    A few facts. Wheeled excavators are not as powerful as their tracked counterparts. This machine is also using a steelwrist rotortilt wich sacrifices breakout force for versatility. Wheeled excavators are used ALOT here in sweden. They are usually used regionally and the main benefits are that they are great tool carriers wich make them versatile on any construction site wich involves trenching for suage and drainage etc. They can quickly go from mission to mission thx to the wheeled drive. Also this particular model EW(Radius) is not about performance at all its only about versatility and being able to move with ease on cramped work sites.

    Just got to operate a wheeled excavator for the first time last week. (Only operated tracked excavators for the past 7+ years) And i'm having a lot of fun.
    Not only because i was stuck in a 3.5 ton excavator digging marine clay that is hard as concrete... But also because its a lot of new and interesting stuff.
    Been using tiltrotators all throughout my career and you don't look like you'd need a whole lot of time with it to be proficient with it.
    The wheeled excavator i'm in now is fun to operate. Big plus is that i can steer it with the roller switch on the back of the left joystick.
    So i don't have to release the controls to reposition the machine. And having a trailer with me at all times is (While a pain at times) super convenient.
    Driving it between job sites gets a tad boring. But at least the stereo is good. Really hope i get to try out an EWR150E in the future.
    Thing looks sweet. And it being a volvo i suspect the cab is a nice place to be.

  • @TheGaggenau
    @TheGaggenau 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    in Sweden tracked excavators are only used on bigger workings sites. wheeled is the most common one. they are usually a little bit bigger than this one and they have a trailer to transport the attachments during transport and dirt during work. extremely versatile. skid loaders are not as common as in the states. skid loaders are only used when its narrows and tight. otherwise, it is a wheeled excavator or a huddig.

    I would like to see more of that over here in our country and a few people do have videos on TH-cam of trailers with their excavator.
    I would really like to see a Build-Off contest/challenge people building hitches on their excavators to see how different people building them differently.

      Actually the video I was referring to was one that I’m going to be making in a couple of weeks for you and the rest of the YT audience. I thought you would want to be in on this because this truck that I’m going to be reviewing is larger than any current die cast version of the A60H and I know how much you like the Volvo equipment so when I saw this I said let’s dig 18 is going to flip for that. As of right now the largest diecast version of this truck is 1/32 scale. And I am pretty sure you have that in your collection because I saw the video that you put out when you were opening it. This model is almost the size of two of those diecast models and I just thought you’d want to see that because this toy company that I get most of my trucks from is officially licensed by Volvo, and this is also going to be one of the largest vehicles they have made. This toy company also pays very close attention to detail, and it will function just like the real thing does. This is not just going to be your typical unboxing. I intend to actually demonstrated in the video and I hope that you’ll enjoy it.

    • @alextheobserver1573
      @alextheobserver1573 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't like the wheeled excavator, seems a bit odd and cumbersome.
