Recently got this through ebay, and man do you summarize my feelings for it too. After owning and selling both import versions and heavily customizing the original hasbro one, there really is no competition at all compared to this one. It completely and utterly decimates those versions in terms of looks, feel and of course price, like seriously on another level altogether. It looks like a miniature hot toys, definitely THE perfect 1/12 scale Mando. Its hard to imagine there will be a better version of this from any company any time soon.
I find the Mafex ver 2.0 of the Mandalorian to be the very best - it certainly trumps this one in terms of quality, articulation, paint- and sculpt- details. The BlackSeries Glavis Ringworld one however is superior to the SH Figuarts version, which is simply astonishing considering its price point. So, one of the best, but not THE best version out there.
@williamegan6756 considering the Mafex is a $100+ dollar figure, it BETTER be better than the black series. And considering it's $250+ the Hot Toys BETTER be better than the Mafex 🤣. That's a case of getting what you pay for. I'm just saying of what's mass produced for the general collector this is superb
@@williamegan6756 its certainly has better paint apps but the helmet sculpt on the mafex 2.0 kills it for me. For some reason they went with a visor that is way too thin, that along with the more noticeable joints that break up the sculpt makes it inferior to the black series for me. I like the seamless joints and don't care too much about putting it in ultra dynamic poses, which is where the mafex is best at. But for me it still is THE best mandalorian 1/12 out there.
Everything about this looks like a step up over the prior one. I didn’t notice how much better the helmet looks until I saw your side by side comparison. Looks great!
I remember preordering this as soon as he was revealed like almost a year ago I think? And wow didn't know he'd end up being this good. I only have the pre-beskar Din for my collection, so this was going to be my beskar version (like a beginning to latest evolution of Din) and man glad he's a huge improvement!
I NEED it. The whole thing looks great, but I especially like the new should plates. That free-floating knee plate is also great. Glad they are carrying over improvements made on the clone trooper shoulder plates and knees plates. Such great plate design on these new figs with the new plates. Man, I am really enjoying how these updated plates work on the new expressions of the entertainment.
The plastic quality alone is such an upgrade how many Mando's did I get with gummy bent legs out of the box. This figure is SHFIgarts level good for a TBS price. This is what TBS should have been all along definitive versions of these characters. Black series seriously dropped some great ones this year.
i am so glad i have pre order it as soon it show up last year. for me it's an instance grab for this figure. lot's of improvement and believe this might be the best black series figure of 2023.
I don't know if anybody else has noticed. But if you pull the cape down around his neck a little bit you can actually see that lower part of his head inside of his helmet, they molded it in there.
Figure's left leg is shorter than the right. Leans to the left when standing "straight." Although I prefer soft goods to plastic (hard goods?) the cape is a bit unwieldy (using a bit of sticky tack on the back of right leg to keep cape in hanging position). Otherwise I agree that it is the amazing figure that this reviewer and others have described.
@@HybridToyReviews the mafex has got many accessories even a lil Grogu but for the money this is great black series usually a hit or miss I got the Darth Malgus and it’s maybe my favourite black series so far
The most improvement I can see here is from the torso and up with better helmet and more range, otherwise it's disappointing he only got single joint knees whereas the old Mando has double joints knees.

@@HybridToyReviews thanks for the quick reply and the info. Also something I saw on the back is that there is also a hole to display the rifle. perfect video with a perfect figurine
The Mando that Hasbro SHOULD have released to begin with. Although WAY better than their previous releases, they STILL didn't beat the import helmet sculpts. 💥Disappointing, because we know Hasbro CAN get it right! Why they don't sometimes, baffles!!! 🤦🏻♂😭😭😭😭
What's wrong with this ones helmet it looks flawless to me? And some of these articulation points are newer to hasbro they weren't an option 4 years ago at least they decided to upgrade him instead of their normal plans of reuse
@@HybridToyReviews Don't get me wrong. I like the new figure as well, and yes, give Hasbro credit where it's due for redoing the figure. 👏 As far as the helmet sculpt, I'm a stickler for detail (I'm also a 3D designer and full-sized helmet collector) so when the geometry is off, I notice it, maybe more than others. In my opinion (and of many others) the Mafex helmet is still superior than this version. I'm an American, who takes pride when Hasbro really nails a figure, but more than that, I will always display the most accurate figure. My frustration is from Hasbro releasing this when we know they can match or surpass the imports with sculpts, and after seeing what the competition has put out for years now, and still comes up short (IMO), is a little disappointing and frustrating for me. Anyway, this is a big improvement for many and I'm happy about that. :)
Only took them 4 years to get half as good as the Japanese, reminds me of American auto makers in the 80s.... additionally if you bought the first release and this you just paid the price of the original SH figures when it first was released.....suckers. oh and half the articulation, and a quarter of the paint compared to the Japanese versions

@ultrateal6811 it's definitely a downgrade! On the plus side if you buy this there's no reason to even think about that one

I bought spare hands and did some gluing and repainting so I had spare hands that gripped the knife tightly and the Darksaber as well.
Idk why I wasn’t notified about this video, awesome video as always 👍 I can’t wait to get this one.
Glad you found it! It's a good figure happy hunting!
Good review
Thank you
Got one from eBay for $24. Money well spent.
Heck yeah you'll like him!
I really wanted the new mafex version but this looks great
Personally I'm of the opinion that this is so good the imports won't beat it. They'll tie but this is amazing for the price

Would have preferred the beskar spear than the knife but it's fine
Same here the knife is kinda useless since he can't hold it. I'm always glad to see a new accessory at least
I'm shocked they didn't try to price this as a deluxe.
For real tho! That's a Hasbro move for sure
It’s $30 lol
It's $24.99. If you find people asking more they're upcharging!

That's thr gamestop tax. They're always $2 over retail they suck

It's definitely less range but the single joint knees look way nicer and still have all the range you need for any posing

Appreciate it dude!

where did you get the figurine holder in the beginning where he was displayed as flying with his jetpack?

@kishansivparsad6631 The hole is still there! I'm guessing it's for future figures in case they decide to give us an early seasons mando again
Anyone else wincing at 6:26? probably just me lol. 😬
What's wrong with it?
@@HybridToyReviews plugging the jetpack in through the cloth. honestly not sure why it bothers me. 😂
It shouldn't it doesn't hurt the cape. Kinda just stops it from flopping around.
Guess I just envision the cape forming out like a bubble after the peg is pushing through it for a while.
I guess there's potential. Tho if the jetpack never is taken off we'd be none the wiser lol
