Don't use the K&N. the thing basically allows full on sand through your engine. Do an oil change and send the oil to a lab for analysis. Then switch back to paper and send oil on your next interval and you'll see a drastic decrease in Iron in your engine. Iron from your crank and cylinders. If you sample the oil from the filter you'll get an increase in silicon (sand) as well, but the filter media is too tight to have it show up in the regular drained oil.
@@Moe-Freeman I haven't looked into it, but anything with a cotton/oiled filter isn't going to filter as well. Typically they increase a little power because they have have less restriction which means they filter less. Then the other thing they do is smooth out the tube for smoother flow.
$280 for advantage package and $380 for advantage plus. Advantage package good if you don’t plan on bigger tires or performance additions. Advantage plus good for people with more mods larger tires.
Thanks bro love your video just bought a 2020 Z71 Chevy Colorado With the "Performance" upgrade from Factory but I Still definitely want to put a little more lead in its pencil lol, so your tips help. I think I'll start with the triffecta seems to be the biggest bang for your buck.
All these small HP adders can add up, 5hp here, 5 hp there and you can end up with 30-40 HP even before a tune. I've been using the Trifecta tune for over three years and it's really worth the money. You can feel the HP in Sport mode and the improvement in the trans shifting is worth the cost alone.
I would not waste a dime on an aftermarket MAF - everything depends on a quality MAF, including your transmission. The aftermatket coils are another gimmick - as far as electronics - stay OEM. Subbed, I have an 18 Colorado with the LGZ V6. From 'Worst Case Ontario'.
Have you tried out the JET MAF? I can't find much info on them. Look like OEM with a JET sticker. I've used ported MAF on different GM engines in the past but the LGZ is a different MAF.
@@UpNorthMotorsports More research on the JET MAF, many think it's a OEM with the OEM number sanded off and a JET sticker applied. Larger TB gives you better throttle response, more air in the 0-50% throttle opening. truck feels more responsive but 0-60 times are the same. CAT back helps, as does a CAI but they are minor. Gears and a tune are significant gain.
You're a fellow Canadian i refuse to rip you apart, what I will do is RIPP apart ripps kit.. By a few different customers they appear to be absolute dog water... slow, they dont provide a tune (they provide one to get you to a tuner to have it tuned separately) By most of the research i've done Mallett although the most expensive would be the route i recommend to everyone who can afford it lol. The maf & coils are cool, im so sad I crashed the LFX because i too was going to get the cams, but they dont make them for the 17+ engine code which is "LGZ/LGX" and the throttle body spacer is decent it will help with throttle however the thing i liked it for most on my old truck was stopping the damn whistle sound the TB makes at speed lol Great video btw !
Bigger tires is the one I liked the best definitely makes you turn around to look at the truck everytime and if you do lots of offroading I recommend skidplates. For the engine I would recommend a cold air intake makes the engine sound meaner. Hope you have fun with your colorado 👍
Watch for gas and oil. Mine was loosing oil life even parked in garage. Otherwise the truck is amazing but I recently I decided to trade it for another vehicle.
@@ap5282 The oil life factors in time, number of cold starts, miles and other stuff. My ZR is not my daily and not a lot of miles, I change once a year and under 5k miles.
I have the RIPP on my 16 Canyon. I'd advise against it. The air intake filter is an issue. It's buried way down low in a corner where you cannot modify a box around it. Therefore limiting and sucking in hot air.

What about the performance intake from gm? What you said makes a lot of sense

Sounded great !! I have a 2019 crew cab 4by4 with a 3.5 inch front and back lift that needs to sound exactly like yours !!! Lol
Subscribed! Nice truck man. Just bought a 2017 chevy colorado LT. Love your content 👌
Thank you, means alot 👍 I'll try to keep the content coming
Ive got a Trifeca performance download on my ZR2, big difference in performance.
Nice I am wanting to get one for my truck
What’s the cost for that trifecta pd
@@dbrasco22 it seems the price was around 220.??? I bought the upload during their black Friday sale last year (20).

Yes definitely can make these little engines purr and the tune is on my wish list
I have my trifecta on 24/7 even with cruise control, eco mode seems to be worse in every aspect for me

Thank you lol I figured I'd give people the options but I personally want the mallet one for all the reasons you listed
May add some power just cleaning that engine compartment….😩
Hard to keep clean when I drive gravel almost everyday but usually do a deep clean once in awhile including the air intake
I’m about to get a Colorado. Any tips for beginning mods I can do?

Supposedly the Colorado has really good factory airflow and won't benefit from add ons
I’ve heard the same thing. 👍
I can hear and feel a better performance with mine maybe it depends on them year of the Colorado
You lose torque to gain hp. So waisted money
@reginaldmclean8013 id rather have torque over hp
Just a delivery comment, but try to use & finish your statements with things other than "stuff like that". I want that exhaust for my 2017 Z71!!
I noticed it too when I made this video lol I try to stop using "stuff like that" in my other videos 😂
Can you post the link to your muffler?

Non of this does anything without a tune 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Wrong lil bro
Not true …I slapped on the K&N cold air intake and Man …it was a very noticeable difference in sound and performance!!! No tune needed !😜
Nothing u did makes any difference! Just a total waste of ur money!!
well, this sucks. thought we were going to learn somthing. stick with weed wackers or post other people's builds.
Every mod is a useless waste of money and do absolutely nothing at all.except take ur money,!
A supercharger definitely makes a difference but it's your own opinion I guess 🤷
@@UpNorthMotorsports mallett is totally worth it

Ooof you got the worse K&N. Should of got the straight pipe CAI. Adds 14 HP.
