I absolutely love morels they are my favorite mushroom and so delicious 😋 we have neen hunting them here and I have some in my refrigerator right now. Thanks for the upload I love watching you and your mom wherever you go. I would love to see more charity shops and maybe a Farmers Market as well as your allotment and how it's growing, what you're eating from it, possibly how you use what you're growing. Love you both and whatever you're up to.
What a great place, stuff to find everywhere! I really like the little stoneware bottle & crock, but I have to say, my favorite is the bottle with man on horse. That would certainly be cleaned up and placed upon my shelf! Happy Hunting!
Hello Fleur and Kate. The leaf shaped beauty you found Kate, isn't Abalone. Abalone is a petrol blue green pink colour. Part of a shells layers. The very pretty leaf you found, was by the looks of it, a mother of pearl layer, as it looked white. It was such a lovely find, perfect in the surroundings it was found in. Nature makes everything better. How beautiful the dump looked. Green mosses, the dreaded nettles and those beautiful wild strawberries. Along with the trees... and big fat bumble bees looking for places to nest or feed. Beautiful. I loved the stoneware items. They will be put to such good use in your dreamed about kitchen Kate. I hope when that day comes, you will show us your kitchen. 😊 A very enjoyable lark. Thank you for taking us along. X
HELLO MY FRIENDS I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY FINDING ALL THE GEMS AND WONDERFUL PIECES OF HISTERY HAVE A BLESSED AND PROSPEROUS DAY YOUR FRIEND FROM THE USA.
Beautiful video! You do well not to trust your phone too much! That mushroom looks more like a type of helvela, and those can be poisonous. They are often confused with morels. I'm not a big expert, but I wouldn't eat that.
You should take home pieces off the lilac bush you were standing next to when looking for the birds, the cutting's can be rooted and planted by your house.
Mother of pearl usually lighter w/ peachy/pink tones, and abalone is a bit darker or deeper-colored with bluish, grayish, and maybe green and purple tones. What a lovely piece that was. Maybe a hair or hat clip if not a pin? Thanks for another happy lark. Thoroughly enjoyed.
36:50 I wonder if it is smokey quartz? That was popular in the Art Deco era. Other than that, I wonder if it was leaded and the heat from the tip burning has discolored it? Could also be (rare) scapolite (although I don’t think it is due to the clarity). Take it in to an antique dealer.
I love how you mudlarkers include nature into your videos. and the beautiful accompanying music to it, too - it is all greatly appreciated. Now, that heavy grey glass stopper - could it be lead crystal? It would account for the added weight and colour. What do you reckon?
Hi the half round thing you did not know what it was we found half of one with a coat of arms on we think they were candle holder. Great video thank you very relaxing
Over on this side of the pond, we pronounce the shell “a-buh-lone-ee”, and the oval shells are lovely. When I was young (I’m in my 70’s), we would find lots of the shells along the California shores. Plus, we loved eating abalone “steaks”. They were delicious! They virtually disappeared in the wild.
Maybe it said "Parsonage"... And your grey bottle stopper looks like it could be made of black clay (kind of like the Wedgewood black jasperware). Lovely film and birds! kindest regards, k
The mushrooms are Verpa conica , Thimble morels, infrequent but must be well cooked if you did want to eat them from a nicer spot, indeed. There were small ones on your right in the first shot too . Must not confuse with toxic Gyromitra species. Nice video thanks
The shell piece could be used as a Christmas decoration. Have you ever thought of making nature videos ? The clips you show are wonderful and how lucky to hear a Nightingale. Finally I must say Kate you have the most beautiful hair x
Thank you both for such a beautiful video. The tranquil music, the lovely bird song, flowers and greenery, absolutely perfect. And of course all the treasures that you found. Thanks again, for taking us on this journey with you.
11:45 You should make that metal shape into a old bath tub, like one you'd have in front of a fire an have to fill manually. Just an idea, so glad to see you out an able to enjoy a good lark. Cheers! Matt USA
I keep thinking of that big pot you saw, it sure would be pretty, slightly on its side, with flowers cascading out of it. Like a stream. You had some very vocal birds on your walk, and I’m glad that you found your way out! 😂
You all on the British Isles are so lucky not to have to worry about snakes. I am always watching for them in the trees above the creek that I mudlark in. Sometimes it gets a bit wearisome 😟
Loved hearing the birds. Your sherd stories are always great. Hugs to Sunny. I think Abalone is a bluish, green, to pinkish shell. I believe your object was mother-of-pearl.
Mother of pearl is from nacre, a protective layer from a mollusk such as abolone or oyster shell its the first inner layer. a pearl is also nacre, Pearls are formed when an irritant, such as a bit of food, a grain of sand, bacteria, or even a piece of the mollusk's mantle becomes trapped in the mollusk. And the nacre part of shell grows around it, to protect the freshwater mussels or marrine oysters. Abalone shell is a gastropod mollusk, and all parts are used commercially.
