I truly hate the fact that people label any common sense thoughts as far right. I hate that is a left right issue, I know we could say woke and anti woke, but there surely must be a better expression. I don’t think the far right exists as an entity of any noticeable size in the UK, unlike communists, or more to the point people who identify as communists because most don’t understand communism.

You could call it "cultural marxism", which I think sums it up best, but it's too easy to associate that with so-called "far right" people like Jordan Peterson, and you'd have to explain to most people what it means. Woke is the best term because everyone understands what it is, even if they pretend not to. "Woke" is pejorative, but it's hard to describe in a neutral way, because anyone who subscribes to woke ideas has quite simply taken leave of their senses. It's a mind virus.

I’ve always said that if women want to regain their own categories in sport they have to walk off the field of play and let the self misgendering competitors run on their own.
Let the confused Park runners run on their own.
I shall not be taking part in a park run ever again until they reverse this decision .
Come on people walk off the field to stop this madness.

Sadly there are too many women who identify and sympathise with the deluded
misogynists and are really just virtue signalling to their friends and fellow travellers on this road to hell, which is particularly dangerous and threatening for
women, not to mention the outright blatant robbery being perpetrated on status and financial rewards that female athletes used to be able to accrue. Only a few admirable and courageous ladies, eg. such as Sharron Davies and Riley Gaines have spoken out so far. (there are others, but not enough!) The best way to stop this farce would be for the REAL WOMEN to remain on the podium at the start and let the delude misogynists compete with each other and kick up the most almighty stink if not allowed to to compete in an all WOMEN event. What am I missing? Permitting a policy of allowing men to declare (pretend) they're women - on either side of any any political camp, is damaging. Because there are definite adverse consequences for that - not just for women, but for children & even men.
There isn't an ok situation for left or right or in between to let or encourage this type of abuse; because THAT'S WHAT IT IS.
It matters to women/girls rights and protections at every age or level of sport or whether they're registered as politically this or that. It's not going to keep men from performing their AGP for themselves, they just can't compel others to promote unhealthy behaviors, or quash others rights to serve that person's mental state. See it for what it is instead of trying to mollify every disorder or compulsion for fear of not being 'inclusive' or 'diverse'. What women will tell you - is this is simply straight up abuse that targets women and kids.

But I would be lucky to be in the top 50% of runners when compared to men. Do we get rid of the age categories too now? Do I, as a 50 year old woman, have to compete against 18 year old men? I'm so glad you made the point that unfairness in grassroots sports impacts the vast majority of women & girls. Elite sport is important too but grassroots can't be ignored, it's the only sport most of us will ever do and females are already under represented.
I was on of the women who ran at Cannon Hill parkrun in a "Save Women's Sports" t-shirt earlier this month and my photo was deleted from parkrun social media. I feel like the Guardian article was aimed at (amongst others) me and my four friends who ran in these t-shirts implying we are under the control of a right wing think tank.. which is ridiculous 😅. I'm a lifelong left winger and I think parkrun has been a force for good, I don't want to lose it, but I'm not the only one who is upset to see it throw female runners under the bus with this policy.
Open and Female categories would work well. Gender identity just isn't a factor in your parkrun performance and thats what running categories are there for, fairness in measuring performance.

      @ChrisJohnson-x1x 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      +@666izzy,
      I agree and disagree.
I agree, as when you first do it, it's all about passing the finish line, then it's about "can I do it faster than last year".
But one way we measure how good we are doing, is the stats, so age and gender are usually to two big things that play a part, so when you realize that within "your group" if that's the correct terminology e.g. lets say your a 60 year old Woman, and you completed the run faster than every other Woman in the age range of 55-60, you'd feel pretty good about that.
But to then out that one of reasons your not doing so well (as a Woman) is due to a Trans Woman identifying as a Woman, or as a Man the opposite would be having pride in finishing faster than X amount of Men, to then realize that most of those Men were born Female, it kind of messes this up.
But again, Trans people make up 1% of the stats, so based the on chance of probability, it wouldn't have too much on an impact (unless your goal is to win, but 99% are doing it for fun).
The decision of "let's just remove Age and Gender" was not the right move.
Yes people can lie, a 25 year old Man can say he's an 80 year old Woman, but how many people would do that?
I'd much rather (as a Man) pride myself on doing better than I thought (due to Trans Men identifying as Men), rather than attempt to beat my personal best each year, because without knowing it I may be over doing it, and it's not rare to die while running these things.

@@ChrisJohnson-x1x I totally agree with what you're saying about comparing yourself to others within "your group".

No, women did not. Most are very vocal about this, you just don’t know about it. Unless Matt Walsh is speaking about it, it, no one seems to want to hear about it! I was contacted by police in 2013 in Melb Australia, about me complaining about men in my local leisure centre change room. Women have been routinely silenced about this for over a decade.

How many women do you know who want men in their sports & changing rooms? I know hundreds of women & not one of them wants this.

Women’s sports are boring anyway, except for beach volleyball and, maybe, tennis.
