    The fps are 20~25 with fenix and 30~35 PMDG on your system. Could you please share your system spec . Because I am considering to get Fenix or PMDG
    My system has 5600X, RTX3080 , 32G ram .. Thanks

      Ryzen 5700G, RTX3060, 32 Gb ram. Your system should handle both aircrafts!

    8:02 how did you get that tips thing to show up with vertical speed

    • @SimpleTakeoffs

      Download Landing Rate Monitor (Google it) and also FSUIPC. Make sure Software Tips are on in MSFS settings, and open both LRM and FSUIPC either as Admin or both non admin (or LRM won't connect to the sim).

      @@SimpleTakeoffs after downloading both of them do I extract the files and then drag them in Community folder?

      @@Ayviation No those two programs just need to be installed on your computer not in the community folder.

      @@Ayviation Did you get it going? You also have to enable "software tips" in the general options menu.

    How did you map the tiller/nosewheel to your joystick?

    • @SimpleTakeoffs
      @SimpleTakeoffs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m using a Honeycomb Bravo Throttle quadrant. I mapped the tiller to either Mixture 1 or Prop 1 axis if I remember correctly.

      On the 737 also, you can use the prop axis as tiller/nosewheel steering. Easily done in the FMC config menu.

      I love both, but fenix is definitely heavy on the performance

    I have both and i love both but maybe my experiences can help someone to make a choice. The PMDG is much better in performance and the Fenix system with this background app is really hard for the CPU. With the PMDG u have 50% of CPU usage and i have 80% with the Fenix (in flight). So I have a lot of stuttering during the approach and the landing. My advice is: if you are CPU limited you can forget the Fenix

    • @SimpleTakeoffs
      @SimpleTakeoffs  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, the Fenix is more performance intensive on the CPU. It helps the frames to switch the rendering quality from ‘Quality’ to ‘Balanced’ or ‘Performance’ in the Fenix software, but that’s about it!

    • @fizissia

      It helps à little. For me it's better in balanced mode than in performance. It's weird. But even with the lowest settings i still have stuttering during approach with the Fenix. And i don't want to improve my CPU because i often see people who have very strong (and expensives CPU) having the same problem. The CPU usage is very strange in MSFS. Anyway i can fly the PMDG in ultra it's enough to make me happy !

    Great idea to compare these two aircraft. I have the Fenix... absolutely love the sounds (unlike any other plane out there), but tell me....are the PMDG sounds also as good as Fenix?

    • @SimpleTakeoffs
      @SimpleTakeoffs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Arnold thanks for watching. To be honest, the sounds are equally good on the 737 in my opinion. The Fenix sounds great but the engine noise inside the cockpit needs to be louder. Opening the cockpit window helps when you’re on the ground though.

      Ive got them both and I like them both but, I'm finding the 737 much more reliable when it comes to the workings of the autopilot and the RNAV approach and landing. The Fenix just throws the autopilot regularly and you have to really watch it all the way to cruising level. When it comes to RNAV then it doesn't always descend like if I hadn't selected the RNAV during programming of the MCDU. There the PDMG does not ever fail. What I do find in favor of the Fenix is that it doesn't seem to be as heavy on the video card and what I mean by that is that it does not heat up as much when flying the Fenix and that goes for my all time favorite, the FBW A320 so it looks like the Airbus is a bit lighter on the power use. Obviously the FBW has a long way to go but, where it is today is absolutely phenomenal.

      Agreed for the FBW, can’t go wrong with the product their providing at the price point of $0. Looking forward to the A380! I do find the PMDG very reliable.

    Pmdg is more fun on takeoff and landings

    Great stuff. To be honest I'm not interested in anything PMDG do now. When you look at how innovative the likes of Fenix and Fly by Wire have been in such a short time there is just no comparison. This on top of the price. Free and less than 60 quid. That's superb. PMDG still living off a past reputation (back in the day brilliant) but now they are at best mediocre. Fanboys are always going to be myopic not a lot you can do about that. All the best.

      Thanks for watching! The Fenix is truly underrated. The depth of modelling is good in both but we need an EFB in the PMDG stat if they’re hoping for sales numbers anywhere near the 737-700 when the next iterations (600 and 800) are released. Also the ground services as currently set up in the PMDG really requires trial and error to learn. The Fenix EFB makes it all very intuitive.
