I got a single one back in the late 80's not sue exactly when. I used it truck camping and really liked all the ventilation it offered plus the quick set up and take down.. The one down side was the center bar they had in it , I had to use a self inflating air mattress to avoid that bar and the bump it offered. In all fairness I would of used the mattress anyway as a form of insulation during cool weather. I set it up on the ground and had a tarp over it to protect it from the weather and to offer muself a protected place to sit and cook.
I have looked at these type of cots. However, as I already have a high-quality fishing bedchair laying around, I decided to look for a similar solution which could combine this approach with my existing bedchair. I think I found a solution...really curious how this will work out. Though I have to admit it is not for motorcycle camping, just for bringing your stuff by car. The fishing bedchair has one advantage IMO: Thanks to its adjustable flat and wide feet, you can adapt it to any terrain. And the feet can be secured by themselves, if needed (also, the tent thingy can also be stacked down).

Can you give the model number for it, since on amazon there are 2 different one both claiming to be the double tent cot, but I'm sure the model number would be the difference
@@TheBoogieManNightmare13 It is an Australian made Ali Lite trailer , picked it up on Gumtree. It is a very lightweight steel construction ( 60kg) , easy to tow trailer .

Like this a lot. Is it light enough that a pushbike could pull it? My only concern is that birds will land on the roof bracing and put holes in the tent with their claws. Used to happen with the 3x1 metre blow up pool we had. The top ring blow up part was really strong and thick plastic but the birds were always wrecking it when they landed/took off and the pool would then collapse. Maybe a fly cover could solve this if it proves to be an issue.
The extended legs are just an adaptation of my own , due to the original cot height being lower than the trailer mount. The extenders were fashioned from an el cheapo metal broom handle . Just make sure you remove any stickers from the outside of the handle , or the legs will jam up, as did mine .

I Have a camprite, they are super stuffy. That green outer layer doesn't breath and the vents are too small. I take mine out in dry weather and keep it under my 10x10 shelter. Very comfortable, but don't buy.
Unique setup! I am considering the purchase of the Kamp-Rite double but I am very curious whether you can feel the support bars whatsoever underneath your back or hips? Also does the middle support bar running lengthwise “separate” you from your wife/girlfriend? In other words can you lay on top of the center bar without really feeling it?
Surprisingly the bed feels very comfy, even with a 2" inch foam mattress . I would not vouch for not feeling the centre support bar ,as my body weight is not enough to force down on to it.

I built a similar trailer, a year or so ago, only mine is elevated with storage under the tent cot.

the cot weighs only 23kg , but the trailer weighs 60kg and is suited for a motorcycle or small car.
So you don't use the two middle legas at all; instead just let the trailer hold up the middle?

Under bed storage can be adjusted to suit any requirement . Currently it has approx 150mm ( 6" inch) of space , made from C section purlin.
