This movie is creepily nostalgic for me and my brother. I remember that freaky chase the kid had with his bed and that train, and the part where everyone turns against Nemo was horrifying to me at such a young age.
But even with the scary parts of this movie, I still ended up liking it. I also hated how the whole movie was just a dream(I mean it is obvious, but as a 4 year old I was hoping he and the princess would get married have kids and live happily forever after)

I have to say that I actually really liked Little Nemo. I personally think that if they had no dialogue (or even have Nemo a silent protagonist) it'd be way way way better, but it was still really enjoyable. I've gotta disagree with the ending being stupid, though. Nemo learns to be more honest and considerate to the people around him, like most kids do. Whether it's with the pie or redeeming himself by defeating the evil king, Nemo grows and develops as a character rather well. Sure, he isn't as well written as Lilo, but he does seem at least a little bit realistic for a kid.

I actually think the intro to this movie with the train scene is great! It kicks off the film with it's spectacular animation being shown to full effect, it draws the audience in with immediate suspense as well as whimsy, and as far as being a dream that's never mentioned again, well . . . . .all it really had to do was show how the whole premise of the movie centers around dreaming and that's exactly what it did.

Okay. It is time to put this to rest. Link talks a lot in Zelda. There are so many times where we see him making hand gestures and then someone says: "Oh! you say the princess has been kidnapped!" this implies that he says something, but they don't want to take freedom away from the character. If that doesn't satisfy you, there are so many times where they give you the option of saying something. This isn't just a yes or no, in the windwaker you can actually choose to tell someone you are "an ally of justice".
Please, please stop perpetuating this stupid belief. I find this less forgivable than people thinking Link's name is Zelda. That is understandable, the series is called Zelda, and Link is the main character. I don't forgive saying Link is a mute, because anyone that knows the series well enough to enforce this false belief has seen multiple instances of Link talking. Really, all it does is show that you are a moron that doesn't pay attention to the game's dialogue.

I saw this movie for the first time as an adult in college, and to be honest... I loved it. It may be totally predictable and stereotypical and the main character is a total Gary Stu, but that didn't really bother me, in fact I kind of like those plots, even though I know what's going to happen. I guess part of it is that this movie reminded me a lot about my childhood. When I was a kid, I was very much a naive and cheery child, and I had a problem with night terrors. The unbelievable stuff to me was so expected that I didn't mind it (like waking up from the dream and it's still a dream, nemo breaking his promise even though he has no reason to, ect.)and the cheesy stuff like the bad dancing, I honestly kind of enjoyed, especially when compared to the shaky cam action that you can barely see that suffices as filler these days.
Everybody has different things that they look for in a movie, and we can't really chose what we like. The point is being able to explain it and share the things that you think about movies.

Maybe because I'm as high as fuck, but how would Nemo be able to effectively run Slumberland if he's not there all the time? He's a young boy full of energy, being asleep wouldn't be on his to-do-list and since that's how you get to Slumberland Nemo wouldn't be there most of the time. Unless the current King also told Nemo they'll be putting him in a long term coma so he could be present 100% of the time as ruler.

MarsGundam wow, maybe they were planning to do that to him and wasn't going to tell him until the villain took the king. kinda dark when you think about

I'm just realizing something... Why does King Morpheus need Memo as his heir? He's already got a daughter, Camille, who's a Princess... So why is Nemo even necessary?
I like this movie for the animation, but the plot is pointless and confusing.

I watched this when it came out. All I remembered from it was Nemo was given a key and told not to open one door, which he did. That's as memorable as this film gets.

I literally believed this movie was based on a Nintendo game. I had no clue who Windsor McCay was or that he's pretty much the Father of Animation.

As usual in these movies it's to difficult to simply say don't open this door because something very powerful and evil is locked inside of it

I still can't watch this film without anticipatory terror- certain scenes scared me that much as a child. When I get to them, am I scared? No, but just remembering how terrified they made me as a kid is enough to make me uncomfortable until the scenes are done with.

I gotta say, this movie really is a sad case. It looks amazing what with the animation and cast. It almost looks like Don Bluth and Studio Ghibli worked together to create the zaniest animation possible. Which is funny enough because Miyazaki had a hand in it, and Nemo is voiced by the same child actor who played Littlefoot in Land Before Time. The writing really is clunky and some of the characters are pretty bland. I almost want to like this movie but I still see all the issues with it so I'm really torn.

Yeah, that's the real tragedy about it, it had definitely effort put into it, and you can clearly tell they wanted to do something great but failed at it due to its troubled production history. This is the Heaven's Gate of animation.

Lol, I actually had a really vivid remembrance of this movie and comic strip despite it being out before I was born. Though it came on one time I think really early on in my life and because I loved animation my grandma recorded it on VHS. I watched it almost religiously.... No clue why. That big ass door everyone kept warning him about had me SHOOK, as did the demon dude or whatever he was.