The birdsong on the video was mixing with the birdsongs out my window, I wasn't sure who I was listening to! Of your finds, that big stoneware jar is amazing I'm glad you took it. It's interesting to think that teahouse/restaurant is still around, you should definitely try to go there! Those wild strawberries would benefit from a little thinning, if it isn't illegal you should gather a few plants for your allotment...
Could the grey stopper be made of Soapstone ! It was a stone used for Many purposes in the 19 century. Often Soapstone kitchen sinks were preferred by homeowners. Soapstone is I think soft enough to carve and polish into many objects. Hope it is Soapstone. Happy for you whatever it is. Love the mother of pearl pendant or brooch piece. Thanks for sharing. Namaste. Carpe Diem.
The black bottle stopper seems made from a material called Ebonite. It was invented by Charles Goodyear in 1844 and replaced widely-used wooden bottle stoppers, which tended to soak up liquids and caused many bottles to explode.
Love the finds and the nature shots. Your morels don't look like the ones here in Washington S tate USA, but interesting anyway. Congratulations on the YT praise.
I really wish I could go mud larking with you guys. It looks like so much fun. But it is good seeing a new video from you guys. I enjoy you ladies more than you know. God bless you and your family.
Thank so much for your wonderful mudlarking films and finds. If I ever have a bad day. Both of you cheer me up. Am I allowed to ask what music you have in the background? Xxx hugs to everyone.
I LOVE spring, that is my time of the year, everything is awaken, even I, so I can work and work, in the winter, I hibernate. Love the birds singing, and everything is coming to live. Lovely tour out with you, thank you two,
I think, but don't quote me, the stopper has a lot of lead in it. Glass like that was used in industrial glass to make it more magnetically and electrically inert making it safer to store certain chemicals. But I could be wrong 😊
Larking with the nightingale! A lovely little wander in a lovely little forest, such fun finds too, especially the mother of pearl leaf. I think perhaps it's one half of a dress buckle. Sherd story was a wild ride! And so odd to run a tea room for an 'above average' customer, over a butchers!? Which in the 1880s was quite a grotesque scene...
Hello my Favorite Ladies just saw your new video notification, and i get all excited 😊 to watch everytime, with your company and the birds & bees 🐝 buzzing anything is possible 💫 Thanks Always🙋♀️🙃🪂🌸🍄
I grew up calling them pill bugs here in eastern North Carolina. I reckon it's because they roll up into a round pill shape. Roly poly bugs is another good name for them.
The big round thing that you found at 4:38 looks like the rest of the candle holder that Ian and Louise @Westcountry Mudlarks found in their most recent video!
I don't know why but I never received a notification that you had sent out a video and I am subscribed to your channel and have the bell clicked and have watched your great channel for quite a while so I hope others are getting notified.
Hello ladies, great hunt today. Abalone, is pronounced abaloneeeeee. And, yes, it is mother of pearl, any shell that produces nacre can be called mother of pearl....😅
I would love for you both to do a Q&A sometime soon , I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels it would be so lovely to get to know you both a little bit more 🌹
Kate, the item you found at the 5:15 mark looked to me like one of those Grecian urn flower planters people have on either side of their front or back doorsteps. Hi from North Carolina! Loved y'all's new video. Y'all take care. You have such soothing voices and your enthusiasm for what you're doing is what keeps us coming back again and again. ❤❤
Wonderful video Ladies, the birdsong is beautiful! I live aside a busy road and rarely get to hear birds singing. Love the finds and the fascinating sherd story and it's always good to see Sunny cat😃💖x
Mother of pearl occurs in several mollusks, particularly turban and top shells as well as pen shells. Sometimes it is white, and sometimes it is multi pastel colored. Most of the mother of pearl buttons that you find are made from top shells. Abalone is very colorful.
So much of your explore today reminds me of where I grew up in New Hampshire! And I use the Merlin app (is that the one you were using?) all over the place in California. I've never heard a nightingale, even though we have them, especially in central United States, I think. Thank you for the atmospheric adventure and wonderful finds!
Do y’all have mockingbirds? Im in Texas and mockingbirds are my favorite because they mock other bird songs, and will sing so many different songs. They are beautiful!
The gray bottle stop is probably smoky quartz.
I absolutely love morels they are my favorite mushroom and so delicious 😋 we have neen hunting them here and I have some in my refrigerator right now. The mother of pearl leaf reminds me of an escutcheon 🗝️
I've missed you 2! I hit subscribe 4 times, so I surely should see more of your wonderful videos!😊 really enjoyed watching this! Thanks so much 😊😊😊
The bottle stop maybe Soapstone also know as Steatite, from the way you are describing it , but that would be my best guess ,.
What a great place, stuff to find everywhere! I really like the little stoneware bottle & crock, but I have to say, my favorite is the bottle with man on horse. That would certainly be cleaned up and placed upon my shelf! Happy Hunting!
An enchanted forest dump. Lovely bird songs and and lots of mossy growth. Magical.
Mary, I was thinking the same thing!❤
Abalone tends to be more grey, brown or green and has more swirls. I think your find is mother-of-pearl. That would be from an oyster.

