    My aunt had dementia. She actually realized something was wrong and stopped driving permanently. 1month later she got the official diagnosis.

      Please, please, please if a loved one has Dementia as hard and as difficult as it might be please remove the keys from them it's so much safer for them and everyone around them. It's a matter of love for everyone concerned. They can do so many wrong things and not even realize it including just going to sleep behind the wheel.

    When my mom was 82 she got disoriented and had to pull over. Fortunately a Godly couple
    pulled over and guided her back home. She gladly gave up her car keys to me and did not want to drive anymore. Perhaps this is what happened to this man. She had dementia.

    Driving licences need to be taken away when they have dementia.

    • @aukeboy1

      Yes and no, in far stages of dementia it can be safer if they won't drive, but in the early stages of dementia i'm against that idea, as for many its the only way to get groceries, go to familie etc.
      People that have dementia with a license should under go a yearly doctors visit to determem if they are fit to drive

    • @galndixie
      @galndixie หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      @@aukeboy1 The doctor can't take them out on a road test, he can't tell how they handle a vehicle or if they know where they're going. People with dementia have good days and bad days, things can change if they get upset or overly tired, their cognitive abilities can come and go, and they know it's happening, they can hide it for a while until it gets really bad. Even the 'early stages' of dementia can be very dangerous. My mother seemed perfectly normal when you had a conversation with her. But she was far from it. If you have dementia, for your own safety and everyone else's, you shouldn't be on the road. She was going the wrong way up one way streets, buzzing thru stop signs and red lights, and running over curbs and off the edge of the road. She had a perfectly good excuse for doing it. "I'm not driving around the block to get across the street", "I didn't need to stop, I had places to go", and she just ran off the road "to see if people were paying attention". She drove herself to her doctor's appointment (which she didn't have, she had found an old appointment card) at the office they moved out of several years before that, and she'd been to the new office a dozen times. She went to the drug store at the old location after she'd been going to the new location every month for several years. A friend called me and said "I just passed your mom going the wrong way on Main Street, then she passed a stopped school bus unloading kids, and then she drove around the gates on the railroad track." I called my brother and said "Go up there right now, tell mama you have to take her car to get the oil changed, get both sets of keys, and do not take that car back up there." Was she pissed? Oh, yeah. Did she do without anything? No, she did not. One of us went up once a week and took her to get her groceries. Another of us took her out to 'run errands' once a week. I took her to all her doctor appointments and out to lunch, and we'd go for drives in the country. She got out of the house at least 3 days a week for a few hours at a time. She was socialized, she was safe, and so was everybody else in town.

      I was so relieved when my grampa lost his license due to dementia. He only ever drove to one place, to the golf course and back, but on back roads up a mountain. His long term memory would have served him well to autopilot him there, but if anything ever happened like a detour due to construction I worried what would happen. Luckily one of his golf buddies was able to start picking him up and dropping him off so he could continue playing.

      My uncle had dementia /Alzheimer. He took off in his truck and accidentally got on the expressway and kept driving until he ran out of gas. Thankfully, the police found him sitting in his truck on the side of the road. He was 75 miles from his home. His family put a kill switch on his vehicle. So whenever he tried to start it, he would run the battery down.

    He’s either in two places I’d think at the moment. One: he’s in the water, either via river or lake. Two: he veered off the road due to his speeds and ended up in the wood line somewhere. As his wife stated he never really drove that fast so there’s a chance he lost control somehow and ended up in the woods. Now he could have easily lost control and ended up in the water, it’s really a difficult guessing game here, weather there’s a slightly sharp turn in the road or an intersection he mistook for something else… either way at those speeds, your gonna find the truck with parts missing that would be able to help identify something is there. ie: skid plate or part of a bumper after making heavy contact with the ground/water. I know I’ve said a lot but in really fascinated with this and how in depth it is. Hopefully he’s found soon, even now as I type this in October I hope he’s found so he can be laid to rest.

    I believe that was him driving fast. The image is distorted because of speed. He was in a frantic panic because on returning home, he realised he left her at sonic. @@TessaWeeWee pleading guilty and/or taking a deal is not simple black and white answer of “guilty”. It is actually pretty complex. There is tons of reasons why someone may plead guilty and/or take a deal. When a deal is reasonable enough a person whom is not guilty will plead guilty to take the deal regardless of being innocent. Including the fact sometimes it can be to spare the other person for facing false reporting backlash. If he was truly guilty and evidence really reflected that a plea deal would have included jail time and usually being a registered sex offender.
