    The frightening thing about this woman is she has a vote and is a Labour MP to boot... hope she keeps up her nonsense it will ensure we do not have a Labour government again for a very long time.

    If it's OK for a media outlet to be so obviously one sided then they shouldn't be taxpayer funded. Left or right.

    Re her comment that kids coming from economically deprived backgrounds, I was a single parent bringing up my three kids, with their Dad rarely on the scene, and none of them have got into trouble with the law. I don’t think being poor is the issue - it is about teaching values and morals to the next generation. Having a close family network. We lived from week to week, but they were always properly fed, had chores, definite rules in the home, played sport, went to church, got after school jobs, and had boundaries in life. So being poor doesn’t mean you need to end up in trouble.

    • @sojourn6697

      Well said. Blaming crime on poverty has become so normal that your comments regarding morals and values have been completely forgotten even though they are the basics to leading a well adjusted and healthy life.

    When the media learned te reo we all had to learn te reo. When the media adopted climate change we all had to go climate change. When the media became infatuated with Jacinda we all had to be infatuated. When the media went rainbow we all had to go rainbow. When the media support Palestine we all have to support Palestine … see a pattern?

    And SkyOpen (Prime News) tonight rolls out Michael Baker, self-styled Covid Guru, to comment on this AUT trust in media survey. He - and his supercilious lecturing of the public - is a big part of the trust problem.

    So her point about journalists moving to PR jobs.... that says it all. The two should not be interchangeable.
    A journalists job is to find and report the truth regardless of perspective.
    A PR company/person is paid to promote a certain message/perspective regardless of the truth.
    If a journalist can move seamlessly from 'journalism' to 'PR' were they ever really a journalist?

    Such a shame NZ First ran a candidate in Taieri. Without him, Ingrid would have been ousted. Only needed half the votes the NZF chap got to get rid of this tool.

    • @foggycoast
      @foggycoast 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mobbarley7517 I do blame this very poor strategic decision. NZF won zero electorate seats, and did well on party vote. Even Shane Jones didn't win an electorate seat. NZF should not have run for Taieri, they never had any hope of winning it anyway. It only divided the vote and made it easier for Useless Ingrid to stay when it was clear that there was a good chance of getting rid of her this time. It was so obvious that National could have selected a chimp for the seat this time and would have beaten Ingrid if the vote wasn't wastefully split.

    For a fucking start, bad form The Platform. The Public Trust is an entity. I hope they sue your asses. I normally quite appreciate your content. But as I have my fucking Will with them...which I feel should be shifted despite my lack of any wealth...get your act together on headlines and the fucking English language.
    In all other respects, Michael, you are right on point. And I will continue to watch you, absolutely.
