    Very cool. Planning on building this same aircraft for the same mission.

    Thank god you are videoing this. I’ll watch every video until I trade my house for a cardboard box and pick up a model 5 kit myself.

    I thought I saw the kit came with provisions for a 3rd row of seating but then was removed in the last minute of the video? Are my eyes seeing things correctly?

    Can you tell us what the length in feet is of the rotisserie because I wanna see if it will my garage.

    • @ColbyOsborn
      @ColbyOsborn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bare fuselage (fire wall to the aft end of the vertical stabilizer) is about 18' and my rotisserie adds about 2'.

    That center pivot design for the rotisserie is genius!

      Appreciate the tip Dave! I haven’t decided yet but it will be either Stewart System or Oratex. I’ve been reading as much as I can online about both and would welcome any insight you or others might have on either.

      @@ColbyOsborn I used poly fiber 20 years ago on my challenger. No complaints at all, I would assume most of the systems are about the same?? I’m just building a Dakota Hawk and haven’t started looking into covering just yet, I was thinking of just going with Poly Fiber again, but will look around a bit…. On TH-cam I’m Sawyers Dad, you can see my build there.

    Looking good. Just curious. Were your wings pinned to your fuselage at the factory to check wing fitting fit and alignment? Asking for a friend.

    • @ColbyOsborn
      @ColbyOsborn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, Kevin. A couple of years ago they started setting the angle of incidence and dihydral on the wings at the factory and then drilling the wings and wing struts to the fuselage. So all of the kits now come with the wings and wing struts holes already drilled to final size.

    Do you have a rough idea of what your final cost may be? A buddy and I are considering splitting a build. Keep them coming!!

    • @ColbyOsborn
      @ColbyOsborn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We're still undecided on many of the big ticket items like engine, prop, and avionics. Our final cost could vary significantly depending on those upcoming decisions. I hope we can come in around 120k, but our cone of uncertainty is still fairly large at this point.

    Overengineering for a simple solution. But if you have the money and the time, why not.