That was a butiful location
Yes. Your videos have improved. I think that decorative curved piece of metal is an old curtain rod support.
Love both your chanels, started with mudlarking and now I also have 3 dolls houses 😘
You should take home pieces off the lilac bush you were standing next to when looking for the birds, the cutting's can be rooted and planted by your house.
I'm also a birder in my part of the globe
Thank you for sharing the sounds and sights from yours.
Pretty hair pull it back or up another great adventure
The Nightingale song was heavenly
Mother of pearl usually lighter w/ peachy/pink tones, and abalone is a bit darker or deeper-colored with bluish, grayish, and maybe green and purple tones. What a lovely piece that was. Maybe a hair or hat clip if not a pin? Thanks for another happy lark. Thoroughly enjoyed.
It's a shame that the common nightingale isn't so common now.But what beautiful birdsong. Some great finds.

The half ball object is a match holder, they would sit in the hole and then you strike it on the rough sides 👍🏻
The George bottle would have gone with me I would clean it to make an impression mold to make other 3D things with it.
Hi the half round thing you did not know what it was we found half of one with a coat of arms on we think they were candle holder. Great video thank you very relaxing
Your little ointment pot would be cute as a cushioned footstool for the doll's house, or make a pin cushion for when you are mending.🥰🥰🥰
Over on this side of the pond, we pronounce the shell “a-buh-lone-ee”, and the oval shells are lovely. When I was young (I’m in my 70’s), we would find lots of the shells along the California shores. We pronounce it the same as you do over here in Australia too.😊
Maybe it said "Parsonage"... And your grey bottle stopper looks like it could be made of black clay (kind of like the Wedgewood black jasperware). Lovely film and birds! kindest regards, k

Love all your finds, and the birds singing ❤❤
I love the idea of visible mending. Anyone that does mending should leave a mark saying “I WAS HERE” ♥️
Thank you both for such a beautiful video. The tranquil music, the lovely bird song, flowers and greenery, absolutely perfect. And of course all the treasures that you found.
Thanks again, for taking us on this journey with you.
Yippee 🎉 are Steven is 1st..what a lovely bird song..what more can you wich for treasures nice music and you 2❤❤

The split earthenware with the notch might be a bed riser.

Maybe the gray bottle stopper is chalcedony? Don't know how one would test for that however.
The song...OH I WISH I WAS A PUNK ROCKER WITH FLOWERS IN MY HAIR
Or maybe a hippy with flowers in their hair.!!!
I bet your house is so interesting. I know we have seen little snippets and you are private people. Thank you for letting us see into your existence 😊
So many great bottles and goodies.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Beautiful bird song, beautiful area and such wonderful treasures 😍❤️ thank you Kate and Fleur

A film of the woods plus the bird songs would make a lovely relaxation tape 🌲🌳🪺🐦⬛
Would you have a use for the curtain bracket in your greenhouse?
You should have had dad cut down that R. Whites bottle. It would have made a great beverage glass. It had such bold and beautiful embossing.
It was wonderful.
Oh wow, you’ve found a nightingale! It’s song is so unbelievably beautiful and so strong for such a tiny bird…
Yay!!!!!! ♥️ Today is the rest of April 🤣🤦♀️🥰
The black bottle stopper seems made from a material called Ebonite. It was invented by Charles Goodyear in 1844 and replaced widely-used wooden bottle stoppers, which tended to soak up liquids and caused many bottles to explode.
55:39 I love Sunny cat’s appearances! 🥰
The bird song is incredible. Thank you for sharing😊

