    Thank you! The one I bought was a 2007 for $US 96k with 23,000 miles so looking at your analysis is right on average. It does have full paint protection film so the paint still looks brand new and the 6-speed gated manual which I believe does add a premium as manual cars are slowly disappearing.
    When I was buying I also looked at the R8's and F430's, however I've always loved Lamborghini's and couldn't pass up the opportunity to have one, and to me it was worth every penny!

      That's an amazing car, congrats. The manuals indeed go for a premium.

      I too looked at the other 2 cars as well, and lamborghini Gallardo won my heart. It’s a 6 speed as well. You did a excellent choice, and yes this is a bias statement. Hahah

    I have not looked at Gallardo prices specifically, but i have looked at some of the competitions, namely the R8, 360 and 430. This is a big difference between auto and manual car prices. Manuals carry a significant premium for all of those cars. In the 430, that premium can be around $50,000 IF you can even find one. I believe the difference is a combo of the early autos not being very good and the sales of manuals was much lower meaning that they are relatively scarce.

    • @fourwheeltrader
      @fourwheeltrader  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are absolutely right. For all tje cars you mention the manuals go at a significant premium, especially the low mileage ones. In the videos I did about the r8 v8/v10 and 360 you can see this very good.

    I "smashed' that like button... with a subscribe! Love that you're doing this analysis and sharing. I've been tracking the 911 Turbos S and Gallardo markets with scatter plots for years and I thought I was the only one. All the cars on here are great! Will keep looking through the vids already posted.

    As always, a very good video with a hell of a lot of work gone into it. Kudos again! 👏
    And as you said, the Gallardo is especially difficult due to its many iterations. As a buyer I tend to find that price, age and mileage are one thing, but specs and condition are just as important (I know you cannot include it in the graphs). You need to LIKE the car you buy. A friend of mine overpaid his Murcielago by about 10 - 15k... and to my initial surprise had been very happy about it. He said: "I'm glad I *had the possibility* to pay pay more. This way I got a car I wanted and in pristine condition". It's not pictured in the graph, but real life.
    Thanks again for the video!

      Thanks! That's 100% true. These cars are not only about finding the best deals based on data. It's worth the extra money in my opinion to get your 'dream spec' car.

    Manny Koshbin recently said the exotic car market was going to crash, and that prices had actually started to drop. I'm not sure I'm able to see that as of yet, but he even talked about buying back a car in couple of months for maybe half the price. I'm sure he didn't mean literally half... but I'd be interested in your expert take on a potential super car market crash. Will we see a sharp drop in the depreciation curves? Temporary??

    • @fourwheeltrader
      @fourwheeltrader  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Prices indeed already came down in the last few months. This was perhaps a more natural development following the large supply of performance cars. In the current situation, the car market will follow most likely the economic development but with a delay. I will start to make some videos which evaluate the one year change in market prices. Those will give a pretty good idea as to what is going on.

    • @2f2f45
      @2f2f45 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fourwheeltrader That would be awesome as it sort of sums up a development that affects all other analyses you have done and are doing, and which is of high importance for any potential buyer (and seller of course).

      Nope. The level of money printing will lead to massive inflation. Car prices will double even as the stock market, housing market, and banking system collapse.

    You forgot the manual play at big part on price and reliability as the 6 speed doesn’t blow up and the clutch last a long time time like 2-3x longer. I’m on 52k on oem clutch and it still catches fine. You can’t drive slow traffic or reverse up hill on paddle shift. It’s burns it up.

    Well, the reality is that if you aren’t buying a 3 pedal car, you are inviting big problems into your life. Ferrari and Maserati too! Those systems are all basically the same. 430 is plagued as is the 360. It really makes these cars highly undesirable and the repair costs and hassle far more than what most people are willing to deal with.
