Wonderful teaching! That is the best and fullest explanation of why that bronze serphant was lifted up! And the comparison to Jesus! Wonderful teaching!
Spugeon’s testimony of salvation, I’ve never heard before. Quite moving!
Thank you for keeping this older video up! What a blessing!

The story of the bronze serpent (along with the Passover story) really helped clear up a conflict I struggled with for almost 20 years, which was about the role our works/behavior play in salvation. In the "Lordship Salvation vs Easy-Believeism" debate, I felt both sides had very convincing arguments, yet they couldn't both be right. After studying both the bronze serpent and Passover stories, the symbolic message was crystal clear: salvation really IS that "easy" and simple! In both stories, a ritualistic act of faith - which had diddly squat to do with any solemn vow to "behave better" - was all that was needed in order to live. "Works" and a changed heart are a BYPRODUCT of saving faith and EVIDENCE of it, not the essence of such faith, nor the cause of it.

Belief is never easy. Jesus is the way not the "idea". He says give all you have away. And would you not give everything away to be in his eternal kingdom? Life is a struggle. Belief is a struggle. Until you do the work

Such a good text and sermon from Pastor John! Before I watched this, I was blessed to be able to listen to Spurgeon's sermon on this text "The Mysteries of the Brazen Serpent." This passage is so amazing because it adds EVEN MORE MEANING to John 3:16. God Bless

EXODUS{4:1} And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. {4:2} And the LORD said unto him, What [is] that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. {4:3} And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. {4:4} And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: {4:5} That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee

Such an enlightening message!! Its something thats led me to prayer and awe, once again.
But i dont know where the error took place..as i was following every text Ptr Piper mentions and read from my Bible, he quoted Isaiah 45:20.. and diving into it, its actually in Isaiah 45;22.. im sure it was just a mere overlook. Nevertheless, praise God for this!!

Why Easter? Resurrection day of Christ not Easter nor Ashter.

  • @scottwojack
    @scottwojack 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Being lifted up does not refer to Jesus dying on the cross. John always uses it to refer to Jesus' resurrection/ascension. If you look to the man who now sits at the right hand of God you will have eternal life, but if you look only to the man on the cross you are still dead in your sins.

It's critical to understand that Christ was born a male child Rev 12:5 because Adam was the serpent in Eden, which is why Christ became a serpent (man) on a pole John 3:14.
Paul details how through "ONE MAN sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and death spread to all men", and "the gift by the grace of the ONE MAN, Jesus Christ" , having died for us, justifying us by his blood, saving us from the wrath of God, reconciling us to God. "As through ONE MAN's disobedience, the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the ONE, the many will be made righteous. Romans 5
A person is a serpent when they are under Satan's influence, as Adam was in Eden. Adam became lofty from the waters of the deep (Satan), but God gave him into the hands of the nations, who cut him down, giving him over to death, to the earth beneath, among the sons of men, with those who go down to the pit. Ezek 31
The wedding is between Christ - the righteous man, and Israel of God - the woman who in pain and labor gave birth to Christ Rev 12:1 & 2 & Gen 3:16.

@@toddcote4904 What’s more in Gen. 2:18 God said “not good become the man, separation I will make if only help opposite”. Look at this verse on Biblehub biblehub.com/text/genesis/2-18.htm
      Notice the following mistranslations:
They add “it is” before “not good” to make it appear the subject of the sentence is the man being alone.
The noun bad בד (Strong’s 905 & 907 201 & 5 occurrences) means ‘separate’, but is translated as “alone”.
The verb hayah (Strong’s 1961) means ‘be, become’ but is translated as “should be’.
The word low לו is translated “him”. It is not assigned a Strong’s number, but in other instances is identified as lu לו (Strong’s 3863 22 occurrences) that means ‘if, if only’.
The noun ezer עזר (Strong’s 5828 21 occurrences) means ‘help’, from the noun oz עז (Strong’s 5797 92 occurrences) that means ‘strength, might’, the resh suffix incorporates the element of headship, which is always used of Yahweh’s ‘help’ except in the mistranslated text of Gen. 2:18 & 20 where it appear to be used in reference to the woman as the man’s ‘helper’.
The Hebrew adverb neged נגד (Strong’s 5048) means ‘in front of, in sight of, opposite to’ translated mostly as ‘before’, ‘front’, and ‘opposite’, but in Gen. 2:18 is translated as “suitable”.
Have you ever looked at what the Bible really says for yourself?

