  • Bishop Waddell teaches that of all heroes, Jesus Christ is the greatest.
Jesus Christ is not only our hero; He is our Lord and King, the Savior and Redeemer of mankind.

I had this same sentiment a few years ago. As an avid sports fan as a kid. My heros were my sporting idols. And i wanted to be them. But a few years back my perspective changed. I realised, why am i idolizing these sporting people, or musicians? They are human, they might be talented, and i can admire their talent, but i dont have to idolize it. My Savior is my hero. He deserves that title because of what He did for me. It feels really good to actually not put any stock into celebrity status anymore. You realise how hollow of a idol that turns out to be. Yet the Savior is a solid bankable, trustworthy, pure hero.

General Conference is excellent. This was a great testimony and insightful. Food for thought and a lot to ponder. I’m inactive but still appreciate the wisdom of the Gospel. Thank you.

      Hi,
I'm glad you like learning more gospel wisdom. You will be greatly blessed for that!
I hope you can come join with us at church next week. No pressure, but I personally would love to see you at our church, because you are so important to God, and would add so much to bless us with your talents. I'm sure that a lot of members of the church would feel the way I do if you would show up to their ward. If you'd like to, so can try going to just Sacrament meeting for an hour for a month and see if you have more peace, and joy in your life than before. You can stay in the foyer if you want to. You can then start going inside of the chapel later after you go in the foyer a few times. I too wasn't active for a while, but I started to do things little by little to become active. It didn't happen overnight, but a little bit at a time.
God bless you greatly in your life!
      -Nate

I really appreciate this talk! It is so pertinent to us today. It reminds me of the Book of Mormon verse in Alma 38:9 -- "And now, my son, I have told you this that ye may learn wisdom, that ye may learn of me that there is no other way or means whereby man can be saved, only in and through Christ. Behold, he is the life and the light of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness." So true!!

The faith our pioneer brothers and sisters had can be likened unto the faith of Lehi and his family. They left all to follow the Lord. My heart goes out to them for they suffered much and my heartfelt thanks for our brothers and sisters that ran to their aid. A symbol of pure charity. ❤❤❤

I often , wellll more like constantly struggle to live a godly life, even while being the best person I can be. I always keep God in mind and the most important of authority figure. As a matter if fact nearly the only authority figure. However, when I dont, cant or seem to forget the stick rules layed out in the many books presented to us by those who feel blessed by God to deliver messages and guidelines, I feel that people take it as an opportunity to take advantage and steal blessings etc..when will God act in my favor? Why would God bless the unholy when I'm imperfect..I guess simply writing this is all it took for God to bless me with my own answer..maybe I need to show those people the mirror while in thier buisness' and places of worship and authoritive government offices...how else am I to remain even close to who I have become so proud of..im slipping without ICE...why? Why are the dirtiest allowed the secrets and access to all of our privacy, and how have they gained the power to have US act for them..where did they find this motivation if they themselves aren't trash..have they simply forgot they are the trash..are they trying to make US like them so that they can blend in..seems to be so..as for me, I'm going to pray and try again..thank you God for the missionaries and the missionary program. May you continue to bless them and the program, that they can impact positively the lives of others as they have mine..AMEN 🙏 🙏 WELL, TIME TO TRY AGAIN!

Are we going to help just to express one's trust in doing gods will by doing mans will instead. This would be a in degree to which we become flipped in our focus upon humanity not worshipping the father in light in eternity. This serious choice is one's task to give it our trust and in the living faith of Jesus as it is correctly chosen but essential knowledge in man is needed but in this world we clearly are confused and yet looking up are confusion can be ended if we do as Josiah spoke choose ye this day who we will serve is it god or man instead. We must have this courage that Elder Waddel is speaking about. Yet yearning to do stuff with the body cannot be what God desires but first to be initiated by the real God within the kingdom of god without worldly distractions buy keeping the focus on eternity.

I would say the #1 thing you should know is that visitors are always welcome. If you're a non member, you're completely free to attend church meetings, attending meetings is a great way to learn more and get used to the people. If you want to learn more about the doctrines, then the Church has websites and apps that you can look at, with an almost unlimited amount of resources

Always always always listen to what the Holy Spirit tells you, you're going to hear many things about the church both true and untrue. Develop your testimony around the Savior then go on from there.

Well, we learn in The Book of Mormon that, "No unclean thing can enter into [God's] kingdom..." (3 Nephi 27:19), which is to say if we break His law, we can't enter His kingdom.
This is supported in Romans 3:23, where Paul wrote, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." This also teaches us that we aren't capable of paying the price for breaking God's laws and still be able to come to God in His kingdom.
This is why Jesus Christ is so important. As the literal Son of God, He was uniquely qualified to "take upon [himself] the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance." (Alma 7:13)
In other words, because He was the Son of God and lived a sinless life, He alone was able to pay the price for our mistakes so we can come home to God.
      Does that help?

Not a requirement. More of the correct software for the computer, per say. Or better yet, the keys to the right doors. Luckily throughout time God has given those keys to open special doors. Without the key. It's impossible. Hope that helps. Knowledge is true power. ❤️

      Hi,
With our own capacity alone we could never set our fate aright. We need to exercise faith to access the grace of Christ, so that we can be able to with his help, mold, & shape our fate. All have fallen short of the glory of God, but with God, nothing shall be impossible!
