do love my LP!
Im stuck between this or the R8 primarily i want to go r8 if anything breaks because ofc it's an Audi hence no lambo tax but tbh now I think it all doesn't real matter at the end of the day
To be honest the parts on this are the same as the Audi. So it' snow different. All have the same part numbers on 95% of the mechanical parts. My brother has owned 2 R8's and both have been great. One year into the LP and I'm loving it! Either car you can't go wrong with. Just depends on budget for which year and version you want. All are good
@@BrosFOURRSpeed that's true and great video as well brother. I'll be picking it up soon r8 or Gallardo. looking at a 13 Gallardo and a 2012 r8 but it has tons of mods wing carbon etc same with Gallardo so it's tough but you can't beat saying "i have a Lamborghini" 😂😂🫡
Yeah if you plan to do a twin turbo, stick with an LP. The 5.2 is much more suitable for that. However I'd stick with a VF supercharger. Underground Racing doesn't really support the Gallardo much more with TT kits. However VF still does a lot with the 5.2 Gallardo with Superchargers. Much more reliable with supercharging and still gives you the usability of the N/A smooth power. I'd only go TT on a Huracan to have the smooth transmission.
Yeah these cars have held steady for the last 10 years. While the Huracan is the newer version. Huracan is a lot more tame and less raw. It's a better car, but not something I'd sell this car for. It looses the raw character. The Aventador still has the old school raw driving feeling especially with the single clutch transmission. So if you like the raw driving experience of the G, the Aventador would be the next step up. I wouldn't mind having a Huracan next to the Gallardo. More modern, faster and easier to drive. But these cars to me are about the drama. Aventador would be some fun as my next Lambo in the future.

It's not the transmissions. It's the early cars clutches. They were very weak and would wear out very soon. Good aftermarket clutches exist now and will last a long time! 2nd gen cars like mine should hit over 50k miles on the stock clutch if you drive it correctly. So on first gen cars if you buy a used one with over 10k miles. Most likely it already had a clutch replacement and you're probably good to go for many years.