In Gen. 2: 21 & 22 “And cast down Yahweh gods chastise upon the man and he slept and seized kindred from lame side and isolate flesh underneath. And build/repair Yahweh gods the lame side seized from the man to mighty toward fire (mistranslated as ‘woman’) and come upon the man.”
Look at verse 21 on Biblehub biblehub.com/text/genesis/2-21.htm
The root of echad/achad (Strong’s 259) is often found in the form אחת, the root is ach אח (Strong’s 251 630 occurrences) that means ‘brother, kindred’, and the taw suffix means ‘of’, as we see in Gen. 27:38 where Esau said to his father Isaac “the blessing of kindred [echad], my father bless also me”.
The noun tsela צלע (Strong’s 6763 41 occurrences) means ‘side’, the same as tsela צלע (Strong’s 6761 3 occurrences) that means ‘limping, stumbling, figurative of calamity’, and tsala צלע (Strong’s 6760 4 occurrences) that means ‘lame, limp’.
The verb sagar סגר (Strong’s 5462 91 occurrences) means ‘close, isolate, quarantine’ often translated as ‘shut’.
The noun tachath תחת (Strong’s 8478 504 occurrences) means ‘underneath, below’.
Look at verse 22 on Biblehub biblehub.com/text/genesis/2-22.htm
The word banah בנה (Strong’s 1129 375 occurrences) means ‘build, obtain children, make, repair, set up’.
The verb laqach לקח (Strong’s 3947 965 occurrences) allegedly means ‘accept, bring, buy, carry away, drawn, fetch, get, infold’ but more likely ‘take, snatch, take away’, from a primitive root that also means ‘seize, take (away)’.
The noun ishshah אשה (Strong’s 802 781 occurrences), is the same as ishsheh אשה (Strong’s 801 65 occurrences) that means ‘offering by fire, made by fire’, that in Numbers 28:9 has a sweet aroma to Yahweh. The root is the noun esh אש (Strong’s 784) that means ‘a fire’, with the he suffix that ‘expresses the concept of movement toward’, thus ishshah and ishsheh mean ‘toward fire’.
The verb bo בוא (Strong’s 935 2573 occurrences) often found in the form בא, mostly translated as ‘come/came’.
The Genesis creation account is mistranslated to make men feel superior to women, so they will make the same error Adam made becoming lofty as describe in Ezekiel 31.

That's a pretty long winded reply to say, "the translators have made a mistake, that man is actually bad, not the head of woman, and is actually the snake in the garden." Is that really your conclusion? It's nonsense because it destroys the clear narrative of the entire bible! The man is not the snake and the woman is not the head of man and man was not bad until after he disobeyed. You've actually destroyed what Jesus came to do by changing the narrative of the creation of man.
Sounds like someone else I know....

    • @solitairecat1
      @solitairecat1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@toddcote4904 It's very hard for men who have been brainwashed by the false narrative to see the truth because Satan knows the weakness of men is their arrogance. You should try and study scripture and pray for your eyes to be opened before it is too late. And it's not going to be easy, it will be a lot of work.

That is NOT what it says ffs. It says _
when he is talking to Nicodemus about being born again he clearly highlights that the son of man is IN heaven -"No man hath ascended upto heaven but he that came down from heaven, even the son of man which is IN heaven." Jesus cannot be the son of man thereby no ? So who or WHAT is the son of man?
