God bless you for posting! Shows the endurance of the Order, even during this time of change for the Church. And as far as I know, they are still preaching the orthodoxy of the Faith! Long live the Friars Preachers!
Wow, thanks for posting! I liked the part towards the end when the family members so reverently watch the miracle of their sons' and brothers' souls changing into those of priests.
Actually, the vernacular started to be used from at least 1963 onwards, and expanded with the promulgation of "Sacrosanctum Concilium" on 4 December of that year. Evelyn Waugh complains of vernacular in the liturgy in a 1963 entry in his diary, I believe.
No more religious orders like that these days (almost)... Thanks to Vatican II and all it's ambiguities! St Dominic, pray for us! Have some more sons and daughters like St Pius V, St Thomas Aquinas, St Luis de Montfort, St Albert the Great, St. Rose of Lima , St. Martin de Porres , St Catherine of Sienna etc... to bring sanity back to the Church!
How well this film shows how much we have lost in just 40 years. Thankyou. Beautiful.
Religious life in Roman Catholic TRADITION still gives that peace and contemplation!

Peter--I've been to the Dominican House of Studies, and judging by this film it actually hasn't changed very much. They're very holy.
Great video!

Pre-Vatican II liturgy. Nice.
