I'm kinda new at DCS, how do you find the guy at steerpoint 1 if you don't take off together?

I'm not sure what the lead does in that case but I would use a combination of the HSD and FCR to fly towards steerpoint 1 and find him via radar similar to finding the drones towards the end of the mission

I honestly haven't tried VR in DCS yet but I might make the jump soon. I use Track IR currently though and it's great

VR is the way DCS is meant to be played. Once you fly in VR you won’t want to do it any other way.
