  • The story of the copper snake (serpent) presents a well-known theological difficulty, put by the Sages and cited by Rashi in his commentary on Numbers 21:8: "Can a snake cause death or give life?" That is to say, did the stylized serpent have autonomous power to heal people of snake bites? The explanation given was that the power to cause death or give life lay not in the snake but in the power of faith in the Lord, in He who gave us the commandments, to heal the sick. In other words, we are not dealing here with magic, but with the will of G-d to bring about a cure by means of the copper snake. There's also a connection with the seraphim, angelic burning beings in the heavenly throne of G-d, and the snakes.

The serpent is Apep who lives in the dark sea and wilderness of the noon, the son of Apep was Seth who was in Apep's image. It is no coincidence that Moses called his son Seth. Moses was called Apepmoses, he was king of the Hyksos. Aaron was high priest to Apep and Bael. Lilith was demonised and then seen as in the image of Apep, in Greek Lilith was called Lithiathon. Apep was never worshipped in Egypt by the Egyptions only by the Hyksos who rulled lower Egypt, Apep wasnt worshipped as such but prayers and offerings were given to passify this being to bring balance between anarchy and order or light and darkness. Another greek name for the serpent was Campus, which means water monster, the most common was hippocampus meaning the horse sea monster but it was not the only one. You will note these are mentioned in the testiment of Solomon.

What about the serpent in the Garden of Eden that convinced Adam and Eve to take from the Tree of knowledge after God told them not to? Who is the serpent? And if Adam and Eve listen to The Serpent rather than God, then how can we tell the difference between God and the serpent?

When you say that was "their truth" when they worshipped the serpent is wrong. It was their "belief". Their truth was idolatry.

The serpent is the concept of the Universe's ability to have both qualities of Good and Evil , both ..and cause and effect except that for humans it can go either way and have implications that can result in oblivion or reincarnation perhaps and this is where the Torah , Bible and even Quran come in for they have the tools and rules for these universal concepts ...If I am correct Western religion have the effect of likeness on human beings meaning their offspring and even people they dont know can look so similar whereas Eastern religions have the effect on people of reincarnation for there are stories of this , maybe many Gods equal many lives???!! ..they say that some mujaheddin and Catholics do not rot when they die or fight ..we are getting somewhere..critical thinking ..I might have it backwards but I think got it right

What do you mean, Christianity could never answer this question?!
The New Testament talks about this very event. It's a picture of faith and God's deliverance of those who trust in His provision.
Those who looked to the serpent on the pole AND BELIEVED GOD were healed.
Christianity has always seen this event as a picture of faith in God (specifically in Messiah, who was "crushed for our iniquities... by his wounds we are healed" Isaiah 53:5)
"Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life"
      --John 3:14-15

Jews talk to G-d all the time, Jews don't need a temple nor prophets to talk to G-d! Did Abraham have a temple when he talked to G-d? What about Isaak? Jacob? Joseph? Moses? etc...