Oh dear,almost 2 week's i waiting your new video..TQ
I love all the birds calling out or singing
I really wish I could go mud larking with you guys. It looks like so much fun. But it is good seeing a new video from you guys. I enjoy you ladies more than you know. God bless you and your family.
Honey bees are the ones that will die after stinging. Bumble bees do not lose their stingers, but they can sting more than once.
Correct. And bumblebees sting much less often than honeybees. They are more docile.
Certain I've heard of grey glass before
Thank so much for your wonderful mudlarking films and finds.
Lovely tour out with you, thank you two,
The one you had that was round like a ball and cut in half. It looks like a candle holder.
I don’t know what I enjoyed more, the birds or the finds or maybe the purring. Thank you both for the sweet video.
I think, but don't quote me, the stopper has a lot of lead in it.
Glass like that was used in industrial glass to make it more magnetically and electrically inert making it safer to store certain chemicals.
But I could be wrong 😊
It might be Smokey quartz…

Hello from France. Maybe the PA stands for Paris? :) Lovely video as always.
You deserve nothing less than a nightingale serenading you. Good to see your fame starting to grow. As usual you are totally delightful.
You two should find the real Morel mushrooms. The best ever! I often wonder if any of the people roaming around take the edible mushrooms. Why not?
Larking with the nightingale! A lovely little wander in a lovely little forest, such fun finds too, especially the mother of pearl leaf. I think perhaps it's one half of a dress buckle. Hello my Favorite Ladies just saw your new video notification, and i get all excited 😊 to watch everytime, with your company and the birds & bees 🐝 buzzing anything is possible 💫 Thanks Always🙋♀️🙃🪂🌸🍄
Fun fact: I’m from Pittsburgh PA USA and we call wood louse …potato bugs! No idea why!
In southern Indiana we call them Rolly Polly bugs.
They're called the same in most of the other states also@livingwithjane0654
I grew up calling them pill bugs here in eastern North Carolina. I reckon it's because they roll up into a round pill shape. Roly poly bugs is another good name for them.
They're Pill Bugs here in California.
I’ve never heard pill bug! 🧐😆
❤😊
The glass shaped leaf shaped item could be some type of agate.
I also could not find anything close to your grey bottle stopper.
the thing at 4:49 i reckon used to be some form of decorative candle holder!
Am sure that small white item is part of a collar stud if wearing a wrap around collar
The big round thing that you found at 4:38 looks like the rest of the candle holder that Ian and Louise @Westcountry Mudlarks found in their most recent video!

Hello ladies, great hunt today. Abalone, is pronounced abaloneeeeee. And, yes, it is mother of pearl, any shell that produces nacre can be called mother of pearl....😅
The victorians loved to display their auriculas in a auricula theatre, a tiered stand, I think that flower pot is for just such a plant.
The melted bottle stop would make a lovely mushroom.😊
I saw a male cardinal today. They are so stunning.
I would love for you both to do a Q&A sometime soon , I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels it would be so lovely to get to know you both a little bit more 🌹

Here is another suggestion for the grey bottle stopper... possibly Ebonite?
Wonderful video Ladies, the birdsong is beautiful! I live aside a busy road and rarely get to hear birds singing. Love the finds and the fascinating sherd story and it's always good to see Sunny cat😃💖x
Lead crystal glass is heavier than regular glass because it has the heavy lead minerals added. I suspect your Grey bottle stop is lead Crystal.
Nightingale, cuckoo & chiff chaffs, all at the same time- wow!!
The bird song was wonderful! Thank you.

16:55 "Oh I wish I were a Punk Rocker, with flowers in my hair" haha
Do y’all have mockingbirds? Im in Texas and mockingbirds are my favorite because they mock other bird songs, and will sing so many different songs. They are beautiful!
No mocking birds in Britain !
As always, fascinating.
And the birdsong was so lovely and relaxing. ♥️♥️♥️
Brilliant video with a nightingale singing in the background. The toadstools were stinkhorns and def not edible
Hi girls,nice finds,
The beauty of Nature is Astounding ❤️
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉happy😊!
The only thing I can think of that the gray bottle stopper could be made of, possibly led crystal. Another great video. ❤
